If you read a list of the best pizza in SF and Del Popolo isn't near the top (or even on it at all) then something is wrong. They serve unbeatable, blistered, thin Neapolitan style pizzas of the highest order - but don't fill up on that. The pizza styles/toppings don't change often so you can get the other flavors next time - instead, order as many of their appetizers ("small" plates") as you can, as these are creative and consistently sensational, changing frequently to match the best of what's available. Their opinionated wine program is worth exploring, (or drop in to Club Moderne on the corner before or after dinner). You can usually get a same day reservation at Del Popolo if you don't leave it too late, but don't count on being able to walk in. Good for dates or a group of friends (even a group of four could get one of every appetizer and a couple of pizzas).

Went here for dinner and it was everything I needed. The pizza was tasty, the Cesar salad was perfect to share and the olive oil cake was interesting! Tried some orange wine with dinner, it was nice to round out dinner! I would go back if I lived here!

Full five stars for the restaurant. The food was amazing, our server (James) was fantastic, and the patio out the back was gorgeous. If you have the option to dine on the backside of the restaurant don’t pass it up.

Hands down some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Classic Neapolitan pizza with a soft chewy dough and crust. Tried the Asparagus pizza and loved the slight hint of pesto and lemon. Topped off with the basque cheesecake which was truly sublime.

The lightest Neapolitan dough I’ve ever had. Flavor explosion from the tomato sauce until the extra olive oil drizzle at the end. Just incredible.

We had a dinner with my girlfriends here and I would say that while the atmosphere of this place is nice I was not impressed by food and drinks. We ordered mushroom pizza and it was pretty good but the other one with just corn and bel peppers lacked taste. We actually ordered it by the recommendation of our waiter as a seasonal item and we kinda disappointed. Drinks were specific too. All the cocktails based on wine so I ended up with just picking cider.

And i thought innovations with pizza are over. Surprise !! Del Popolo is no regular pizza- mouth watering flavours with perfect textures to the bite. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest on the menu. I think my favourite pizza place in SF. Great interiors, warm and friendly service, Nice date spot too

Cute place, good food, good service. My husband and I went for dinner before a concert and had a great experience. They have a simple menu but everything we had was delicious. I would highly recommend the Margherita and mushroom pizzas. We reserved a seat online and sat inside but there is a cute outdoor patio in the back. They were great about checking vaccine cards. Atmosphere is relaxed but nice, pricing midrange and reasonable. We will go back again

This review is for a private event at Del Popolo, although I’ve also enjoyed dining here during normal, public business hours. My husband and I bought out the restaurant and back garden for our wedding reception and the experience was absolutely divine. Between the staff, food, beverage, and overall space and vibe, everyone who attended has mentioned how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed Del Popolo. Also, prior to the event, staff was extremely responsive and patient with me (I was planning the event myself , and we were supposed to have the event in July 2020 but had to postpone due to Covid). The entire experience was very smooth and accommodating. 1000% recommend to anyone who will listen.

Some of the best most unique pizza I've ever had. This place was recommended to me by a few people on a visit to SF. The combination of simple high quality ingredients really shine in these pies. The dough itself was exceptional as well. Overall a fantastic pizza and must try.

Food, Service, and general ambiance were top class. I chose Del Popolo because of the multitude of positive reviews, it was busy, with the only empty tables being the ones being turned over for the next lucky customers. We were seated on the terrace, a little oasis in a very busy city. Pizza and pudding was where we stuck our flag, and the pizza was as expected, excellent. The cheesecake was just as good. Whatever they're doing at Del Popolo they're doing it right.

The best Neapolitan pizza I have had in SF. Definitely much better than Tony's (it's hype, I think). Perfectly charred pizza and delicious combinations. My go to place for pizza in SF.

Excellent pizza. Needed reservations and the courses are a little slow. Very good Caesar salad with salty not too oily anchovies. The salami pizza wasn’t spicy but very tasty and the vegetable medley on the sausage pizza was excellent. No hard liquor here but an interesting drink menu with low alcohol and nonalcoholic options. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in San Francisco

Love the vibe; we really enjoyed the backyard seating. Pizza is the best in town, in our opinion! The flavor just works. And the texture of traditionally baked dough is just fabulous! Ice cream also really nice.

A lively pizzeria joint delivering quality accompanying food and a good atmosphere. The pizza dough itself was really good, the toppings not as much so in my opinion, but the flexibility offered is a plus in some books. More memorable will be the fried squash blossoms and little gem caesar. So simple but I could have easily finished off and still enjoyed both plates on my own.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. The spot is very nice and the back patio has a really cool feel, like an oasis in the middle of the city. Service was really good and very dog friendly. The food is the real star though! We had the olive oil focaccia, the shishito peppers and just the marinara pizza but it all was very good. The focaccia is a little crunchy but has very nice flavor and the pizza crust was airy yet chewy in the right way. We also got the Tiramisu gelato which was good. All in all, worth the visit!

Good pizza in a cozy atmosphere. Quality ingredients makes a good pizza and that’s what you’ll get at this Nob Hill location. They make some great small plates too. The olive oil focaccia and the shishito peppers were a good start. They have some very good wine selections with really knowledgeable staff to help with deciding. It’s a definite go to place to catch up with some old friends or to bring a date.

I came here on a Tuesday night, and was seated on the back patio which was super cute! It got pretty busy, so I would recommend coming earlier. For food, we started with the charred broccolini which was a 10/10, good char and the romesco sauce was super flavourful. The two pizzas we got was the salami and the pineapple - both again 10/10, the pineapple was super sweet and cooked wonderfully (even good for someone who doesn't normally like pineapple on pizza !) The pizzas here are amazing, wonderful crust and good proportion of toppings. For dessert, we got the pistachio ice cream and cheesecake, which were both an 8/10. Service was great and I would absolutely return to Del Popolo to try other pizzas.

Great little spot at Union Square! Service was great, we had no problems. The atmosphere was also great, we had a spot in the corner so we had a view of the whole restaurant, and it wasn’t too loud. Pizza came out very well, the wood-fire oven really made it great. I personally chose the Margherita pizza, and enjoyed that. Overall, nice little spot to eat!
