In dire need of repairs and updating. To start with staff did not acknowledge me as I entered or exited the facility. Walls had damage in multiple places. Weights all over the place, no staff member working to replace the weights after gym going a$$holes don't put things away. A large portion of weights missing chunks of the rubber protection coating. Someone's dirty Tupperware container just sitting on the floor. Drop tile ceiling in need of repair in multiple locations. Machines missing rubber grips and paint. WiFi is spotty and wouldn't let me stream music for more then 15 seconds. To top that all of there is no swimsuit dryer so I had to pack my wet suite home. I will personally not be revisiting the location until they have brought there facility up to snuff.

This place is atrocious! Easily the worst 24 I've ever been to--and I've been to many all over the country. Much of the equipment is broken or about to break. Free weights are not even close to where they belong so good luck finding the weight you want. And it's so hot!! Even when it's only 60° outside, it's burning up inside. It's completely miserable. I'd be pretty embarrassed if I were the club manager.

The staff is nice but doesn't make up for how poorly this location operates. I've seen the same pieces of broken equipment for almost a year that I've been coming here. Half of the elliptical machines & cable machines are unusable. Not to mention a pool that is not swimmable about half of the time. Not sure why this place is always dealing with staff shortage issues as well. Probably why nothing works. I don't understand how one of the busiest 24-hour locations has half the equipment as some of the other locations. Not to mention the other locations have way nicer equipment and aren't as busy. I only come here because it's the closest one to my house, but I will be committing to a longer gym commute for a decent experience.

Love hate relationship with this gym...love the location, parking lot (elevator only starts working at 830am, fyi) friendly staff, bball court (basketballs need an upgrade), hot tub (at least half the time hot tub is not working or under repairs). Shower pressure is kind of a joke. The weights and exercise area and machines are all good though and I really appreciate this location. Wish 24 hour would do some deep investments to their city locations, as they are so heavily used. Would love for them to take advantage of all the vacant commercial spaces to create a new city gym...one where the showers and plumbing all were functional, and us city folk could get the same quality gym as some of the suburban 24 hour fitness

Friendly vibe, but only a few people occupying machines without exercise for over 10 minutes. Good place for checking your phones, i guess

Wish it would open past 9pm. It gets pretty crowded. There's still plenty of people around at 8:55pm. Longer hours would accommodate more people and make the experience better for everyone.

I’ve been coming to this gym for over 10 years now, and it has gone through many renovations during the past 10 years. It just gets worse and worse over time. I understand 24 hours went through bankruptcy during COVID. However, I think management need to reconsider on properly investing in this location. Most recently, they renovated the check in area. I see money being spent on things like that but not on fixing broken machines or replacing them with new machines? I will say, they did add a grass area, which it is nice. Cardio machines, 3/4 of the treadmill and stair masters don’t work. Cable machines, about 3/4 of them doesn’t work as well. This is one of the busiest 24 hour fitness in San Francisco, yet they can’t spend money on replacing or fixing machines. I just really wish they fix the cardio and cable machines. The only nice thing I can say about this location is that the employees are super nice.

My phone was stolen at 24 hour fitness - Ocean ave San Francisco on Sunday June 19th 22 in the pool area and the gym is refusing to show the video footage. The person responsible said it’s not her problem, not her responsibility, very rude person, not helpful at all. The day that happened they’re all like “we’ll help you, don’t worry, but we don’t have acess right now, the person will be here on Monday” then when I came back things changed, now they know who did it probably, after checking the videos and now they said they won’t help. Watch out when you go there.

Specific 24 hr fitness is not military friendly. If you're in active duty in the armed forces, they don't entertain the active services program. Go to another 24hr fitness where they're more informed, or any other gym at all.

It’s very clear this place is NOT clean. I just started going to the gym and I caught a really bad case of mono which can last up to months all because some inconsiderate person decided to gym while sick. Please thoroughly sanitize the equipment, as I haven’t seen a single person do it. Not to mention the dumbbells being left everywhere or missing. Wanted to love this gym but it gave me the worst illness of my life.

My opinion, for the price of 24hr charges, not only this one but ALOT ALOT of them needs a complete remodel. It’s very Grundy, dirty especially the bathrooms. A chunk of the cardio equipment doesn’t work, chunk the weights are missing pins. I think for how much 24hr gets in membership, they could fix it up (again a majority gave this issue not just ocean). Another issue is, I get it if you’re doing your workout and need take a break/breather but people are turning this into a hangout spot. Something has to be done about those hogging the machines to chill on their phones. Also I feel if 24hr training prices were more affordable, more people would sign up since I know a lot people who want to train/need it but can’t afford it.

Nice staff. Old equipment. It's one of the worst locations I have ever seen. I've been to gyms in the U.S. Germany, Netherlands, and Mexico. This seems to be at the bottom in terms of upkeep, maintenance, and cleanliness. All the meat heads leave their bags on the floor and create tripping hazards. Hardly anyone re-racks, no gym etiquette, and most of the equipment is old and rusty. Some even have exposed sharp edges. Is there even a manager here? Take some pride in your gym.

