Fantastic place! Fast service, freshly prepared dumplings on site. The baked black truffle beef Baos were a definite must not miss if you enjoy meat. Good vegetarian and pescatarian options. Large and varied menu. Lovely clean restroom! Do not miss this gem!

Very good! Food came out fresh, they make their own dumplings, which you can watch them doing. Pro tip: if you want the souffle for dessert, it takes 30 minutes to make, so order it when you sit down.

Absolutely enjoyed having lunch at bao! 😍 First thing that caught my eye was the staff preparing fresh dumplings visible from the outside window 👀 The sweet honey shrimp are amazing if you like sweet and sour 🍤 The first one on the list (Xiao Long) with chicken and soup inside were my favorite! 🤤 Sweet Bao Specials is an excellent choice for the dessert ones so that you have a taste of them all, although my top pick for those has been the egg custard one! 🤩 Would certainly go back again! 😎

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of their food. It is top notch. In fact I ordered delivery and their food still tastes far better than all other similar restaurants at SF. And yet I have tried all other popular places, dining in. Their dough is just so well made, thin and chewy. The inside filling is juicy and properly seasoned, umami and delicious, and you can taste the true flavor of the ingredients. And the lava bun is one of best I have had, great balance of sweet and saltiness, only lightly sweetened. And it does not taste greasy. I am very happy with my meal. Even though it is delivery, I could already imagine how good it would have been if I were to dine in. By the way, the chili sauce is super good.

Everything was cute and decently good quality, especially given the price. I enjoyed the baked pork bao and taro puffs the most, but if I had to nitpick it was a little greasier than I’d like. The soup dumplings were also a bit disappointing, not a lot of filling nor soup. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for dimsum but nothing mind blowing.

Recommended the seafood dumplings. The dough is thin and the filling is juicy. I order shumai because I see there kitchen. They look fresh and taste freshly. Even though dishes are tasty but the price is too expensive than I try in other place. Worthy to try and date!!

As a first timer at bao, I enjoyed my time and our meal. The waiters were extremely nice and the food came out pretty quick. I was actually surprised of their timing considering they were getting busy - dinner time. We had some steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed vegetarian dumplings, fried shrimp dumplings, vegetarian potstickers, and our favorite was the baked BBQ pork bao. I highly recommend.

The place is not worth the hype at all. First of all, the food is overpriced and the food and dining quality doesn’t back it up. They charge $4 per pot of tea for one person, which is ridiculous at any Chinese restaurant. The dim sums we got were the most mid ones ever. The skin for har gows and sweet buns are very soggy and even ripped apart. They put soup dumplings in the little tin tubs, showing that they don’t have enough trust in the dumpling skin and are afraid they will break and spill the soup. The water cups we got were also dirty, smeared with oil stains and unknown black particles. On top of that, they charge 18% tips without any sign on the menu or verbal notice. Even the check doesn’t specify it and still leaves a tip section. This is unethical for a restaurant, especially for a low quality restaurant like this.
