😠 This has got to be the worst pizza location I've been to. For context, I had a great experience at the Mountain View Doppio Zero location last week with my coworkers - we split a few different pizzas, and my favorite was the fig and prosciutto pizza with no cheese. Since I live in SF, I was thrill... People often mention pizza, good, restaurant, service, pasta, staff, location, experience, Doppio, cheese,

This has got to be the worst pizza location I've been to. For context, I had a great experience at the Mountain View Doppio Zero location last week with my coworkers - we split a few different pizzas, and my favorite was the fig and prosciutto pizza with no cheese. Since I live in SF, I was thrilled to find out there was a Hayes Valley location and went here two days later. I got the exact same pizza, fig and prosciutto with no cheese, but when I got home and opened the box, I was APPALLED. I've attached photos of the pizza I got in Mountain View and the one I got in SF. The order was exactly the same, but the pizza could not be more different. The size was about half the one I got in Mountain View and the toppings were abysmal. To add insult to injury, the dough was raw in the middle and tasted yeasty and sour. It's absolutely shameful that this restaurant thinks this amount of prosciutto on a $24 pizza is okay. I really enjoyed my experience at the Mountain View Doppio Zero, but this amount of inconsistency is not acceptable.

Yesterday a glass broke in the restaurant kitchen. And these pieces of glass were in my pizza. It's outrageous!! Yesterday we sat with a friend in this pizzeria. We ordered two pizzas. One for me I ask that and Burrata for me. I ate 2 pieces in the restaurant. I took the rest of the pizza home. In the morning I warmed up a piece for myself and my son. I got 4!!! a piece of glass from a glass that broke yesterday in the kitchen while we were preparing pizza. All visitors heard this sound. It's good that the child got a piece without glass🥺. but we don't know yet. It's outrageous! It was delicious, but dangerous.👎👎👎

I came here on a friday night when they just opened, the host was very friendly and sat us right away. They have a few tables outdoor and some more indoor (they let us choose) We ordered a coke, I think they have a soda fountain and the coke tasted very watered down. We ordered the pasta with shrimp and it was very underwhelming, it tasted like cheap store bought pasta with not enough flavor. The pizza had a good texture, doughy and they flavors where ok. I don't think they food is worth it but maybe I just didn't got the right food.

Great location for a pre-ballet dinner. We were able to get reservations - it gets very busy around show times! The Dioppio special pizza was spectacular and the wine was perfect.

I had high hopes when I visited the Italian pizza restaurant for dinner. However, my experience was mixed, with some dishes standing out while others left me underwhelmed. The burrata appetizer was a highlight of the meal, featuring caramelized nuts that added a nice touch of sweetness to the dish. It was clear that the restaurant was capable of creating unique and flavorful dishes. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the main courses. The signature Doppio pizza, while interesting in concept, was too doughy and soft for a pizza, and lacked the bold flavors I was hoping for. The beef short rib pasta was also underwhelming, tasting like a subpar beef stroganoff rather than a standout Italian pasta dish. In addition to the food, the service at the restaurant was only okay. While the staff was friendly, there were some lapses in attention and efficiency that detracted from the dining experience. Overall, while the Italian pizza restaurant had some highlights, the main courses left something to be desired. With some improvements to the food and service, the restaurant could create a more memorable dining experience.

Their lasagna was absolutely amazing. They charred the cheese and it added so much flavor. Great portions for the price. The drinks were amazing as well and service was great. Definitely worth the stop if you want something of quality.

Food is generally blah here. Not exceptional ingredients or preparation. Pizzas are unremarkable. Happy hour drinks are a good deal. Service is not unfriendly, not friendly. Plates came out of kitchen quickly. Nice spacious dining room and nice tables outside wrapping around the corner.

