I will never come back to this hospital. It blows my mind that a state of the art hospital such as this (or at least that's the reputation) would ve so far behind d the times. From their Covid policies, phone systems, and staffing. Also, I have had the reat of my life ruined due to surgeries I received. I have to return to school as I can't go back to my career due to surgery mistakes!! I'm a 50 year old woman, and my 74 year old mother came to take care of me post surgery. They made her leave the hospital with no place to wait. Come on UCSF get it together. Don't think reviews matter anymore but if one person can be helped by this one, I guess I did my due diligence. Unlike UCSF hospital.

Recently, I was scheduled to meet with a doctor other than my primary care physician (PCP) to discuss very disturbing lab results, although I messaged my PCP earlier. Because of the pandemic and "new residents" in training, I cannot even schedule a video or phone appointment with my PCP for this month. Furthermore, there are no guarantees that they can schedule an in-person visit with my PCP for earliest day next month either. My ongoing, unresolved health issues gives me a very uneasy feeling about what is yet to come. Should I wait longer and suffer in misery? Update: Recently, although I scheduled an advanced booking/reservation with a specialist ASAP, it was cancelled by the "doctor" or the receptionist. Musical chairs or a circus juggling act? However, I received a message que thru MyChart for a critical visit my PCP next week, I'll update later.

Good luck trying to make an appointment with UCSF... you'll have the pleasure to navigate a phone operating system for an hour and half, to end up on a voicemail asking you to leave your name, date of birth and insurance number... and it will take them on average 2 months to return you call after which they'll book you with a 'nurse practitioner'... that will bill you some procedures that are not covered your insurance or your insurance judges un-necessary. and 2 months you'll receive a humongous medical bill.

It's amazing how far they go to intentionally make the bad situation of being hospitalized worse. UCSF uses the Epic MyHealth system. While in the hospital, You CAN receive and view test Results. You CANNOT see pending tests. You CANNOT see your current (in-hospital) medications. You CANNOT communicate with your nurse or doctor (attending physician). They threw me off all my meds that I was receiving in a pill pack, paid for by my insurance, including essential meds; I had to FIGHT to get put back on each of them, one by one, and FIGHT to not get a lower dose. I've been here a WEEK and have a few I want but haven't yet found the energy to FIGHT for. I'm FIGHTING for my LIFE. This particular battleground should not exist; it should be like a conveyor belt. IT'S PROBABLY ALREADY SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED MY HEALTH. SEEMS TO BE DOING ONGOING INJURY, PROBABLY TO MULTIPLE PATIENTS A DAY.

Dr. Roman, my endocrine surgeon at UCSF is so caring and so patient with people she made my surgery last month 1/15/20 and I left day after my surgery my son and husband were there for me. It took me a few hours to get off anesthesia. if you have thyroid cancer or other problems, go to UCSF I recommend it to you best staff at the hospital!! oh and one more thing. I think I heard someone say Dr. Roman is a pediatric endocrine surgeon too, so if your children or kids have an endocrine problem, I also recommend UCSF to you

Excellent hospital and excellent location. I don’t actually visit the hospital but I visit my doctor who is part of UCSF and his office is across the street. Excellent valet parking available at a discount price for a flat rate per day with validation and handicap parking placard.

Very bad experience. Patient needed to have special transport to get home. No one cared enough to plan the transport ahead of time. When we said we would pick him up they said they had no way of getting him downstairs.

One of the best staffed cancer treatment hospitals in the country! I have personally had conversations with people/patients that drove all the way from As far as Bakersfield to get treatment here.

An elderly couple (85 years old) with severe cough and respiratory distress came 30 min late for appointment. They were turned away regardless of the fact that they live on the other side of town. What as service!

I took my son to the dermatologist there, we saw the doctor and the entire visit took maybe 20 minutes, they were in our network. Firstly the dermatologist was awesome, the resident was great too, they both get 5 stars. The bill was egregious, almost $1K for a 20 minute visit. Maybe it’s the state of our healthcare system on a federal level, I don’t know the answers, what I do know is that pricing like that is unacceptable, it was more than sticker shock, I was disgusted, and the only answer you ever get is a shrug and a “that’s what we charge”. I cannot ever go there again sadly, I loved the doctor. More than anything this might just be a personal wake up call for me and the United States healthcare system. We are deeply in trouble if this is and has been the norm.

My experience at UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion was exceptional. The valet service made parking hassle-free, and the staff was truly amazing – friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The quality of care I received was top-notch, and I felt well taken care of throughout my visit. I highly recommend this medical center for its excellent service and dedicated staff. 👏🏥🌟

Fantastic Hospital. Everyone is so very nice & happy. We have never been treated so well at any other Hospital. The Doctors & their teams are the best. Thank you Dr. Posselt. You did such a great job & it went quick. Thank you a million times over.

Kurt The audiologist is fantastic! He was able to repair an old cochlear price until new ones are available. The whole staff and department do excellent work. From hearing test to surgery and aftercare.

If I was you, I would never go to this hospital. They do not help people at all. I cannot talk to my doctor for a week they do not help not nobody. I think this is a big scam. They need to shut this hospital down. Bad hospital education I’m definitely going to change my doctor they just write you off here and do not help you.

I've never received such poor response on the phone trying to schedule a test. It was clear the person on the line did not care and answered with disdain. Shocking that this is supposed to be a place for care.

Orthopedic surgeon Eric Hansen is the best. My wife had two hip replacements one year apart. Small anterior incision and texts to me as the surgery progressed. Then when it was over the surgeon called me. This time the wasn’t as good with staff like the coordination with the anesthesiologist and the physical therapist was too demanding on the walking a few hours after surgery. This has resulted in extremely sore leg muscles and even oxycodone doesn’t work. Hopefully it will subside soon. The surgeon doesn’t know this yet but it will be brought up on the first checkup. I doubt he will tolerate it. Many thanks to Eric for his professionalism and highly skilled work.
