What an incredibly beautiful place! I performed here as the pianist for a wedding reception - the variety, building, & layout are all simply stunning. It is also nestled in Golden Gate Park, which if you are visiting SF, is a must see- there are do many things to do in the park alone. SPEND THE DAY HERE IN THE PARK! You won’t regret it- there’s the music concourse, Japanese tea garden, the botanical garden, the Academy of Sciences, Buffalo, and of course the conservatory!!

This place is a plant lover’s paradise. The plants were maintained very well with separate temperature/humidity controlled areas. The highlight was the aquatic plants section with giant water lily. It was soothing and relaxing to spend time inside. You could also get some pictures here, they have setup benches with beautiful backgrounds. If you are an SF resident, you have free access, and the lawn just outside the conservatory makes an amazing picnic spot!

Loved this place. It is quietly beautiful, not crowded, full of amazing and wonderful plants. The building is interesting as a historical piece. A nice relaxed backyard of golden gate park. The grounds just outside are lovely and a great place for a picnic.

Beautiful place with many flowers from South America and the tropics. The rooms have ambient noises and fog. All three rooms have different climates. The Giant Arum flower was to bloom on 6/29/2023 but we didn’t get there in time. It’s really nice and they have explanatory tablets for different plants and stuff. You can also buy plants for the entrance.

Free for SF residents (just show a lease, etc). Very cool inside and worth a visit - should be on your SF bucket list. If the timing is right, the corpse flower is neat, but year round the lily pads are a fun thing to see. The heat and humidity makes it feel like you’re in a completely different place and it still blows my mind it exists in the center of the city. Very unique place which we’re lucky to have for free in the city. Also a great lawn to have a picnic!

Such an amazing place! Multiple rooms with different atmospheres and temperatures- I was wearing a wool coat which I do NOT recommend for inside. I was very tempted to buy one of each plant available in the gift shop to take home. Couldn’t stop taking pictures and videos. A place I want to go back to every time I’m in the city and could easily afford to as it’s reasonably priced per person.

There are lots of carnivorous plants! And it’s a good place for taking pictures. But it does get busy a bit during the day.

Beautiful video projection mapping on the outside of the conservatory after 5pm. They seem change the music and visuals each year. . definitely a must see if you're in Golden gate park

This place is so cool! it is not too big either which I think is great. You can really take time to see the various rooms without feeling exhausted. We went on a lovely sunny day so keep in mind the temp and humidity is such to keep very tropical plants thriving in here (so no jackets are needed!). Once you’re done I highly recommend sitting on the lawn with a blanket and having a picnic if the weather allows. The perfect afternoon in my opinion. Great place to take visitors.

Stunning building and the indoors is lovely. The outdoor grounds are well manicured with many lovely outdoor flowering species. The ticket prices are very reasonable and you can pay a little extra to be able to enter the Japanese tea gardens and botanical gardens in Golden gate Park as well. The building is very old and has been well maintained over the decades. Different little annexes inside of different species of plants and micro climates. It is humid, so be prepared. It is a greenhouse after all.

A visit with my daughter to the botanical gardens. Lovely rooms of plants, water features, watching observers who are drawing plants, flowers, orchids. Rooms separated by doorways. Each room different temperatures to mimic areas plants live in. Peaceful, bliss, satisfying, beautiful botany. I very much enjoyed my walk in this space.

Gorgeous conservatory in Golden Gate Park with a wide variety of unique and beautiful plants and several climates. Stepping inside the conservatory transports you into the middle of a tropical rainforest. I found the experience very calm and relaxing. Definitely recommended, and it’s free for SF residents.

This is a small in house covered garden having 5 chambers. It has some rare plants and flowers. But I expected there would be lot many varieties of flowers as name suggests, but couldn’t find. If you are plant lover then you will like it. It has ponds with fish as well. It was a bright sunny day, so we spent some time outside garden too and had a little picnic. It was weekend but not very busy inside.

Interesting visit with lots of exotic, unique, colourful flowers and plants. Some of the giant plants are amazing with a wealth of different unique leaves. Warm, humid with real life sounds as you walk through the conservatory. Don’t miss the side walkthroughs too! We spent about 2 hours looking around. Best value tickets if visiting the Botanical & Japanese Gardens as well is the annual membership; otherwise adult ticket is $13. The gardens outside are beautiful too and we enjoyed a picnic lunch watching the autumn plants being planted.