Rude and unprofessional staff I decided to go out with a friend for a late night dinner and we specifically chose Doppio Zero because it is open until 10 pm on Mondays. By 9:30 pm the staff was agitated and stacking all the chairs around us, turning off lights, turning off the music, and they even tried to taking my food before I was done eating. By 9:40, our waitress brought our check (without us asking) and tossed it onto the table and made it very obvious she wanted us to leave right away. If you want to close at 9:30, do that. Don’t post that you’re open until 10 just to be rude to customers and make them uncomfortable enough so you can close early. I won’t go here again. The food was also just ok! Not worth the rude service. Also - in response to the owner’s comment - I’ve been to many restaurants in San Francisco and I’ve never had a single restaurant shut off lights and stack chairs all around me a full half hour before closing. I also have never had a waitress bring me the bill a full 20 mins before closing without me asking for the bill. I had an unpleasant experience at your restaurant and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Wonderful food! Loved the pizza of course, and the house made pasta was incredible! But the place was so loud that we could barely hear each other.

Food was really good, but the service was definitely below average. We arrived for lunch and the staff seemed to completely forget about our table and didn't take our order until we eventually waived over another member of staff. Overall just felt confused and disoriented. Not especially friendly either.

I have eaten at the Mountain View location of this restaurant before. But I wanted to try the San Francisco location for so long! And I must say I was not disappointed. At all! I tried their truffle fries, ravioli and jalapeño pizza. The fries were thin, light and crisp. The ravioli was bursting with flavor and the cheese fondue sauce was the best sauce this ravioli could be paired with. The jalapeño pizza was thin, crisp and flavorful. It was wood fired- my favorite kind! I will go here again because I have heard good things about the tiramisu. So now I have to try it!

Wonderful atmosphere and super convenient eatery for symphony goers. The calamari and shrimp appetizer was incredible! The lasagna is tasty as is the mushroom pizza. Their version of Caesar salad will leave your taste bugs leaping for joy. The salmon salad was perfect and could be a light meal or heavy starter. The service was amazing. The location is perfect. I will definitely return.

Went on a Saturday night around 7 with no reservations. While no indoor tables were available, we were promptly seated outside under some heaters. We got some fries, the ragu pasta, and the Doppio Zero pizza. Everything came out shockingly fast. The pasta was solid, though it could've had a little more depth to the flavor. The pizza was great and probably my favorite thing we had. Overall, very satisfied with the food and service - would recommend!

Great place with amazing service. Food quantity is less so if you have a significant appetite then I'd recommend ordering more. Must try the mushroom ravioli it's amazing. We ended up ordering another one it was that good (and quantity being less). Not sure why but the second serving came in a smaller size plate (I'm assuming the quantity was the same and not altered)

Delicious pizza . 10/10 Definitely worth a try if you are nearby. Similar pizza in Irvine would be Angelina’s Pizza which is also very good. We got the Doppio Zero Pizza which has burrata cheese, prosciutto baby 😘👌, arugula, cheese 🧀 parmigiano.

Best Italian in SF. Food is delicious and staff really kind and attentive. Try the ravioli and any pizza on the menu. Only cons is that it’s a little loud and it can get cold inside as they keep the doors open all evening. Would be nice to keep doors shut on a cold evening.

Margarita pizza is superb. Taste of the tomato sauce takes me back to Naples. Cocktails and wine selection is very good too.

Amazing, authentic Neapolitan pizza!! The crust was so chewy and fluffy like a cloud. The pear salad was also very good. They had a nice heated outdoor seating area with quick service. Would definitely recommend!

Went in on a Tuesday for lunch and was not crowded at all. The pizzas are incredible and the staff helpful for choosing the right one. Overall excellent pizza for a reasonable price.

This place deserves more love than it gets! Walked in on a Friday night and was able to get a table by the bar, near the kitchen - which could’ve been terrible with all the movement of people, but I was already happy to have a seat. The experience ended up being great, staff was very friendly, good value for the money wine options, food being served super fast. Salad as a starter had a fantastic dressing and was very fresh. I noticed the pizzas were not my style (i like it very cheesy) so i went for the pasta and zero regrets. It was loud and busy in a good way - good energy if that’s what you’re looking for in a fun night out.

Doppio is such a great happy hour atmosphere. Well priced, and even without a reservation they will do their best to fit you in to a table. The drinks are well made and I am a fan of the mezcal, the tequila variety is a bit lacking but the mezcal makes up for it. The pizza is a bit Smokey but still light and not too heavy. The meatballs were the table’s favorite but the fries were a close second.
