This is a great family restaurant with wonderful views of the bay and great food. It was relatively easy to get a table for 7 people when we went. The kids really enjoyed their food which tells me that it was pretty high quality lol. They have great clam chowder and I had the salmon which was excellent. The dining area is very bright and energetic. It seems like a good place to go with family or for a fancier dinner. Would definitely come again when I’m in the area.

Great ambience and view but I would not say that the food is amazing. The clam chowder bread bowl was pretty standard and the sourdough bread was too complex for this dish in my opinion. Seafood risotto was flavorful but a bit salty. I like the fried calamari the most as it was fresh and fried just right so you can taste the ingredients. Tiramisu was below average. Service was great.

The Fog Harbor Fish House has great food and beverages. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing great service that is memorable. Everyone is dressed in classy attire, bringing a higher quality to the experience of being there. The fish and chips are great and the mixed drinks are well prepared and balanced. The atmosphere feels more cozy and warm, giving guests a comfortable dining experience. The views surrounding this establishment are wonderful, looking out towards the ocean and harbors. While the prices are higher, the service, quality, and overall experience is worth it. Recommended to go during happy hour, just before the dinner rush. If you can make reservations ahead of time, it’s definitely suggested as this place is busy. Great for family and friend meals with a classy vibe.

When leaving the Alcatraz boat tour this guy was talking about how hungry he was and was ready for lunch. I asked him where we were going and he said Fog Harbor! I said ‘let’s go!’ There was a ton of people waiting for tables, luckily my group likes to enjoy the weather and we were sat outside immediately. Water and sour dough bread was bright to the table. We ordered our lunch and asked the waiter to split our checks, which he kindly did. We ordered some terrific appetizer and Chicken Tenders for the non seafood eater! The seafood was fresh and interesting (interesting meaning combo of food like mussels and fries!) but all was eaten and everyone was happy! Hope you enjoy!

The was great, the restaurant is huge and has the hustle and bustle of a big restaurant. There are tons of both indoor and outside seating. The food is well prepared, and came out pretty fast and was hot like it was just made. The complimentary sour dough was a nice touch but also a little skimpy given what meals cost. Our waiter was slow and seems confused most of the time but the food made up for it somehow. The views are exceptional of the harbour and the docks. Over all it was a nice, the place was huge and felt a bit like a factory to get people in about out but if your hungry it will meet that need.

First restaurant, first stop in SF and it was the best choice!! Tried their famous clam chowder in a homemade sourdough bread bowl (say yes to the crab topping) and live/cheesy baked oysters. Food came out quickly and we were able to eat in & out before our ferry. Friendly host and server as well. The entire restaurant was decorated beautifully for the Christmas holiday, really classy and timeless decor. Every window view faced the ocean and the scenic view of the mountains/land across the sea. Would love to stop here again & definitely recommend as a 1 stop for all!

Our experience at Fog Harbor was wonderful! We showed up with a large party and they were able to accommodate us. Service was great and the atmosphere is perfect! There is a beautiful view of the bay! I suggest sitting next to the window and getting a cup of the chowder to start. All of the dishes we had were fantastic including oysters. If you are on a tight timeline I suggest reserving your table or sitting at the bar.

The clam chowder is rich and smells good. The scallop risotto is great. We like it very much. Fresh seafood and comfortable dining environment. The service staff are also friendly and attentive. It would be better if the shellfish platter had basil and more garlic and lemon.

Great place to experience Pier 39. The location, view, and quality of food create an amazing experience. The clam chowder it’s a true classic and a must, and the mixed seafood platter helps having a great taste of sourcing and cuisine quality of this venue. It’s my second time around and the level of consistency is impressive. Would come again and recommend you to. Reservations are a great idea.

Amazing experience at the Fog Harbor Fish House. Although you may have to book and maybe wait for up to an hour until you get a table, it's well worth it. Very classy and the food is well presented. Quality of food is also in a very high standard. A great place to unwind with friends, family, or a couple out on a date. Totally recommend this place if you decide to head out to the peer 39.

I've been lucky enough to visit San Fran twice this year, and this restaurant was excellent the first time around that we went again. Yes, it's that good. The views, service, and food are incredible. The crab risotto [first visit] was perfection. This time, I had the stuffed crab ravioli, again, perfection. They have ruined crab for me everywhere else 😅. My husband and sister enjoyed their dishes just as well. Of course, the chowder in the sourdough bread bowl is a must. If you are in the fisherman's wharf area, do not hesitate!

