Well worth the drive from San Jose. The dogs love it here. Unfortunately it is a bit of a climb up the stairs to leave for us senior dogs. The North end of the beach has a little easier access.

Dog poo everywhere thanks to irresponsible dog owners. If there was no dog allowed would have been a really line place.

Beautiful beach! Dogs run free and play. Water is FREEZING though. Enjoy a beautiful walk along the coast!

Amazing spot to bring your dogs!! The trail is a little over a mile if you want to do the whole thing, and you have a beautiful view of the coast as you walk down the sandy bluff onto the beach. You can bring your dog off leash to meet so many other dogs and super cool owners. This is one of the more beautiful sides of San Francisco and I’m so glad I got to experience it. There is also sooo much parking and there’s a landing spot at the top of the trail for hang gliders. So much going on here- I love it!

Amazing place to bring your dog to the beach and/or just walk around and enjoy the views. Plenty of parking available. Bring a hat and scarf, it can get windy and chilly at the beach. Be prepared to get your feet or shoes wet & sandy. The path down to the beach is relatively steep, but manageable. Had so much fun with my grand-puppy there.

Awful place to try and relax at the beach or on a trail. Full of off leash dogs, fighting, digging, stealing food, etc. Signs say β€œno dogs on the beach” yet single men bring twelve collarless dogs to the beach, then meet their dog-man friends. Want to bring a child here? They will get bowled over by dogs all the time as owners have no control, nor desire to control their animals. Awful beach.

Great place for dogs! One of the best off-leash parks for dogs in San Fransisco.

Beautiful beach w/ steep cliffs (caution) the path down to the beach is steep as well. The view of the Pacific Ocean is relaxing and enjoyable. Good place to go on a walk with your dog companions or with friends.

Great beach, quite a few dogs on the weekend. It's a steep climb back up to the parking lot.

How long have I lived in the area and didn't know this was here?! Treasure! I attempted to go down the stair trail to the water. Decided not to after realizing I'd have to hike back up them. I just did several miles yesterday elsewhere. Plenty of places to have a sit & marvel.

Excellent beach to bring your dogs for a fun time especially during a nice sunny day. Plenty of parking too.

Nice fun place to be spending an afternoon in, as the wind is not too strong, nor the water too cold. There are usually lots of dogs here just enjoying themselves. There's a slight climb back to the parking lot, but it's short and not too steep.

Love bringing our dog out here, it’s a perfect spot to go off-leash. There are restrooms at the entrance as well as water fountains for humans and dogs along the trail. The wind can get really wild some days though so check ahead on weather conditions.

Awesome place to hike & picnic, your pooch will be in dog heaven. Splendid views of the sea, the steep descent/ascent to beach makes for a strenuous workout. You can avoid this if u want to by hiking along several trails. Ample free parking.

Park and dog-friendly beach. There are high cliffs along the west side where hang gliders launch and getting down and up from the beach via stairs or dunes is challenging but worth it. Lots of dog walkers come here with large groups of dogs.

Stunning beach with a lot of happy dogs walking off-leash, fun for families and dogs. The only problem is the steep sandy hill that the parking lot is on, which requires a semi-difficult climb. Otherwise, great for dog owners!

On hot summer days, during shelter-in-place, this beach is SUPER packed. Barely any room for social distancing on the main trail down. Beach has plenty of place to social distance, and there are other trails you may take to get to the un-crowded beach. Overall a great beach, but don't come here on the weekends if you want to social distance. I'd recommend the Black Sands Beach on Conzelman Road in Sausalito, or Kirby Cove Beach also on Conzelman Road, but slightly more crowded (super wide trail for social distancing). Black Sands Beach is a longer walk than Kirby Cove Beach from the nearest parking. Overall, this trail is good and the beach good but just too many people. You can also head down to the Aardvark Beach in San Mateo.
