Worst experience ever. Their missinformation made me almost put my dog down. My dog had to get emergency surgery after being attacked. They misinformed us saying he also had heart issues and we should put him down since he was 10 years old at the time(now he’s 12 and happy as ever). We paid extra to keep him there overnight before the surgery because of these non existent heart issues to make sure he was okay. The next morning we were later called by another vet saying he has no heart issues and doesn’t know why they told us he did. When needing to get the surgery the doctor said they weren’t comfortable unless doing an X-ray on his back paws because of a small limp that he didn’t have before he got there? he was fine and the X-ray proved that but that was an additional several hundred dollars. Each time we came in to pick him up from an appointment or drop him off it was an hour to two hour wait eventhough we called ahead of time each time. When they would say he’s ready for pick up I would go there and have to wait literally an hour. This happens on 3 separate occasions. I would only go here if you have absolutely no other choice. The doctors and receptionists are rude and it’s an overall terrible experience. When I got upset hearing my dog might need to be put down the doctor literally hung up on me because I started crying. While yes they did do the surgery and it went well there were soooo many problems that I recommend looking elsewhere first and please only go here if you have 0 other options. I almost put my dog down because of misinformation.

We were referred to this veterinary office to see an Oncologist for our older pet. Unfortunately, we had to make the tough decision to put her down, but I have to say that I have never dealt with a more compassionate staff. Everyone that we came into contact with were very sincere, genuine and helped us through the difficult process. To top it off we just received a beautiful card in the mail today that contained handwritten condolences from several staff members. This is a top notch vet!!

I brought my small dog in who was in breathing distress. I was in a panic like many loving pet owners who feel just helpless in these times when our loved pets cannot speak what is wrong. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the now standard wait in our parking lot mentality that this place seems to want to forever operate under the guise of "COVID" precautions. It strikes me odd that my regular veterinary seems to be able to operate without the fear and the cold practice of not allowing a very concerned pet owner from entering their facility to help keep their pet calm and comforted. I later put it together that this "excuse" is really nothing more than a convenient way for Medvet use space in their lobby for desks and other space while they wait for a new facility to be built. This was slipped put by one of their staff members, that there was just simply no room for customers! Go figure! In the meantime, this "COVID" thing sure is convenient for them. So what is my real complaint? This place did nothing but milk me out of money and pretend that they were concerned for my dog's health. The fact was, he was scared and was not allowed to be visited by his family so I made the decision to bring him home. The female doctor whom I won't name was pleasant enough but did not even make a follow up call to inquire how my dog was doing after I had just plopped down almost 4 thousand dollars. I guess once my dog left they had no more concern... Here is the point of all of this. Just be aware that when you arrive they are going to hide behind their internal COVID rules. If you can wait to see your regular doctor, you mat want o consider it if you want to have any face time at all with the medical staff. I have no idea what kind of treatment, condition of their facility, or any other measure of care because I was treated like I have the Bubonic plague. Also, remember that this place is there to make money, and lots of it. They will most likely encourage you to spend plenty of it, all while you sit in your car and never get to meet them personally! What a business...

It has taken a long time to do this review because of my grief. I had such a hard time getting over my Mickey. However i feel it is necessary to say how wonderful this hospital is. I have had to put pets down before but I have never been treated with such respect and dignity. I originally came in for a second opinion, as my vet at the time said over the phone well just come in and I will put him down. Those were her very words ! So I went to Silicon Valley for an opinion and the Dr. who saw Mickey said, we could spend about 4-7 thousand to try but , I really think you have done a good job keeping him alive for as long as you have, it may be time to say good bye. How eloquently put! My poor Frenchie was born with a small breathing tube and was on medication his whole life, he almost made it to ten years old. I knew that the Dr. was saying it was ok to let him go, and Mickey knew it was time. We made arrangements to come back to euthanize, and they took us into a special room and said take your time, when the time came , the Dr. explained everything she was going to do. I had Mickey on my lap, she gave him the first shot and he kissed her good bye. Even the Dr. was in tears at this point. After everything was over. about 3 days later I received a wonderful card that the whole office signed. I can't tell you how much that meant!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would like to give an update on my new dog. He had soft palate surgery here and the results are fantastice. My boy breathes so much better now. I am really happy that i chose Silicon Valley Vet.

