I’ve been here a few times, and I’d still give it 5 stars every time. I love coming here around sunset to enjoy the view while eating some small bites and enjoying some cocktails. It’s at the top of the Marriott Marquis in Yerba Buena. If you want a 360 degree view of the city, definitely come up here! The views from the heart of the city is gorgeous, and the vibe is pretty cool. It can get a bit busy on the weekend, so I’d come early or come on a weekday night. There are two main sides, the best tables being right at the window. I hosted my friend’s birthday celebration at the hotel and then we came up from her room to the View Lounge and it was so convenient. Definitely recommend!

My husband and I were staying at the Marquis and decided to have a quick bite and beverage at The View Lounge right at 4pm, when they opened. As expected, the view was beautiful, so if you want a great view, then that's the spot to go. If you're going for food, this probably isn't the spot if you are foodies like us. We had gotten the beef & chicken sliders and the chicken was dry and both the sliders lacked flavor. The short rib tacos were beautiful to look at, but also lacked flavor - although they were definitely the best dish out of the three. I'm trying to figure out the best medium for rating this place, so I went with the average when considering the food, customer service & view (if I could give half stars, it would have been 3.5). We went here on our first day in SF and didn't feel the urge to return for a second visit.

I’ve been here several times now on all sorts of occasions- from friend gatherings to celebrations to dates and absolutely love it. It certainly lives up to its name by providing great views of San Francisco but also a great lounge atmosphere. Cocktail-wise, my favorite is the Haight-Ashbury and highly recommend it. It can be busy, but waiting to find a table by the windows is worth it! Getting to the View is easy. Look for the elevators with pink (may have changed) in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis and push the button for the top floor! It’s a great place.

The place was really nice. The food and drinks were also well done. We arrived like 4:30 and was really chill nothing crowded for a Friday night. Definitely something that you should try if you are on the city. Easy to park on the mission parking garage. They require the covid test. So be prepared.

The View is appropriately named with fantastic views from two sides of the top floor of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. They do not take reservations, so get there early to secure a good vantage point and enjoy their quality drinks and delicious food.

I liked the ambience of this iconic SF bar. The lights were off to not interrupt you enjoying the view of a night City. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My friends and I liked the cocktails. I’d like to come a little earlier next time to catch the sunset.

Beautiful lounge up on the very top floor of the Marriott hotel with views of the surrounding skyline from both sides, a full menu, desserts, and drinks! The staff was all very kind and attentive - impressive given how chaotic the seating felt! It's a choose your own seat sort of location, which must be stressful for servers trying to figure out where and when to come by. The cake was really tasty and the added crunch alongside the smooth texture was really a great addition. I do wish that there was more strawberry on the side, but that might just be me. Would definitely visit again!

The place has amazing views on SF, however cocktails were not the best. They weren't bad but different style to what we are used to in Europe. Non-alcoholic cocktail was way too sweet and tasted like orange juice about to expire. But chocolate cake was 10/10.

The 39th-floor lounge bar at the Marriott Marquis. While the view is undoubtedly impressive, it's best enjoyed at sunset. I did notice that the windows could use some cleaning and were a bit too dim at night. Nonetheless, it's a fine lounge. Their cocktails are all priced at $25, and I recommend the SF Manhattan – it's a strong and well-crafted drink. The bartender's skill is evident. On a separate note, our enjoyable evening, combined with some fortunate circumstances, made accessing the penthouse hotel rooms quite convenient.

The bar on the 39th floor is a great place to relax with an adult beverage. I visited on a Friday evening and it was very busy. The wait staff was very attentive. The windows are not 100% clear like the cover photo. Instead they give everything a bronze tint. That kept it from being a 5 star!

Amazing lounge at the Marriott hotel. It has magnificent panoramic view. The best rooftop lounge to have a drink and enjoy the views of San Francisco. The lounge has a 360° view of the city. This is the place for skyline lovers. The only thing is that is not enough seats around the windows. The food menu is very limited, but drinks were quite good. I’ll definitely will come for the views

As you might expect, the star here is THE VIEW. From the 39th floor of the Marriott Marquis you can see across the bay, see mountains in the distance, and be eye to eye with city skyscrapers. The drinks are decent but pricey. We had homemade potato chips with dill dip; the dip was delish. Servers are very friendly and attentive.

We were excited to see this place but couldn’t figure out where to sit (the hosts saw us lost and didn’t even try to help us). We asked a bartender where we could sit and after that, no one, literally no one came to take our order. We were there for like 15 minutes. No one came. Obviously, we left. Nice view but terrible service and not even the atmosphere was nice.

