This was a very disappointing experience. I'm not used to paying to enter a church. $12 per person is a lot of money to charge. I've been to many Catholic Churches that contain old master's works. They never charge and consequently people are happy to give generously for the privilege. If you're going to charge $12 you need to provide a quality service. The thin pamphlet you get doesn't even come close to giving any quality information about the items in the church. There are a few scattered iPads but they were just as useless. The church itself it nice to see. The Neo-gothic architecture is fun and the stained glass windows are very pretty. The murals should really have some sort of description. The animated Jacobs Ladder is very interesting to see. The two "Labyrinths" are a joke. They are just outlines and not labyrinths at all. I don't see the point - and there was no description of any value. You guys really need to do a LOT better.

One of San Francisco’s iconic churches located atop of Nob Hill. The church has previously partnered with local artists to put on laser displays on the church’s facade, and to put on a light and sound show inside the church itself. When either of these happens again, you simply have to go! They play music and it’s so beautiful and magical to watch the light display from inside of the pitch black church.

If I could I would if given it 4.75 stars because of one thing which I’ll mention at the end. Great and well kept building. Just stepping inside makes you gasp of the beauty inside those plain exterior walls. From the stairs to the smallest details on the door portraits it’s all amazing. It’s filled with too many pieces of architectural wonder to describe you simply have to see it. It’s a long walk up and down so it might be easier on the knees to get a ride. Lastly the only reason I would give it a 4.75 review is because it seems like you have to pay even to step inside.

Grace Cathedral is such a beautiful church in Nob Hill. Peaceful, elegant and well- maintained. A little hard to find out parking lot around ⛪️. You better take bus on weekend.

Although SF is not know for its cathedrals, if you are to visit one cathedral in SF, this is it. Standing on top of Nob Hill, this is one of SF's most stunning cathedral.

Back in March of 2010 I had the wonderful experience of touring Grace Cathedral in San Francisco and viewed artistic and architectural beauty there. The photos I have posted also include the display of amazing Keith Haring art pieces. I wasn't sure if it was on permanent display or just there for a limited period. Nevertheless, it's still very worthwhile to visit Grace Cathedral for its architectural beauty and tall ceilings!

Worth a visit. $12 adult admission. There is a lot of history and art tucked into every corner. Don’t miss the interfaith AIDS Memorial chapel with Keith Haring altarpiece triptych.

Beautiful on the outside, unfortunately it was closed when I arrived so I wasn’t able to see the interior. I walked around the whole place. Nice benches for sitting in the courtyard. Nice lovely neighborhood with a nice dog park across from the east entrance.

Gorgeous church!! The detail is amazing. A must see in San Francisco. It wasn't open due to an event but I peeked in. Make sure you check the website before going.

This cathedral is beautiful, situated in the nice neighborhood of Nob Hill. It reminds me of the ones you find in Europe although this one is more simple than those. Anyway, it’s a great place full of spiritual meaning. We visited it during Christmas time, there are many concerts available through different days. There was also a beautiful Christmas tree decorated with origami and with written wishes. Just magical!

I really enjoy visiting cathedrals and this one did not disappoint . If you arrive in the morning when the sun is coming in from the east you’ll enjoy an incredible light display from the stained glass windows . Beautiful architecture. A very peaceful experience . Free to visit

A good place to learn some history about the city and the church. A little u accepted thing is they need to buy tickets, and the church itself, unlike Sagrada Familia, does not have enough things to see, just a church a little bigger and more historical than your neighborhood one.

Very good place to start a tour. Many good hotels are around there. Take cable car to Chinatown.

Absolutely delightful. One should visit the church just to see it. Very peaceful, and the architecture is a must-see. You have to pay for a visit. I think $12 for adults

Grace Cathedral holds Keith Harring’s last piece of art - a stunning altar piece. Beautiful labyrinths in the floors for contemplation. Glorious architecture. A real palace of Peace.

A spectacular soaring Gothic Cathedral in California. Grace Cathedral is a gem and an unusual cathedral for California. It reminds one more of a Cathedral in Europe. The stained glass is magnificent. The music program is top notch. The Evensong Service on Thursday evening is particularly beautiful and moving.

One of the architecturally standout buildings in San Francisco with a large and unique stained glass window. Serene atmosphere within. Impressive programs to interest people. Walking the labyrinth there is a must have experience. They used to regularly host yoga classes on Tuesdays which were great. Location right at the top of nob hill makes it easy to walk down in any direction and still find yourself in some or the other iconic neighborhood in San Francisco. Lovely place.

Beautiful church in Nob hill. We were lucky last Sunday to see a live performance there. Surrounding area is safe and clean. Very good view of San Francisco from there. That area is not good for biking although.

It is very disappointing that Grace Cathedral is no longer hosting the Festival of Remember service, a tradition which goes back many decades. This wonderful, well attended event was co-hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion. It is a terrible shame that in that magnificent Cathedral, we are deprived of getting together and honoring the fallen who gave their lives during the two great wars. It was a very moving service. One can't imagine that the Reverend Alan Jones (who presided over the event for many years) would not have condoned the Cathedral's decision to cancel this event. E. Ian Chadwick

What a beautiful Sunday mass celebration at a really open parish at a gorgeous Anglican cathedral.