We had a decline in health with our dog Scooby new years eve 2021. We went to our primary vet and they said he needed a CT scan and Rhinoscopy done as soon as possible. No one could take him in. Not even the emergency Vet. They said that no one would be able to until Febuary! FEBUARY! We continued to call around and MedVet was to the rescue! They were great and kept us up to date with his health every step of the way as he stayed with them overnight! He was pushed to the top of the list for the scan and test to be done! The diagnosis wasn't great but they got Scooby healthy enough to come home to be with his family!

I know it's hard to make enough money in silicon valley, and I'm very much against "stifling business" since I run my own business, but in this case due to a lack of marketing skills, this facility relies on predatory "traps". The first trap is the $180 exam fee, which obligates you to finish whatever operation there. Secondly they'll tell you, that even with the mild cheap treatment, the prognosis is dire, and a 5000 dollar surgery is necessary. This is how they make all there money. I'm fine with tactical schemes like this, but not in the sectors of healthcare or food stability. Honestly, listen to me. If you want to make more money than advertise your good deeds. It's called marketing, or someday God's gonna cut you down as sly as you think you are. And I'm not a fool, I found a legal discrepancy in the definition of "Emergency care" vs "Emergency vet". I'm sure can cut that emergency part off your name. Than how will you market??? Huu?? Think!!

I took my cat into MedVet Silicon Valley after she had fallen off a 15ft loft. They accepted her rather quickly, but that was about the only good thing they did. It took in total about 8 hours for them to test her for any internal damage. About 5 hours were spent waiting for her to be seen by the vet. They charged us around 1,000 dollars to do a couple tests and x-rays on her. They did not seem to know how to handle cats that well and mainly accepted dogs. The worst part of the experience was their lack of communication. I had to call them every time to get an update on my cat. When she was finally discharged the vet spent about a minute talking to me about her concerns and then that was it. We were sent home with her papers and told we’d get a call back from them about her radiology report the next day. I had to of course call them and they said they were too busy to go over the report with me and that the vet would get to it later if they could. They then called me back and told me to contact the vet who saw my cat the day prior on her day off. Of course she didn’t respond because it was her day off. It feels so disorganized talking to them, they only seem to have on vet at a time and no medical staff available to talk to owners. I understand it’s an emergency vet, but I would hope that they would communicate with me about my pet considering how much I had to pay. They seem as though they have no designated staff and everyone is just scrambling around doing every job. If you can take you animal to another emergency vet I highly recommend it. They will charge you a bunch of money and barely communicate with you about the situation of your pet. I’m frustrated with how much I have to call them and ask for simple things like an itemized receipt over and over. They are friendly and fast at accepting pets, but overall, they are disorganized and lack the professional communication that one would hope to receive from a vet.

We've used this hospital twice in the last year and a half and the doctors and staff are angels. They have been communicative and explain things well. Most recently my dog was bit by a rattlesnake and has needed a lot of follow up care and was getting aggressive with the staff and they were very patient and accommodating to us. I'm so glad I live near this location and know they are there for us when in need. Pets are unpredictable and their injuries or issues can be hard to determine let alone expensive. You take that on yourself when you bring a pet home. Be grateful these people are here to help you all hours of the day.

I brought my cat here to be euthanized. The place was absolutely packed with people yet we received wonderful service. The nurses and vet were gracious and understanding. My sister was able to hold Habibi as she died peacefully. The price here is great as well. I called 12 different places before I decided on medvet. They have more locations too! This is absolutely the place to go for emergencies.

