Beautiful lake and a short trail surrounding Stow lake. Rent boats, hike and enjoy the waterfall. There is something for everyone.

Great spot in Golden Gate Park for a relaxing paddle boat (or row boat) ride for an hour around the circle from the boathouse. It cost $30 per an hour for a paddle boat and $25 for a row boat. There are a several crews working to help you get on and off a boat and life vests are provided. No reservations as nobody will answer the phone. An hour ride was just perfect length to circle the lake. The island in the middle is accessible from 2 bridges. Boaters are not allowed to get off the boat to explore the island. The beautiful warm sunny Saturday at the lake was a perfect weather to enjoy. Even though most of the boats seemed to be in use around the lake, but didn’t feel crowded. Lots of baby geese and turtles are found while paddling.

Its a very pretty place to walk around and boating as well. The Stow bridge is very picturesque and there are cherry blossoms which enhances the beauty of the lake. One can cover a lot of places around if you are in for a walk. Will visit again! Definitely recommend.

Nice lake to walk around and enjoy the greenery. The stow bridge was like something out of a fairy tale. Boating is allowed and you can check at the boathouse for rentals.

Loved this lake! I was not expecting this to be this much fun on a rainy day. Lots of great photo opportunities, lots of wildlife, beautiful sunsets. While following the winding path around the lake, each turn provided a new landscape, a new adventure with new light. The waterfall is on the lake!!! I really enjoyed all the bridges and changes in incline and texture on the paths. Even on a rainy day, it wasn't too muddy or slippery. I noticed there is wheelchair access and plenty of benches and resting areas for those that need them. There were a few way too cute couples strolling through... it's quite the romantic setting. Even though you are near roads for part of the walk, you don't hear the traffic... you almost forget you are in SF! Bonus- the birdwatchers and tour guides were out and more than happy to share all the secrets of identifying elusive wildlife... Including Hawks. I'll be back here soon.

Lovely tranquil area in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Boat rentals are available or there are many trails around the lake.

Absolutely gorgeous it could be steaming Outside but yet the park always seems to maintain its natural temperature. Great bathrooms, great place to pull over for a second. They close down a lot of the roads that I used to go down but it’s still a very nice drive looking at wildlife and it’s not crowded anymore!

Outstanding views, people, wildlife, and place to walk around. So many paths to take on Strawberry Hill. One of my favorite places to photograph birds in San Francisco.

Had a fun afternoon with the kids. Walking around the lake/little island, checking out the waterfall and Japanese tea garden takes about an hour. Finished it up with a 1 hour pedal boat (which I feel is a little pricey, but a lot of fun)
