I travel the country for months at a time for work and find temporary homes for myself, Sam's Tavern is one of those. Great food, drinks, and service. Paulie, Dave, Jill, and Mark treat you as family. This round of work I visited no less than 3 days a week. I am sad to be visiting my final day today. I feel like Norm from Cheers when walking in!

Sam's Tavern is a super welcoming place with a great friendly atmosphere. If you're into sports, I noticed the TV screens broadcasting the World Cup and highlights from a Warriors game. Looking for a good strong drink that hits the spot for happy hour? I recommend you try the Manhattan!

This was my first time in a sports bar watching a full football game. I couldn't have asked for a cooler place, the owner was really nice and everyone accomodated our large group and took real good care of us. The energy in here was infectious as well, for someone with not a lot of frame of reference for the actual game, I was feeding off of the energy in here. Also, get the chillie fries, they're so good.

This is a fun and lovely tavern with friendly staff, great beers, and delicious food! We highly recommend the grilled fish tacos and fish and chips!

Awesome Sportsbar, food is amazing (the steak sandwich is delicious!), great atmosphere and the bartender Dave is awesome and he can smell if you need another drink 😉

Found this sports bar with generally good reviews. Went in to watch some football. Long common table with stools was mostly open with a couple guys on one end. Ordered food and a beer and struck up conversation with others at the table. Food was not very good but I am not one to make a fuss. Felt good when the guy behind the bar cleared my plates and thanked me for coming in. Feeling was short lived. Waitress came over and I was ready to order another beer but she instead asked me to relocate to the crowded bar so she could make room for some other folks who wanted the entire side of the common table where I happened to be occupying one seat. I was ready to look past the food at the time, but telling me my business was not worth having me keep my seat at the common table where I had been sitting was too much. I found another place happy to have my business.

Basic human respect and service with dignity not values at Sam's. After ordering some bottled waters, the manager aggressively and rudely demanded my party move to the bar as someone else wanted the table. Not fun to be bullied or treated like trash. Sam's no longer a contender for local hangout or dinner place. Food was okay tho.

Highly recommended. One of the best places in SF. Had breakfast there and loved it. You gotta try the corn beef, you won’t be disappointed.