Everyone was so kind and welcoming - great environment. I visited MedVet after having a terrible experience at Sage. The contrast of experience was immense. The MedVet team was very kind, patient, and upfront. I felt as if the specialist was very knowledgable and recommended the best treatment options for my dog. Unfortunately, those options weren't viable for me, so the vet offered an alternative method that was palatable for both myself, my pet, and the vet team. Very thankful for this experience, my pet is already doing much better after 24 hours.

I thank God we found this place. My daughters 20 year old 🐈 cat was dying 😢 😭. They allowed my daughter to be there when they put her to sleep 💤. That meant a lot to my family 👪. We had her cremated and just received her back in a beautiful ⚱ urn. Her name was Habibi so thank you so very much ❤ 💖. Habibi was an important member of my family and we thank you for the delicate way of helping her cross ✝️ over.

I would like to really acknowledge the entire staff team who helped me with my fur baby. I was scared, in shock, and very anxious regarding Marcellus's condition. However, the entire team who assisted me were amazing and caring, understanding my needs. I am currently and recently an unemployed college student who is going through a lot of life changing experiences, and this is one of them. All I really want from an emergency department is compassion, and understanding of what I am going through. Every resource matters, and that was given to me at both of my visits. I wish I had gotten each staff's name to personally give each of them feedback. However, I'm sure reading this they will know who they are. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my baby, Marcellus :') This is Marcellus, he was born on April 28th, 2017 and is currently 6 years old. He was diagnosed for Congestive Heart Failure on Tuesday September 12th, 2023 at MedVet Silicon Valley Animal Hospital. He is the love of my life, and is living up to his Latin Name origin meaning, which is "Young Warrior". He is fighting a war battle like a true soldier and I can only hope he continues to do so until his very last day. I am soaking up every moment I get to spend with him. And for that, I am forever grateful.<3 UPDATE: My beloved baby was put to rest on Friday September 22nd, 2023.... I am deeply saddened and grieving every single day since it has happened.. Although, my heart is broken, I beyond thankful I got to spend much needed valuable time with him before I had to make the hardest decision of my life.. His disease spread quickly and he unfortunately lost all feeling in both of his legs.. I could not fathom him being in any further pain & agony, given the circumstances it was going to be a challenging journey for him, so I needed to make the decision if whether or not it was worth it on his behalf to go through that.. Rest in peace and paradise my handsome fur baby boy.. I hope you are resting in heaven and playing endlessly with all the grass, flowers in the world and soaking in the sun. I will love you forever.. <3

Doctor Lindsay Malcolm is very patient and she has a good heart. We brought a street cat ( sleeps in our backyard sometimes) and she got a terrible wound on her back leg to MedVet. We are lucky that doctor Malcolm was assigned to our cat. She did her best for some emergency treatment immediately to clean the wound, and give a bandage to support the wound, also gave us some pain reliever. Because all shelters were closed at night, we decided to send the cat to the shelter the next day, and Dr. Malcolm wrote a very detailed instructions for us. We are very appreciated for Dr. Malcolm's support, she has a very good heart and we are really appreciated for everything she did to help the cat.

Absolutely the best emergency vet in the greater area. Their team of specialists are professional, compassionate and most of all treat your pet like their own. I have taken 3 animals here and every time knew they were in great care! The doctors take all steps in getting your pet in great shape. They are open 24/7 and practice safety covid protocols. Even though you wait in your vehicle they work hard keeping you up to date with the condition of your pet. Our latest visit was a scary time for us and the staff here made sure our beloved pet was taken care of and everything needed was checked. He came home and has improved greatly and in the best spirits. Highly recommended!

Called 3 emergency vets last night when our puppy was having balance problems and labored breathing. The first one said they could see her in 2-3 hours, the second said 6 hours. The med vet clinic listened to what happened that day and said we could bring her in. She was seen within 10 min of going there. Her vitals were checked, the tech came and talked with us and we were able to bring her home and they didn’t even charge us! Super nice staff, fast service and our puppy was treated with loving kindness. Thank you for easing a very stressful event!