I am new to this gym but since the week I have been going there have been 3 showers in the womens locker room that do not turn off. Who knows how long its really been wasting a huge amount of water. I told the people at the front twice and noone seemed to care or know it was happening. It is really irresponsible business practice to waste this much water esepcially in todays environmental climate.

Pretty busy and no parking. I just used the pool which was fine in terms of facilities but again busy and chaotic. Everyone seemed nice and helpful.

First off, the staff is nice and helpful, it’s relatively clean and it’s in a convenient location. That being said, this place is in deep need. Whoever is the property manager needs to be fired. 1. The majority of cardio machines have exposed electrical components or broken displays. Some are just missing a panel here or a button there but one elliptical had all the components removed. 2. About a quarter of the weight machines are missing a pin. This isn’t horrible but extremely inconvenient. In addition a good amount of them are missing their weight numbers so it’s just guesswork when lifting. 3. The padded floor in the free weight area is torn up in places from over use. There really needs to be some serious work done on this location. I’d be embarrassed if I was the property manager.

Trend mills are old and always broken, pool is small and smells like urine, all equipment is really old stuff like 90s old, and showers are just unusable. Whole gym needs a revamp could be a really good gym.

This gym has SO many broken cardio machines. It’s nearly every other machine. It’s extremely annoying. Especially since they charge a full membership price. Also they haven’t reverted back to a 24hr gym.

What a dump. This place is dirty and disgusting. They have completely given up on repairs and maintenance. The only thing they are good at is collecting your monthly fee.

It's Almost as IF they GO OUT Of Their Way to Be DIFFICULT & to Make the Gym as User UNFRIENDLY as Possible👎🏼‼️ I've had property Stolen at other 24 Hour Fitness locations. There is NO🚫Reason to think this location is Any Better than the Others.

It's cheap and dirty . Wifi will never work . Front desk will give you same reason everyday 😃 . You can find people shaving their bodies in the sink. Its the cheapest and dirtiest way to stay healthy in this area. It is what it is. Atleast I have a gym next to where I live

Probably the filthiest gym I’ve ever been to. I walked though to see if I wanted to become a member but the place was so crowded and the air flow was subpar and to make matters worse the locker room was disgustingly filthy. I’m not joining this gym.

Checking in with the app was smooth. I was asked to show proof of vaccination to get in. The gym was CROWDED. Pretty much all of the free weights had people on the benches. The cardio machines had people on almost every single one. There are no barriers between machines. At least everyone was wearing masks. I did notice that some people wore them below their noses though. If I go back, it'll probably be during the day whe it's less busy.

They have closed so many locations that the remaining ones are very busy. The equipment is decent though a bit under maintained. The WiFi is intermittent . They recently retiled the locker room so it seems nicer. The inconvenience of this location, and all the convenient Now closed will play seriously in my decision to renew

Super Friendly, flexible and accommodating staff. Aging gym with most equipment showing a lot of wear and tear. Weights are always mixed up on the racks and scattered all over the gym for the most part. The gym amenities are great with my personal favorites: free parking, steam room, sauna. Not the cleanest gym, but for the price paid it’s a bargain in my opinion.

This gym is great! As a traveler passing through, it was a welcoming place for my marathon training. Luciondo at the front desk was lovely. They have a wide array of cardio equipment, a room full of spin bikes, and tons of strength training equipment. Thank you 24 Hour Fitness!

They just installed all new treadmills & life cycles. Currently the Club only allows 50 people per 90 minute workout. The machines are marked so there ia 12 feet separation. At the end of the 90 minutes the machines are sprayed with a disinfectant. Masks are required and I wear plastic gloves. The staff is friendly and helpful.

There were many changes in regards to the lay out of the exercise equipment. The floors could use more mopping in various areas around the gym.

My favorite part about the sister 24 Hour Fitnesses in the bay is their variety of training machines and equipment that continue to impress! With outstanding tools comes accelerated results both in terms of health, wealth, and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you all faculty especially Ocean Avenue for a fantastic first time in San Francisco’s sister location!

Good gym when it fully functional. Wiffi is weak in half gym. Reception itself is absent in the other half, all the wet areas especially the hot tube is constantly closed on Random days and time, and some times no notice, yet never ahead notice, with hours of operation. 24hr fitness, yet its only open 5am-9pm. Should be called 16hr fitness, and due to wet area being closed 80% of time of operation hours, the sports gym should be considered just a express gym.

It’s clean - the hot tub is under maintenance. I lok. The location because it’s has as basketball court - it’s a small 24 hr but coo!

Disgusting business practice. Started reactivated my account after it was cancelled and started charging me without notifying or asking me. Also, they started double billing some months and just threw on all kinds of extra charges. Shameful - these guys lost a client for life and also are going to get a lot of bad reviews spread from my end. Totally pathetic.
