After a wonderful weekend in San Fran visiting my sister, we were hoping to end off the trip with a nice dinner on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. We pulled up to the Brixton and were initially surprised… why so empty? We gave the empty restaurant the benefit of the doubt and we’re excited because we thought this would turn into a quick and quiet meal. The two waitresses almost appeared to sigh when we walked in, and it took them a solid 3 minutes to tell us that we had to seat ourselves. We took a seat and we’re given some water and the menu’s. We browsed the menu’s fairly quickly, since the menu is the smallest I’ve seen in years. We knew what we wanted, and waited patiently for the waitress to return. We would look over and see the waitresses gossip in their little corner while completely ignoring us. After a solid 20 minutes and all our water completely chugged, we had to make the decision to get up from the table and leave the restaurant. They didn’t even notice, which is shocking because we were like the only ones in the bare restaurant. If you are looking for a solid cup of water and to be ignored for 20 minutes, I’d recommend this place. However, if you are hoping to order a meal and get good service, I’d advise you stay far away. Do better Brixton.

I've come here a few times and have enjoyed the visits! (+) Cocktails are really good. (+) Garlic shrimp - really good, sauce is delicious, as is the toasted bread, shrimp is well cooked. (+) Fried short ribs - yum! Loved the okra in it. (+) Chili con queso - a bit overpriced, but it was delicious, and we ordered a side of guac too. ( ) Mushroom soup was pretty average, but really good for the price and it was satisfying (was the soup of the day) (+) Short rib grilled cheese - yummy! Lots of short rib, bread was delicious, cheese was delicious. Came with a refreshing salad. (+) Mussels - you get a very good amount of mussels and chorizo meatballs (weird combo that works out super well!) and the sauce is super good. (+) Cool digs - they re-did the place really nicely, love the decor, the bar and the high tops at the front of the restaurant and the more sit down tables towards the back. There are also two private rooms for parties. (+) Lots of TVs to watch sports games (+) HH everyday during certain hours and all day on Tuesdays Definitely going to be coming here often!

Great ambiance and space, but food quality was lacking. Breakfast sandwich: 6/10. Egg fried at too high of a temperature, hash browns were too dry, and English muffins did not appear to be at their freshest. Carnitas Hash: 5/10. Ratio of tortilla strips to other components too high. Pork and potatoes were fine, but did not stand out.

OVERALL: 5/5 Food/Drinks: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Their Happy Hour deal is such an amazing deal. Food is excellent (albeit small portions) but how can you go wrong with $3 for two sliders. We had - Beer ($4) - Margarita ($7) but the base was $5 - Nachos ($3) - Sliders ($3) for 2!!! How can you beat these pricing in this day and age? And they were delicious. They have Happy Hour from 5pm to Closing … you will see me there most Thursdays

Stopped by for a couple of cocktails here and that was about it, didn't get to sample the food. Cocktails were fairly good, service was about the same. Key was their outdoor seating, it was a nice way to enjoy the rare sunny day in July. Will return at some point to try the food.

This place was overpacked to the point it was likely exceeding its fire code capacity. The bartender and manager refused to serve us an advertised drink special even though we were within the time frame listed for the deal. They then served us drinks with mid-shelf alcohol without asking, and quickly snatched back the card reader from my hands while we were questioning the price before we selected a tip option. If you’re not into overpriced, overcrowded, sweaty bars with shifty management and staff, I wouldn’t recommend The Brixton.

This place used to have something. $15 drinks plus tax plus SF Mandate plus tip and you’re at well over $20 per drink to sit next to 20 mid tier bankers in Patagonia vests at their work happy hour. $22 for a burger challenges Spruce… only in price. Tragic how this used to be the go to place to gawk at 6 foot 5 marina freaks of water polo nature and now I’m both the tallest and shortest person here at 5 foot 6.

Chilaquiles are off the hook, drinks are on point and the place is great. A lot of wall art, double ceiling and outdoor seating. Definitely recommend checking in out.

I love this bar. The decor, the vine, the staff...it's a great place to hang out. My hubby and I came out today to watch the world cup and eat brunch. The bartender was friendly and attentive and the food was good.

My experience with this restaurant told me an early dinner is when I might receive the best service so I arrived 5:15pm on a Friday evening and I was right but unfortunately business did not pick up much while I was there. And much to my delight there was a vegetarian selection on the menu (a seasonal Summer vegetable pasta). I was quite pleased with the service and menu items I received today.

A nice, open space on Union Street to sit by the window and watch passers-by while having a beer and a pretty darn good Brixton Burger with fries.

Arrived for brunch before noon, it was not busy at all which is interesting and pleasant for a Cow Hollow location. The ambiance was calm, the music was shockingly great (alternative r&b)and great drinks, I ordered a mimosas & espresso martini. The food was good and each item had its own twist.

Enjoyable time watching the Warriors beat the Celtics in the playoffs. Rachel and her team were amazing even with the big, boisterous and fun crowd. Recommend the bang bang shrimp 🍤!

Looking for a restaurant we haven't tried before, we strolled into Brixton on a Saturday morning. While it has a reputation as a go-to sports bar on Union St., we found they have a great breakfast menu to experiment with as well. Which we did and enjoyed.

Food was very good. Service was slow. They ran out of Bloody Mary mix on a big brunch day. One of the best spinach and artichoke dips I’ve ever had.

Our food was good. My group all had a burger and fries, the burgers were pretty ok, nothing too stand out; but the sweet potato fries were excellent and easily best part of the meal.

Probably the worst old fashion I’ve ever had. Bad whiskey no orange flavor, zero simple syrup. Just not good. Like bad. Try harder

I came here on NYE without reservation, hotel was nearby. They had the cutest little balloons around and looked like a great spot. They played great music (rock/reggae/new and old hits). We were immediately sat down and the hostess was our server. We had the guac which was a little steep $ but was a great app with our several drinks we ordered. The bartender came to our high top several times to ensure we were properly set up. Great time! Great drinks !!!!

First time trying the food from here so we got burgers. Very tasty but would be so much better if the patties were cooked right , not raw . I literally had to recook the meat myself at home. :(

Since I can’t drink because my every move is watched, I ordered a mocktail. It was good. The servers were very flippant and didn’t notice much, akin to how a person under the influence of marijuana would behave. No accusations here, just my observation. It was clear they also only focused on the tables with a lot of people seated, who were ordering a lot of alcohol. Makes sense to me because they make more money that way, however unacceptable for the rest of the customers. Loud people also get noticed more, which is unfortunate because they’re generally average or below average IQ. My server never came back to check on me or to bring the check, so I didn’t leave a tip, and I’m a good tipper! So that’s telling you how bad it was. Second time getting poor service here. The first time they wouldn’t even seat us so we left. I won’t be back for the burger unless I’m with my boyfriend because he’s an a**hole. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place. It’s for idiots. But the burger does look good. It’s a shame.