The worst veterinary hospital-clinic we have experienced in our lives. The doctors and staff are used car sales people who utilize scare tactics to manipulate pet owner's emotions. The staff and management are not transparent on actual costs for treatments or procedures. They quote many prices even without diagnosis the pet. The management appears to purposefully and strategically keep customers from entering the clinic to check in pets and the staff feels out the owners prior to referring us to speak directly to doctor who make life or death decisions for pets. Arrived 8:30PM at MedVet Clinic. Per the signs located on front door in sidewalk area, must call to speak with staff. Once we arrived and called, staff asks "what is your stall parking number?" Next "did you fill out a patient/pet form online." Once pet form is filled out, we call back and share our parking number and young female staff walks to our car and asks for a run down on what the animal is experiencing. We run through symptoms and let her know we believe cat may have UTI or Urinary Tract Infection; however, we are not sure since doctor must diagnose the pet. The staff listens and next states, "would you allow me to authorize $1,000 to check your pet in." My wife, responds "how can we authorize $1,000 if we do not know what the services entails. We do not know what we are paying for because there is no diagnosis." She pushes us to authorize $1,000 to check the pet in to their clinic. We are uncomfortable authorizing anything since we have not received a diagnosis or treatment plan. My wife asks to speak to the doctor. The staff is annoyed that we did not authorize $1,000 and walks away annoyed and rushed with our pet in her hand. Minutes later, staff calls us and places Dr. Moerton (sp) on phone. She proceeds to aggressively and in a kind voice to push us to authorize $5,000 in services. However, she has not explained how she got to the $5,000 in services. After we push her for details, asking for diagnosis and treatment plant, she states that Urinary Tract Infections are Life threatening situation; your pet will die if we do not check him into critical care. She has not conducted any laboratory tests, blood work that would allow her to make an informed medical decision. She stated - $5,000 level "We check the bladder, check kidney values, stabilize your pet, easily pass obstruction with catheter size of spaghetti - we have NO other Choice, body needs time to heal, swelling and inflammation to be reduced... need urinalysis - hope he can pee after procedure because this high-risk procedure can have negative consequences like death." Dr. Moerton stated "I have done 1000s of these procedures, 5 cats have died." You will most likely pay for services in range of $3,000 to $5,000 because "this is catastrophic and this is the only way he 'may' survive; fees can be higher" Moerton states "I can charge $5000 and do high risk procedure with anesthesia and send him home. At $5,000 care procedures are not compromised. We can charge less: At $2500 we can offer compromised care, cut corners which may not be a good solution. We can offer a $500 charge - he will not be comfortable; he will be in pain, no testing, we take our chances. He will have higher chance of death at the $500 range where we just do the UTI Procedure and done." "I asked if we paid the $5000 and he dies, do we get a refund. Dr. Moerton said "It doesn't work that way and we cannot refund you. At the higher rates we will have more success. We will use proper anesthesia, use comfort medicine to reduce pain and inflammation, test the urine for blood clots and urine flow." We were overcharged $4,000 for services that we did not agree to. We never received informed consent or plan on what we were going to pay for, we never signed any treatment plan. Hospital charged for everything and never notified us on what was being charged. We asked for lab work and patient records. Clinic has not shared.

The excellent veterinarians and caring staff just saved another of our dogs. The first needed spinal surgery and was restored from paralysis to gleefully scampering. The second and most recent has a collapsed trachea. He’s now on meds and back home with the rest of the pack. So thankful for this practice!

We had a very good experience with the oncologist and the doctor assistant. They handled all our questions with patience and good guidance. They also tell me they have lots of options for us and our pet. They are super nice, very accommodating and I feel they really care compared to some other places we went to. I would highly recommend this place.

