This is the best weightlifting and powerlifting gym in all of San Francisco. The coaches are professional and compete actively and most importantly, they make the environment very welcoming for new lifters. I highly recommend going even if you have to drive since there’s free parking in front!

This place is awesome! I’ve been training with Coach Maryann since their opening (6 months now!) and I’ve been very happy with my results. The coaches/owners provide you with everything that you would need at a gym. They have clean bathrooms and showers, chalk for your heavy-lifting needs, and a snack cabinet if you’re ever in need of a quick energy boost. They’ve created an amazing gym family that welcomes everyone to begin or continue their lifting journey. If you’re looking for a new gym to workout in, this is the one for you. Stop by for a gym tour with one of the coaches, you won’t regret it!!

I trained with Vince for a year prior to moving for grad school. I transitioned from xfit to olympic weightlifting and had never attempted a snatch over 65 lbs. A year after working with Vince, he had me hitting 80kg (176 lbs, twice, on VERY good days). He tailors a specific program to you based on your fitness goals, mobility needs, and experience level. Vince and Maryann are a dynamic duo that are committed to their athletes growth. I highly recommend this gym!

TL;DR: a SUPER community-oriented, beginner and advanced friendly powerlifting gym with stellar coaches. Since joining 4 mo ago, my progress and physical/mental strength has skyrocketed. I'd recommend taking them up on their 1-tour offer, which really convinced me! --- While cliché to say, Invincible Barbell has really changed my life. I had 0 experience in powerlifting before walking into this gym around 4 months ago, not knowing whether I'd even like it. As a woman and as someone who never seriously competed in sports growing up, powerlifting felt very intimidating. Fast forward to today, I'm so much stronger (not only physically, but mentally!) and excited to compete in my very first meet in a few weeks. For anyone considering stopping by for a tour, I'd HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. I dropped into several weightlifting/powerlifting gyms and classes in SF before committing to a membership here, and choosing Invincible was standout on a few axes: 1) The coaches: MaryAnn is my coach and she nails the difficult balance of creating a safe space for failure and pushing me to be my best. She also has been unbelievably patient in introducing and reviewing powerlifting fundamentals with me, given that I had no training or knowledge beforehand. Vince, as many others here have attested, is also awesome though I do not regularly train with him like I do with MaryAnn :) 2) The programming: MaryAnn has a structured, block-based training plan for me, which is clearly optimized based on my day-to-day sessions, which I think has been the difference between slow and skyrocketing progress in all of my #s (Squat, Bench, Deadlift). She also is more than happy to program in remote or accessory workouts should I request them, or make ad hoc changes if I need to miss a session or two due to travel/work. The monthly membership seems costly on first glance but the amount of individualized coaching+attention and value I've gotten make it a super good deal, IMHO! 3) The community: many gyms like to boast this, but the powerlifting M/W/F class has truly become my second home here in SF. You get to see the same friendly faces 3x a week, who will cheer for you in training max-out days or just because. MaryAnn also regularly schedules gym hangouts that are very well-attended such as picnics and Halloween parties. 4) The facilities: the gym has always had any kind of bar a member could ask for and more platforms than I have seen in any other gym. In the past few months, MaryAnn and Vince have also been adding new equipment and renovations (though I think we already had everything we could've wanted/needed). If I haven't convinced you yet and you're still reading this, I'd recommend scheduling a gym tour via their website to check it out. That's what certainly convinced me :)

I’ve been going to Invincible Barbell for three months now, and I’ve improved more in that time than I did the whole pandemic. From 2020 until fall of this year, I was working with an online trainer. Once things started to open up, I wanted a coach, but didn’t want to shell out the money for a personal trainer. At Invincible Barbell, I’m getting world class coaching from someone who not only specializes in Olympic Lifting, but is also actively competing. Coach Vince is awesome! The class is setup so 8 people can use the platforms at a given time, and the coach is present to give on-the-spot feedback. I didn’t get that with the online training. I wanted somewhere I could lift safely, knowledgeable coaches, and a lifting community, and I’m getting all of that here. I’m not a powerlifter, but if you’re looking to do that, Coach Maryanne is also here to help. I can’t speak from experience, but I’ve heard great things about her. She’s also knowledgeable and actively competing. There’s also a beginner class if you’re just getting started with lifting. I come here three days a week and lift in my garage gym three days a week. Coach Vince also gives me workouts to do in my garage, so I don’t have to program them myself. To sum up, I’ve improved so much since coming to Invincible Barbell. They have everything I need and then some to help me reach my goals. I also like the community they create and can’t wait for my first competition early in 2024.

This gym is awesome! I love it when I was living in SF this was my gym and the community plus the coaching was awesome. There is a powerlifting coach Mary Ann and a Olympic weightlifting coach Vince. Both do an amazing job I personally made major improvements on my snatch technique. Vince really helped me progress and still does as an online coach. The coaches and members would set up bonfire days, potlucks and such which would make you feel like a family. Overall if you’re into powerlifting or weightlifting check this gym out!
