battery east trail San Francisco is great trail for hiking. Cold a bit as it’s close to the Golden Gate Bridge. One of the signature trail improvement projects of the Parks Conservancy, the multi-use Battery East Trail features eye-popping views of the soaring towers of the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as an overlook/seating area to admire the span and San Francisco Bay.

A nice stop in the Presidio area, just south of the Golden Gate bridge. On a clear day, there are beautiful views north of both the bridge in San Francisco bay. There is also a visitor center, providing interesting information as to the history and construction of the bridge.

Wonderful spot for viewing the Golden Gate Bridge! Parking is $3 for a hour, $2 for 40min & $1 for 30min. They take coins or card.

I like the view of the bridge from this spot the most. And it was easy to get there by bus. Many toilets and a coffee shop

Love this place. Spring time is simply amazingly beautiful. Free parking if you get a spot. A must visit place with great trails.

If you want a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge, this is the place to come to for that. It’s a prime viewing area so it’s a busy place when people are trying to find a spot for sightseeing. Parking can be a challenge.

One of the best places for a clear view of Golden Gate Bridge. It is near the welcome center and a good place for parking if you don’t find any near welcome center. This is a paid parking spot and the ticket has to be displayed on your dash. It costs around $2-$3 for 2 hr, if I remember correctly. It even has access to go for a small hike or get down to the water front

Great place to park with short distance to the bridge view/photo area. You walk through this little tunnel and you have a better view. Less crowded than the parking lot closer to the bridge so you should come here.

This area is fantastic to walk around and take in the sights. There is an excellent view of the city from the bridge, which is easily accessible from here, and there are a number of walking trails around the area to see the bay and enjoy the sea spray. Historical landmarks of old battery sites are also quite interesting to see along the way.

Amazing place for viewing golden gate. Get their early and walk towards the view through for some amazing views.

Great view of the bridge and nice walk down and along the sea. Worth the trip. Bathrooms are EXTREMELY dirty. Parking is cheap.

Pier 1 to 9 large Cruise point. Excellent view to bridge.

It’s a good spot to see the golden gates but be careful if you drive. I have seen so many glass remnants as there are people smashing the car window. Do not leave your valuables in the car. Overall a nice parking spot if you want to walk along the park.

The battery east trail and Golden Gate Bridge is a great trail for hiking. This is close to the Golden Gate Bridge. One of the greatest signature trails and hike to bridge location.