We took our cat for an emergency appt on May this year. This place did several tests on him and charged us over $1000. This last week we took him for his regular check up with his regular Vet and we got bad news that he has Diabetes and this showed in the tests your place did in May. Nobody called us back then to at least let us know that we should get him to his reg Vet for treatment of the diabetes as soon as possible . It’s been passed 4 months in which our cat should have the treatment needed but he didn’t because of your negligence. We definitely don’t recommend this place!

Their ortho team is truly amazing. My dog has a torn ccl ligament and the doctor broke it down step by step what was going on and gave me the run down of every possible scenario in each step. I can’t thank them enough for all that they have done already in just our first visit!

We have a French bulldog, whom was given apples with core and seed and we were worried about him having cyanide poisoning because of the was his body was reacting. The clinic is open 24 hrs which is nice. The fees for emergency and X-rays was at a reasonable price for a emergency patient. The doctors and nurses were great to us and our pet, although the front desk receptionist had bad attitude. If that isn’t a deal breaker for you guys then I definitely recommend this place if you guys need to have your pet looked at - keep in mind that it is a ER vet so if they have more critical pets that came in after you they will have you wait. We got there at 1PM and left at 6PM. They do give you the option to drop off and pick up too though which is nice. I would of given 5/5 but the wait time was long & front desk customer service wasn’t great.

I took my cat in for emergency care, because every clinic I called told me to come here. They tried to slap me with a $5000 bill and $3000 deposit. My wife and I are struggling financially at the moment and when we told them we could afford about a 1/10 of what they were asking they sent us away, without doing anything. It even states in this agreement that they can change what’s necessary at any moment without having to contact the owner. Don’t bother making a genuine complaint here though their automated system will just send a generic response. Go to veterinary emergency group instead they will take care of you.

I was very worried about my pet and in need of care for her. After contacting 3 other locations that weren't able to see Leilani by appointment that day, I was referred to MedVet. Being quite nervous, the receptionist made me feel a little at ease with her words and gentle approach. The wait was mere minutes after filling out a short form. I was escorted to a private room where the pet doctor met me. She made me feel relaxed, at ease, and have me peace of mind by telling me the pooch was going to be ok. I highly recommend this emergency medical pet facility. I hope I never need to go back but if I do, I'm gonna return. A+.

Cannot praise their staff enough. Only downside to this location is that they are emergency only and do not take regular clients it seems. Took my 2 year old pup in the middle of the night with a swelling throat (bee/insect sting verdict) and was immensely impressed by the care and service. Returned about a year later to put down our elderly family cat and they again went above and beyond with their care. All staff members seem attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Only 2 vets have stood out to me in my life for exceptional service and this is one of them!

Dr. Yeh, Kare, and the surgery team are the best! Dr. Yeh previously operated on my dog Chunky at his former hospital 3 years ago, removing the front part of his lower jaw after it had cancer, which saved his life! I have such trust in his skills that I drove 2 hours to this hospital for him. He developed a salivary mucocele (which can happen from his original surgery) which had shrunk, come back, we fixed it at the vet I work for (I’m a vet tech), then came back, tripled in size over 3 days, so it was time to call Chunky’s expert! I called and was able to get an appointment next day. Yay! I filled out the online forms which were very thorough and their pre-visit communication was great. When I arrived I was promptly greeted and Chunky received a collar with his info (I see another post about a labeling issue, I’m glad to see that in place). I was roomed by Kare immediately and she was LOVELY. Dr. Yeh was familiar with my boy and he examined him and he went over my options. I opted for the more conservative option first (the more minor procedure prior to a bigger surgery) and it was able to happen same day. For those worried about prices, they are comparable to other ER/spec hospitals in the area. They got it done very quickly and he did great. He was very awake. I came to pick him up and Kare let me know that she loved him, could tell how special he was to me and she said she spent a lot of time holding him while at her desk which made me so happy! I could tell he loved her as well. Chunky hasn’t missed a beat since. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come back. If anyone’s pet needs surgery I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Yeh and his team. He thoroughly communicates your options, is so caring about your pet, humble, talented, and will never push an unnecessary procedure. I referred countless patients to him at his old hospital from my GP clinic. I am forever thankful and indebted to him for saving my best friends life, fixing him yet again, and giving him the best quality of life possible! I always joke that I hope I don’t have to see him again, but I am grateful he is there if Chunky needs him.