Excellent choice when visiting San Francisco. The entrance fee is $13, but seniors are only $7. There are various sections in the Conservatory with temperature controlled environments simulating the natural habitat of the flora where they come from. There's even wildlife sound effects! After your tour, you can relax and enjoy the scenery outdoors and have a picnic lunch in the open or under the shade of huge trees.

Worth a visit. Interesting experience, there are different sections with different plants and each section/room of the building has curresponding temperature, humidity, light good for the plants placed there. One section can be chill and pleasant for humans, another is really hot and humid. Mist visit and feel that!

It is an excellent place for people who enjoy seeing and smelling plants and flowers. It is definitely another level. You can see everything from cocoa plants to aquatic plants. It is a greenhouse so you can feel the warmth in it. Admission is free for San Francisco Residents and the full ticket price is well worth it. Don't forget to take a souvenir

Super cool place to visit, lots of different kinds of plants is little bit humid but it feels good. The whole place feels like you are in the Amazon or in the jungle. They have bird and other animal sounds throughout. At times they turn on the misters they have to list the plants. The lighting is just amazing. Is a great place to take pictures.

Super cool vibes and a must see if you're into tropical house plants. We got to sniff a stinky flower, similar to the Titan Arum. The interior reminded me of the herbology greenhouse from Harry Potter. Very cool that the plants were categorized into different sections.

Lovely flowers, water lilies, water pads, cocoa plants, carnivorous plants, curious koi fish that follow you, a semi-hidden cool foggy small creek, and more at the Conservatory of Flowers. It's free on the first Tuesday of every month, so be sure to visit then. The staff are pretty knowledgeable about the flowers and plants here and are happy to chat about them, so don't be shy. Don't forget to donate if you can for the visit!

Great place to stop by and take in all the different plants. The entire premise can be walked through in less than an hour so I'd encourage you to take your time and read and stop at every next plant that catches your eye. Do note that the restrooms are outside of the building and I'm not sure if there are any return stamps for re-entry. Also, there may be a wait in line as the occupancy limits set by the employees can reach their peak so they'll only let as many people that come out throughout the day. There are some plants in bloom even in winter so I'm sure there is a rotating opportunity to visit at different times of the year.

A tad pricey to get in- make sure you get the 3 day pass which includes the Japanese tea garden and the SF botanical garden. Absolutely loved all of the flowers. So beautiful and smells amazing. A really great place to visit!

This is place for how love plant and it is so peaceful at indoor. It took me 45 mins to take a look all the species of plants but people can stay more . Well they have so many seating space to enjoy the vibe and relax. Here in indoor we experienced beautiful tropical plants and see some carnivorous plant and a lot of Amazon plants and in outdoor they have gardens to spend entire day with family and friends which is so cool!

What a lovely place to visit on a beautiful day in Golden Gate Park. There is a small fee to pay to enter, but it is well worth it to keep this gem maintained and available to the public.

Nice place for a quick stop. Takes about 30 - 40 minutes to see everything. Cool tropical plants but nothing exceptional. It may change season to season. The lotus pond is my favorite. Entrance is around $10 pp

PROS: Impressive selection of plants, helpful signage, friendly staff. CONS: Feels a bit claustrophobic given the narrow passageways and significant crowds. Not as many flowers as other flower gardens I've visited.

Excellent display of a bunch on different plants you'd have to travel the world see. The flowers on some of the plants were gorgeous!! A bit hot and humid. But over all I loved it.

Excellent array of diverse flora. A lot of these plants you'd have to travel the globe to see, but they're right here in SF. I visited on a cool overcast day, but I immediately had to take off my sweat shirt and jacket. It's hot and humid in order to maintain the plants.

Everything about this Conservatory/Botanical Garden is fascinating and there is so much to learn. The whole area is immaculately maintained and some of the flowers are not only colourful but they exude such lovely fragrance. Will definitely revisit upon my return to San Francisco

Really neat place! Lots to look at and notice. I really like how they labeled which plants were in bloom!
