I love this place sooooo much!!! The food is always delicious, friendly people, perfect location. I've stopped here almost every time work sends me down 99 for yeeears. Also, best sopes! Made fresh to order! Update: Pena's now has a new truck! The menu has also been expanded some and now includes birria. I tried the quesabirria tacos and not that I had any doubts going in, but they were the best quesabirria tacos I've had. Crunchy outside, tender beef and gooey cheese inside and an excellent consome! They checked all the boxes!

Taco trucks are everywhere. They all look the same. But unlike the fast food chain locations, where you can always expect consistent food quality and taste. Which may or may not be a good thing. Taco trucks however are always a discovery, a little adventure. And there are times when I have felt like it could also be a bit of a gamble. And if you can somehow get lucky, and find one good one close to your place of work, then you are all set. Especially in this town, if it even qualifies as a town. So I work at the local airport, and I get an hour lunch break. My options are very limited - a subway, a little diner at the Arco truck stop, which is tolerable for breakfast every now and then, and this taco place. Good Mexican food to me is, quality meat, and easy on the lard. This place has both. And it is best bang for the buck. And I have never felt like I am stuck eating here for lack of options. Very friendly staff. Cash only, but the gas station has an ATM inside.

This is a VERY GOOD food truck! I highly recommend it. Chevron station HWY 99 exit Collier Rd. in their parking lot.

Well when I paid I thought it was too expensive for a taco truck and specially per gordita which is what I had ordered, but when I received my gorditas, those were some super gorditas! At least 3 times bigger than what other places make them and they were good definitely 10 stars worth. Highly recommend it 👌 (They were so good I forgot to take a pic for you guys 😄)

Got a flat tire on the freeway was forced to pull over at the Chevron gas station and was blessed to have the taco truck there their food is off the chain amazing

This place is amazing!! The staff is nice and the food is so freaking good!!!! I live an hour away but I would drive to eat this food. Thank you so much. I can only vouch for the nachos but I’m sure it’s all good.

Food was pretty good and the staff were helpful enough. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Drink are just canned Sodas. Parking is okay and it took them about 10 minutes to come up with my order.

Great tamales and delicious burritos. The carnitas is fresh and tender. Perfect place to stop when your on 99.

We showed up close to their posted closing time and met a rush of about 8 orders before us. Everyone was trying to beat the closing clock. Peñas did not dissapoint. The burrito and carne asada fries were hot and very tasty. Came with pickled jalapeños, fresh salsa and grilled onion on request. Also, the large horchata was the perfect addition to the meal. Great service. Friendly, Bilingual staff. Cash or card. Lots of great options. Really good food. Could have used some more spice for my liking but it definitely wasn't bland. Dang it. I think I just found my new favorite Taco truck.

We got 2 chicken tacos Supreme, chicken nachos and asada California burrito. All very delicious!! Loved it!

Food is excellent. I have eaten here 100s of times and never gotten sick. Try the quesobirria , it's bomb. The ladies there are always pleasant and friendly.

Stopped for a breakfast burrito which is getting harder to find these days. Best I have ever had, I will be back for more! Update: Still my favorite! Go normally once or more times a week, love the tacos, burritos, sopes, everything is so good!

I been coming here for a while the food is good not the problem but this time the cashier was rude she trew the money at my husband and didn't oppologize he went back because she forgot to put salsa in the bad she gave him additude and gave him the salsa idk if she was having a bad day or what?

We just tried the one on Pine St. in Lodi and it was delicious. We got turned around with all the construction going on near Hwy 99 and just came upon this one. This is by far the best taco truck we have found since moving here. We've eaten at the Acampo one too but this is a little better. Great flavor on the Asada Burrito and tacos. They also don't skip on the size!