We rushed over for our feral cat weve had for 5 years. He was not okay. This place is open all hours and my mother has taken her yorkies here years ago. There was NO WAIT! UNLIKE OTHER EMERGENCY ROOMS! Vet and team WERE ON IT RIGHT AWAY, made sure we knew what was going on at all times. Were very upfront about costs and what he needed to get on the right track. Unfortunately the route of costs will determine treatment in most cases like ours. We couldnt afford a hospital stay with IV and catheter. We've taken him back home after treatment and he's been on meds for a few days now. He's improved a lot and we hope his condition is repairable. We don't quite know what's causing his condition and am spending as much time with him as possible now. Thanks to the team for this bit of time if it is his last. Hope to hear good news from testing soon. -Lots of Love, Breanna and Sardan

Our cat was not doing well and so we called MedVet and were told to bring her in same day. It was a few hours until she was seen due to having more critical cases, but the whole time my husband and I felt like we were very well informed about what to expect such as when we would be contacted and what tests and treatments were going to be administered. Communication about her condition was very thorough and we were provided with enough information to make informed choices which was something we didn’t have with our family vet. One thing to keep in mind is that it will be costly but felt was worth the treatment that our cat received.

Dr. Hernandez was phenomenal. I brought my cat to her in an emergency, she walked me through everything, helped me understand what was going on with my cat, she was patient, kind, listened, shared information, answered all of my questions, and was incredibly kind. It was a sad night and her and the staff at medvet were so compassionate and kind, I don't think that I could have asked for a better team of humans to help my cat and me that night.

I couldn’t write a review sooner, I had just put my cat down and was very emotional. Through the whole process met that was extremely nice and understanding, they gave us as much time as we needed to spend with my cat to say goodbye. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of services for their animals

I would recommend MetVet for all your pets needs.

Super friendly and informative. I was given several options when we were talking about different treatments. I like choices, especially when I can save money while still getting the best care for our pet, in an emergency situation, non the less. This vet hospital is not my regular vet, but it IS now.

Took really good care of my daughter's dog Bella. Super friendly and professional staff. It was about a 4 hour drive but the care she received was worth the drive. Thank you very much. Bella's grandfather.

Rushed here for emergency care for our dear dog Kiba who had collapsed, not breathing. We got him breathing again, got him here and they took him in immediately. They kept us updated very regularly, every 15-20 mins. Even though they did not expect him to make it, they continued keeping him going per our requests, until finally after about an hour and a half we made the decision, based on their excellent sharing of information and prognosis, to let our little guy go. It was expensive, but I felt the quality of care was outstanding, as well as the empathy expressed and the process of saying goodbye in the private area behind the clinic. They helped us through such a traumatic experience.

I brought my cat in because he had a wound from a fight with a stray. They were so good with him. Cleaned him up really well. Even showed me the best way to give him the medicine. I will definitely take my pet here again, if needed.

We brought our 8 year old kitty in in an emergency basis as she couldn't urinate. Every one was very kind and compassionate and knowledgeable.

This place is a joke,,,,, $850 to check and I’ll let you know how expensive is going to be later,,, and after I refuse they said ok I’ll call animal control service to take care of your dog and guess what ,,,,,, no animal control service ,,, a police officer showed up and said ,,,,, hooooo they said you don’t want to paid for the service and they going to put your dog to sleep and you just have to take the body and bury it ,,,,and we told the police officer they want us to sign contract before we have any info and of course we refuse to sign and that’s when they get mad and instead of calling animal control service that they supposed to call they call the police ,,,,,, what a jokeeee of vet med
