I hate leaving bad reviews... The food is good/decent. But not worth the bad service, long wait, and unhygienic and unclean building. One of the servers soiled themselves while we were there as well. My heart hurts for the man, but at the same time, I was worried about the customers and establishments cleanliness. It was very disappointing for all the hype we have heard about it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Nanking. It was raining out, but we sat outside anyway and even got a little wet on the sidewalk- but it all added to the experience! The owner greeted us and when we explained we had a gluten-free eater with us, he said he would order for us (all of us) and they explained everything clearly when they brought it out. Two dishes were gluten-free (first two photos). They brought out two appetizers and three other dishes. It was extraordinary. The ribs fell off the bones. The honey glazed apple shrimp was amazing. And the mustard sauce on two of the dishes was phenomenal. Don’t miss this restaurant!

This is exactly the restaurant you want to eat at when visiting Chinatown in San Francisco! All the food was beyond delicious! We had soups, egg pockets and amazing steamed buns. I could eat the soup every single day. The crisp rice in the light broth was heaven! The steam tofu bun was so simple but perfect! I really liked the egg pocket and I know how amazing it was but it paled next to the soup and buns. I would choose the buns if you’re on the fence and can only get one. The service was fast and efficient and still everyone managed to be very warm and friendly. I’ll definitely be back and can see why this place is so loved!

Service was great and quick- which we needed because our kids started to get super tired from our day. The food was good but not as great as I had hoped, I still highly recommend this spot. We ate at an off time (3pm) and were seated immediately!

Absolutely incredible restaurant. The food was very unique Chinese fusion. When we sat down and explained one of us had a gluten allergy the waiter said don't worry I'll take care of you and order for you. And we are so grateful he did! We had an incredible assortment of dishes that were all made to be gluten free. Come here expecting the untraditional and delicious!

Great place to eat. Had lunch here, seating was available. During dinner time, I have seen people waiting outside in line, therefore chose to go for lunch. Food was terrific. I'd recommend the hot and sour (with vegetables). I lliked it 😋. Also go for the Sizzling Fried Rice (is bit oily in my opinion). They will bring the cooked rice in a hot pan to the table. They will pour the egg yolk mixed with their spices creating the sizzling effect and mix it in front of you. After it's done, I'd recommend you to put the rice on your plate. If you leave it on the pan for long, then the bottom part gets slightly burnt and is stuck to pan. Credit cards are accepted. Restrooms available for customers.

This food was average, not mind blowing according to other reviews. Also, the waiters were not that helpful. This is a pretty good place if you want to come but will probably not come again.

Some of the best food I have ever eaten. I’m vegetarian and the options were amazing. From the house noodles to the tofu and broccoli in black bean sauce to the onion cakes with peanut sauce. It was utter mouth watering perfection. My friends also enjoyed the wonton soup. The service and atmosphere were homey and awesome and the food was spectacular.
