There are restrooms. Nice wide walking and biking road, and plenty of parking. I just wish it had a better way down to the water. Kind of a steep sand hill to get down. Could be hard for the elderly or young. **If you liked this review or thought it was helpful, give it a thumbs up. ๐Ÿ‘thanks!

Are you looking for a freezing cold beach, with no views that is littered with dead jellyfish? Then Ocean Beach is the place for you! We still had fun cause a beach is a beach.

I came to this beach with my friends while visiting San Francisco and doing some geocaching! This was my first time seeing the beaches of the West Coast so it was very exciting! Very cold! There were tons of sand dollars all over the beach, too!

Get ready to experience beach, wind, cold, fog all at the same time! I love this beach because itโ€™s so easy to access, the train N line will leave you in front of the breach that itโ€™s locate at the end of the Golden Gate Park. It is very windy also.

Ocean Beach is a powerful place in nature. You can walk for miles here. Thereโ€™s much to explore for kids and many dogs at times. You can watch the sunset and the barges enter the bay. Thereโ€™s nearby hiking at lands end, and Golden Gate Park. When the sun goes down there are many who gather with family and friends for bonfires. I think parking closes at 10pm, strictly enforced! With beauty there is great danger! This beach is notorious for sneaker waves and itโ€™s easy to be swept out if you are not familiar with this type of swimming. The water is always very cold. Not great for swimming. People have died here. Also, donโ€™t leave anything in your car. Canโ€™t express that enough. There are restrooms but not many and it could be a long walk to get to them.

Always windy here but great beach to a take a stroll. Nice place to bring your pets for a walk. Less crowded. Witnessed the birds put a quick running show as the waves come in and go.

very nice beach, close to the Golden Gate Park, very wide and clean, very windy but hey, at least you can surf well there :) I love how large and vacant and free from turism it is, without being deserted. Close to houses and markets and bus stops. I liked it :)

Nice, big, civic beach along the western edge of San Francisco. I love that this beach never really feels crowded, even on a busy day. There's plenty of room to enjoy beach time with friends and family, or have a quiet moment to reflect. I especially love hiking along the dunes at the southern end of the beach. there are paved walkways and stairs to the beach along the parking lot, so it's nice that it's semi-accessable even to those who can't get out on the beach proper. The sunsets here are always stunning (on the nights that aren't foggy, anwway - gotta love western San Francisco!). I also love coming here with a cup of coffe in the morning, and watching the surfers ride the waves.

I thought this spot was good for a walk - and saw many people enjoying sitting on the dunes with friends. Seems very dog friendly and there were many off leash dogs running around.

Windy but soooo refreshing! Amazing two lanes dedicated pedestrians/bicycle lanes, nice beach, so dogs running freely, loved it for a nice walk on the beach!

Beautiful beach and great for beach sports and to spend time with friends and family. There is a great restaurant just in front of it and the old famous cliff house is now converted to a museum.

This beach is large and beautiful. Lots to walk to. The water is cold! It's best to visit before 3pm as the thick fog tends to roll in, you won't be able to see a thing and your hair will frizz up, lol. Lots of awesome graffiti on the retaining wall that been there since I was kid. Not many public restrooms around. The SF Zoo is close by and so is Lake Merced.

Great place to bring your dogs. Peaceful. Water has many surfers. Area where beach goers can go and play volleyball.

If you come here in the summer, donโ€™t expect to see the sun. Most days of the year, Ocean Beach is cold, windy, cloudy, and gray. However this is a great place to walk, and watch the surfers braving the cold.

This is one of the most favorite Beach in NorCal for me. Sunsets are the best when it's visible. I highly recommend checking it out, especially on the clear sky days๐Ÿ‘Œ

You guessed correctly: this is where the Pacific Ocean meets the United States of America in San Francisco. And because it is San Francisco, sometimes that means it will be sunny and warm and gorgeous, and other times it will be foggy and mysterious like when Yoda was training Luke Skywalker on Dagobah. Itโ€™s worth a visit either way.

Huge stretch of beach, nice and wide, right next to the parking lot. Walking down till the water takes at least 5 to 10 minutes. Ocean beach has fire pits that can be used by public, but fires should be out by 9:30 pm.

Wowโ€ฆthe most incredible beach view, really feels like looking out to never ending sea. In April it was still super windy and the sand was whipping around which was NOT fun, but on a sunny and warm day this has to be the best spot!

Really long beach with plenty of accessible areas to enter. People just enjoying the day there going to walks, taking their dogs, surfing and fishing. Great place to go and enjoy the day.

I love any beach, but this one is in San Francisco so itโ€™s usually pretty cool and overcast. The water here is bay water, so itโ€™s definitely not blue or clear, but the waves are great for surfing, and the sand is pretty soft.

Really nice beach on the edge of SF. You can walk for miles along the beach. I think most visitors do not even realise SF has a beach.

This beach overall its pretty nice; the water is cold, but is a good place to come to relax. I would recommend checking the weather, because even when it is sunny, the water might be very cold. The graffiti on the walls is very aesthetic and the view of the rocks and mountains far away is nice! A good place to bring friends and family to chill after a long day.

Great beach with the waves you need to boogie board or surf. Best times to go are between 11 am and 5 pm during the summer months!

Very calming beach. Lots of surfers braving the cold waters. The water pulls out rather fast so not the best water play for little kids. Good beach for long walks as the beach goes for miles.

Tis a beautiful spot, looking out onto the Pacific, went for a swim and the water was a bit Baltic, but that's what you get for swimming in February. Definitely need to be mindful of riptides. Great for a long walk.

My parents and I visited Ocean Beach on the last day of our visit to San Francisco, and it was absolutely a highlight. It was quite windy and a little chilly, so we were almost the only ones there. We walked the beach and enjoyed the ocean sounds, and we found tons of sand dollars.
