I'll foreword this by saying I know it's not a fancy hotel and for the price you can't expect too much considering the area and proximity to downtown. However the hotel itself is definitely older, has a smell and general on the down and down. The first room I was in had a sink with a knob for separate hot and cold water which you have to hold in order to get the water to flow. The shower is literally small enough for one person and thankfully I ordered it to be in room, if it was shared there is literally no where to put any of your clothing. The hotel itself was fairly quiet, the other tenants weren't loud and housekeeping will change your towels and make your bed if you need it. Also in my first room the phone line was broken and the TV had no remote. I ended up going to a new room which was much better. I'll also say it's the only hotel elevator I've ever seen with rug on the walls of the elevator instead of plastic or wood, so very fancy clearly. The neighborhood is definitely interesting and has some "colorful" characters, it's not dangerous but just be aware..

Well - there is a reason for that, that it is cheap - the rooms are small and furnished with old furniture. The bed was OK though and the toilet had been recently refreshed. The street is not too safe at night due to the amount of homeless people (although none of them did insult us in any way).

The rate was good for SF and it was clean & quiet. The location is across from Civic Center Bart on Market which likely explains the cost & if you mind your own business, it's not a problem. The room was small but had lots of soap & extra towels in my closet. The staff was nice. The TV was analog so channels were super limited but I stayed only one night so that wasn't the problem it could have been. I'd say all things considered including my own bathroom & the price, I guess it wasn't bad.

This place is right in the middle of the city. I loved this hotel and the service. I like how they closed their gate because this area is filled with homeless people. The room is essential, but it has all the enmities needed for the stay. Soaps, warm water, bathroom, clean sheets, everything was perfect. Although there was a heater missing in the room, and it was a chilly night, so we requested a portable heater. They gladly provided that for the room. The people at the reception are friendly. We also dropped our baggage at the reception after checking out without any problems. In all class A services.

The hotel has a real vintage charm to it. Its a very old building thats been kept up well. There's something about it I can't put my finger on. Even the smell is antique. I'm definitely not used to the shared bathroom concept but it seems to be the norm here in SF. There are private rooms too with bathrooms and all the bathrooms ARE CLEAN and ARE CLEANED regularly. The rooms are also clean. Honestly, before I settled here I checked several other hotels in the area. Giampaolo, Romero, and the staff ARE THE NICEST AND MOST KIND OF THEM ALL. The rooms are stocked with Dail soap and double ply tissue and lots of towels. This is the nicest and cleanest hotel for the price. I HAVE LOOKED. You just can't beat it. The location is ideal to get around and see the city. Hard drug use is VERY casual in SF and there's a Harm Reduction Site a block down and across the street. Be kind, courteous, and short and you should be okay. Regardless of if they use or not there are many interesting people walking around outside. You can't really hold it against Aida because any other hotel you stay in the Tenderloin will have the same environment as well as some parts of SOM and Mission. SF still has work to do on the corruption in their government/real-estate coupled with the wealth/income inequity that pushes locals to poverty, homelessness, and drugs. Other than that you can literally walk out the door and hop on any bus or streetcar and explore the entire city. I have done it.

I am sorry to write this review but facility is not only extremely old, staff is also out of any logic behavior. After the first night I slept to this hotel I asked for a refund of my other 3 nights (being that I had to move somewhere else). My reservation through booking was unrefundable. Thanks to booking.com we convinced the facility to refund me at least 50% of the whole price (they said they couldn’t refund me the whole 3 nights since reservation was unrefundable, even if I wasn’t gonna sleep there it wasn’t their problem).

This is a great little hotel right on Market Street. It's not a 5 star hotel, but I gave it 5 stars because it's a nice hotel with friendly staff at the desk, clean lobby with old juke boxes on display and interesting furniture in public spaces. Clean small rooms. Staff told me all rooms now have bathrooms in each room. Front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Feels very secure. Room key must be left at the front desk. No parking but plenty of parking garages nearby and you can load/unload in a large loading zone right in front of the hotel.

Old hotel but that's known already, no AC in the room but it was alright in late may, the staff are friendly, free coffee and microwave in the lobby, location is good close to metro and bus stop

If you're looking for a hotel that comes with most modern features, this is probably not the one for you. It's a quaint 111 year old building and with a similar charm. The staff was absolutely wonderful! The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. This hotel is in a great location of you're prepared to deal with the a-typical inner city issues that most major cities have. You're in walking distance to hundreds of restaurants a well as the downtown shopping district. It's nestled in between the Trans district and the historical Folsom area. The cable car stop is right in front of the hotel giving you easy access to the Castro, Chinatown and Fisherman's Warf. Perfect for the price considering it's location and the fact that you'll probably not be spending too much time there as you'll want to be out exploring all of what San Francisco has to offer!

When you reach the entrance in front of the main street, you need to knock the front door. Now, the front door is always closed in order to enter the hotel. Staff member was friendly. Although the hotel is very old, repair of the rooms is proceeding. I love this hotel. You can access easily from the civic center station of BART in one minute.

I did stay at this hotel in July 2019 and at their regularly posted rates, they are clean and a good value for the rates charged. I booked a confirmed room for $110 a night on Agoda on June 13, 2023 for three nights. Around July 15, the Aida Plaza informed me that the rate was too low and since my dates of September 20-23 was high seasons. They demanded $190 per night take it or leave it. This was a 72 percent increase on a confirmed reservation! I left it and found a much better deal closer to Downtown SF. Message is: be very careful booking this hotel. They do not honor the rates they confirm to you. Perhaps they have small print that they can make these capricious changes. If so, they are an outlier!

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff was nice, rooms were clean , the beds were just right for two people. The view was so pretty. For what I paid for I will give it 4 stars will definitely be staying here again soon. Also there are homeless people out on the streets but will not bother you if you don’t bother them. Had an amazing time at the show I went too but an even better time having somewhere nice and comfy to go to afterwards :)
