The Hotel is riddled with cockroaches. My room was dirty with stinks in the bed sheds. The restrooms are very poorly maintenance and dirty. The building is old and smells in between a combination of weed and smoke. The family that runs the business is always watching you, they are not very friendly and made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. During my staying I was just afraid to get robbed of my personal items. The neighborhood is full of homeless and junkies. The hotel is affordable but I strongly recommend to find another place unless you really really don't have the extra money. I will not even think in staying at this place again. I regret not reading the reviews before made the booking.

Walked in my room just long enough to look around and leave. Would like a refund but haven't heard anything. Guy at the desk was nice though. Found a nice hotel a couple of blocks away and left!

Booked this hotel for 6 days and had to check out after the first day. The room itself was fine, nothing spectacular but that’s to be expected of a cheap room. There is no parking - which was one of the reasons we booked and would have paid more for a hotel room if we knew parking would be $51/day. The other HUGE issue was the unwanted guests that seem to be infesting this place. We noticed our bathroom had cockroaches in it, and ended up checking out after the first night. The staff were very polite but the roaches and lack of cleanliness led us to checkout and find other hotels. For the same price you pay for the room and parking - you can go to the marina district and get 5x the bang for your buck. Use caution when staying here.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were lovely and very kind. My issue with the place was the cleanliness. Floors in my room were quite sticky and didn’t seem like they were cleaned very well , likewise the sink as well wasn’t very clean. Had to kill 3 cockroaches 🪳🪳🪳in my room which was very off putting. I dunno how often the cleaners come but definitely had to go out of my way to make sure my bin was emptied. Bathroom wasn’t very clean and there were cockroaches 🪳🪳there too. Reflecting on this I guess I paid for what I got, but I have been to other cheap accomodations that still had cleaner standards so I’m mildly disappointed. Staff were really nice though.

This is a 1 star hotel at best. They advertise free parking and don’t even have the capacity to offer paid parking. Room was disgusting, down to the towels and sheets and reeked of urine and mold. There was drug dealing happening on the premises and too many people that made the premises feel unsafe. So bad I went and stayed elsewhere.

This hotel is a very old building and has an unfortunate location in the tenderloin district; which is not the safest in SF. However, it became apparent after 5 nights that the staff is truly passionate about running the hotel. They are alert, checking cameras and staying at the desk all through the night. They allowed us to keep our heavy bags there an extra day and are doing their best given the circumstance. This is a hotel on a budget: it is not for everyone. The rooms were quite clean, we had no complaints. The shared bathrooms and showers have a few bugs only late at night (I recommend the staff check the windows and seal the tile) I felt moved to leave a 5 star review because of the staff here; we stayed for a week and they made us feel secure and taken care of in the Tenderloin!

Good if you're absolutely broke, and don't mind being in the midst sketchy tenderloin. Be prepared for the 24/7 sounds of people getting beatup, arguing, bad rap, car windows breaking, and dogs barking, and it only gets louder after dark. The rooms are extremely outdated and furnished with what I'm pretty sure they got for free of the side of the side of the road. All linen including Blankets, sheets, we're unwashed, found a roach in the middle of the room when I turned the light on. You get no towels or even soap.

We stayed here for 5 nights in two stays, the staff was amazing and lovely went out of their way to help us. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bed was comfortable as well. It’s a cool older building that is neat to be inside. It is in the tenderloin but I never felt unsafe in the area even as a single woman walking alone, everyone was very nice. It’s blocks from just about everything, right on public transit and the rooms door keys open the front door for security. 10/10 would stay again next time we are in San Francisco. Was the best most affordable place in the city. A lot of people complained about the parking and noise, but it’s downtown SF those two things are expected!! There is paid parking beside the hotel and well San Francisco is noisy 😂

The hotel wbsolutely disgusting. Having stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past 60 years this is the worst by far. Roaches in the bed, no sleep due to outside noise, breakfast is a joke (a coffee machine and a domestic toaster with standing room only). The website is completely dishonest. Rooms are tiny, service nil, and a pervading aroma of marijuana throughout the hotel. A microwave with no plug, a bath with no plug it goes on. 5 days of misery which spoilt our taste of San Francisco. DO NOT STAY HERE. In retrospect one star is too much.