🌴@BEACHLIFECO 🌴LOVES THIS SPOT! We walked in with no reservations. You don’t need them. The bar is first come first serve. The bar is facing bottles I recommend getting the seats in the mid walkway of by the windows for the best views. Great place to have a first date or take out a loved one.

Topmost level on Marriott Marquee, The View gives you really good views of the San Fran, if it's a clear sky then views of the city around sunset or in the night are spectacular. Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge views are truly amazing. They have good collection of high end liquor and their cocktails can pack a punch! No reservations needed, walk in and grab any table! SF is truly beautiful in the night! Don't let the city die!

Cool bar in the 39th floor of the Marriott Marqui with great views from big windows. Service was great, quick to get orders and keep things full. Cocktails were tasty, little expensive ($25 each). There is also some food available which we didn't try. Would go back again.

Food and drinks are expensive, but the view is amazing. To catch sunset while relaxing in a chair, get there at or just after 4 pm in the November/December/January timeframe. Those seats go fast and people seem to stick around. But the city from the other side is also an amazing view. The colors start about 30 minutes before sunset due to the placement of a hill, and even earlier if there's a well placed cloud. They last maybe 10-20 minutes after sunset as the sun slowly goes below the horizon (or more accurately, the Earth continues to rotate.) Enjoy the night lights as well as they are also beautiful as is the view during daylight hours.

Packed but insanely cool vibes. Got a seat on the sofa with my partner and we were able to see out the window. People were constantly taking pictures of the view. It's a really fun place! Expensive! But worth the view.

This bar is in a great location and has kind service to compliment its outstanding view. I recommend coming early so you can grab a seat and watch the sunset. The drinks however are fine, but they are far from the best. Pretty crazy to see a cocktail with Jose Cuervo tequila be $25. Regardless, It’s definitely a cool spot to stop by for one drink and take in the sights.

The place is awesome and the views are out of this world. The only reason it did not get a five star is because I have never had to spend that much on a drink in my life. And by the way, I am not young...

Photos doesn’t do justice. Beautiful view!! food is good, great service. No reservation needed but can get really busy though.

The name says it all! A beautiful view of the city during the day and romantic vibe at night! We just stopped by for a couple glasses of wine and the cheese board. My recommendation is to eat dinner first then come here for drinks after. The portions are made for a quick bite. The cheese plate was delicious, yet lacking for the price. The service was good while we were there. I'd suggest coming in early for the best seats since they do not do reservations for under 10 people. It's open seating, so naturally the best spots are taken really quickly.

They surely have Amazing sunset views! Since they don't take reservations it can be a little bit of a wait for a table with a view. We went there on a Friday evening and the place was super busy. But we managed to get a decent table. They drinks are a little pricey. But overall we had a good time.

Not very crowded on Sunday night.. beautiful views of San Francisco downtown. Desert is yum😋, but main course is not good.

Beautiful view and iconic window that provides a panoramic outlook of Northern/Eastern SF. Slightly overpriced cocktails considering for quite simple drinks on the menu, but certainly well paid for the view. Definitely a stop worth it!

Fantastic views and great atmosphere. Find your own table and then waiting staff come to you. Highly recommend the seasonal flatbread. It’s quite pricey but you are paying for a superb view and good experience

It's not called the View lounge for nothing! Besides the cutthroat first come first serve seating, it's a lovely place for hanging with a friend or a special someone. If you get there around 5 it's usually not as packed and you will be in prime position for the sunset, which is spectacular from their west-facing city view. The easterly view is of the city and the water. The light dances on the water and it is a joy to behold. I got their old fashioned and it was very well made. We got 2 orders of their crisps. One was delightfully crunchy and fresh, the other was a bit soggy and sad. Their other small bites were good, nothing really super memorable. I'd be willing to try the crisps again though. It was a delightful way to spend the evening. You should definitely go.

Great view! They open right at 4 (and the elevators will not work until after 4, even for hotel guests). Specialty cocktails are $23 each. Spendy but you are paying for the view. Worth checking out but it would not be my choice for routine visits.

I’m staying at the hotel and I came here at 520pm on a Thursday evening. Is it necessary to blast bad 90s and 2000s club music so loud it’s hard to hear people in front of you at 530pm? It seems like they were making the atmosphere intentionally frustrating for people coming here with their families or for a pleasant experience. Not relaxing at all. Felt more like a bad club in Amsterdam than a classy lounge in San Francisco.