It was so busy when we arrived and were told it was going to be a 20 min wait. 7 min later we were seated at the window overlooking the bay. It’s Fleet Week in SF-so we had a front row seat the Blue Angels and their air show. The service was prompt and our server was so friendly. The food was FANTASTIC. We ordered the Alcatraz Escape cocktail which was delicious. Bruschetta for a starter, which had great flavor. My husband ordered the mix grill and I ordered the halibut. We both loved our choices. Th e sauce with the Halibut was out of this world-so flavorful and satisfying. We finished dinner off with a shared strawberry shortcake. The “biscuit” was a cross between a biscuit and a cream puff shell. The cream was so smooth and the strawberries fresh. Would give it 12 stars out of 10. Definitely recommend. .

Nice, friendly vibe for a family meal. Really tasty dishes, lobster probably one of the best tasting I've had so far. Everything else on my plate didn't make sense and presentation looked careless and haphazardly thrown together last minute. The extra flavour from whatever it was cooked with really enhanced the natural flavours. Better than some michelin star places in flavour... but just talking about the lobster, here.

Delicious fresh seafood! Service was quick and friendly, waiting time was also pretty efficient. We waited around 30 minutes by walk in, explored the wharf meanwhile and received a notification when our table was ready. Their oyster is a must try, super tasty and fresh. Definitely have to try their clam chowder, no wonder it’s an award winning dish! Their shellfish platter is also delicious, as well as their scallop risotto! If you are a seafood fan, definitely check this place out! There is a also a decent selection of wines offered at the restaurant!

Located opposite Alcatraz, this restaurant offers great views of the bay. Our waiter was extremely busy yet always checked in on us and was really helpful and polite. The menu was really good and the food we had was really tasty (probably be the best we've had yet seafood wise). First time I've had clam chowder in a bread bowl and I really enjoyed it. Will likely return here before our time is up in San Francisco. 2nd visit a few days later and was equally as impressive. Our waiter George was friendly and helpful. Glad to have our final holiday meal here at Fog Harbor.

Got on the waitlist in Yelp app, and when I arrived, was immediately sat. Great food, we sat outside. The outside seating was individually separated with plastic barriers. Great views!! We had the soup and salad (great deal, very filling- so yummy) steamed clams appetizer, and Crab.

Fog Harbor is well known for their amazing seafood dishes. I want to comment on their other dishes, the steaks! My son and I love to eat at good steak houses here in San Francisco. We both agree that Fog Harbor has an amazing if not the best filet in the city. My son (13) likes his filet medium well (yes I know) his comments is the filet is tender and almost melts in your mouth. My filet was medium and had a nice char while still keeping on the medium side through out the filet. The grill marks added to the taste and presentation. My drink was a mojito and unlike some other restaurants had a fair amount of alcohol. Not over powering. I felt it was just right. As far as the service goes, nice staff. Food came out at a good pace even with it being as busy as it was. Nice view, ask for one if you can. You may wait a little longer but worth it.

I went in to the experience expecting tourist destination food and prices and therefore had a good time. I ordered the Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl and Caesar salad. The chowder was stick-to-your-ribs warm and savory and the Caesar was pleasantly tangy with crispy romaine. The service was friendly and prompt and the dining area was nicely decorated for the upcoming holidays.

The restauraunt is upstairs on the second level. Directly behind the restaurant is where you can see all the sea lions perched on the dock. Food was amazing, everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The New England clamps chowder was some of the best I have ever had. We also had the poke and calamari which was delicious. Also Great views.

It’s been many years since I’ve been to SF. A trip to Fisherman’s Wharf is a must! With so many restaurants to choose from, it was not an easy decision but we decided on Fog Harbor after comparing the menu and reviews. Turns out to be a good decision. The restaurant was huge (couldn’t tell from the outside) but it was full. Luckily I made reservations and we were given a table near the window fairly quickly. We had seared Pacific cod and lobster tails and both were delicious. The only dish that disappointed was the clam chowder in bread bowl which arrived lukewarm and felt that the taste was lacking. The service was impeccable and the ambience was cozy. I’d choose Fog Harbor again if I’m visiting SF again.

The view of this place is second to none. So beautiful. I saw seals right in front of my view swimming near the boats. The service excellent also. I’m from London so the service here is the best I have experienced than ever in my time. Food also absolutely delicious and portion sizes are huge… love it overall.