Horrible - avoid avoid avoid. We stayed for one night although we had initially booked for four. Awful area, unclean, lots of homelessness, it doesn’t feel safe to walk around during the day never mind at night. The hotel itself is also unclean and massively run down. It’s more of a hostel than a hotel. The room was filthy with stained sheets, blinds and unfinished walls. There was also a really odd smell, quite musty and sweet. You are right on the street so the traffic is loud. This would be fine if it wasn’t for the loud, crackly boombox music between about 01:00-05:00 - lots of homeless people gathered around dancing, shouting and banging on windows/doors. It felt so unsafe. We couldn’t sleep so we booked another hotel in a different area and checked out as soon as we could. Please avoid here - it is not a holiday hotel, it’s a hostel for those looking for a cheap place to crash.

Upon reading previous reviews I still decided to stay here because I’ll try anything once. And I can personally say that all the people complaining about the bathroom or the rooms not being what they wanted. What did you really expect? You get what you pay for in life. If you thought the bathroom was bad why didn’t you get a private bathroom, cause mine was fine. If your room was sub par, what did you expect for less than a $100 a nite. I personally have no complaints about this place and actually like the vintage look and most of all the vintage elevator I think that’s the best parts about this place. Including the service you guys were great thank you for always accommodating me.

I suppose you get what you pay for. Basic clean room with cable TV. A mouse ran across the floor. No A/C, maybe common in San Francisco, only ceiling fan and old plug-in heaters. Stains on shower curtains No window curtains or screens, only shades Slight graffiti on the bathroom door frame New beds stacked in the hallway Rooms under rehabilitation with doors open

Ok so...the hotel is old and smells weird especially the rooms. The bed had a big lean on one side so it would suck for a couple. The staff are very friendly and helpful but that does not really make up for it. Furniture is old and dirty so another let down. I was in a room with the shared bathroom and they where very clean and nice. Good water pressure and hot. While I am still sticking with my one star I would stay here again as long as the cheap prices were on.

Place was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I got a room with a private bathroom and it was nice only problem was the noise outside.

They need to step their service game up. Let me reinterate, I did have a cozy well needed sleep. Please don't get it twisted sometimes you need emergency coziness, I was able to look far pass the service and coziness they did provide

Cockroaches are everywhere, there is no AC, and there is no private bathroom. The “breakfast” simply consists of bread and coffee. Would not stay here again given the substandard living conditions and price demanded.

Went for business to find a place close to downtown. The location was awful and unsanitary. The room had no bathroom and no toilet. The lavatory situation was communal and unhygienic. Even though the place was booked for over a week, we checked out and left after the first night to book somewhere else. The staff was completely unhelpful and refused to refund, pointing at Expedia even while Expedia pointed back to them. We are planning to work directly with our bank to get our money back for the week we are not staying there.

Bad customer service. Paid for two days and then I got there had to pay extra because apparently it was a room with shared bathroom? That’s not what I signed up for when I booked it online. Terrible they will scam you here.

This hotel is super weird you have to pay extra to get a bathroom otherwise you have to share a public one down the hall.. 😵‍💫 The rooms only have ceiling fans so the rooms are super hot and stuffy. The front desk called us asking if we were gonna check out because the maid needed to clean our room.. 30 minutes before check out time. Uhhh weird.

The best deal going in SF. The rooms are clean and the staff is excellent. Short walks to some of the most popular sites is the city I will stay at the Warfield every chance I get.

Amazing customer service!!! Friendly front desk and super helpful! My friend accidentally dropped the keys in the little crack between the elevator and the staff immediately was on it. Took less than 20min to recover. The hotel room was also pretty clean and had fresh towels. The view from the room is cute considering the homeless outside. But no one bothered us, we were a group of 4 girls walking around dressed as fairy’s for Halloween and didn’t get weird vibes from anyone! Definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel. The staff were always kind and helpful. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Location: convenient, but there are no available options for parking nearby. Those available are way too expensive.

Excellent location for a hidden gem. It is quiet, clean and staff is very friendly. The beddings are clean. The towels are clean. Restrooms and showers are clean. Breakfast is all you want orange juice and coffee downstairs. The internet connection is stable and reliable. A perfect stay for a solo woman.
