The only good thing about the place was the beach it was clear and clean, but the rest was really disappointing, restrooms are not clean, with bad smell. Staffs are not attentive. The price of the food is doubled and of course they don't allow outside food. Any additional activities that you wanted to do have additional charge, kayak, snorkeling and even asking for towels.

I think they upgraded our room so kudos to that! Pros: Beautiful beach, attentive staff, good location. Cons: Room is mediocre. No TV. Too restrictive of policy, can’t eat inside the room. Food is too salty for my tasting. Expensive food. Again, it’s a beautiful place however, I’ll only rate this as three-star because I don’t think it’s worth the price. There’s not much to do at night tho.

We ended up here cause we decided to go to the beach last minute, I contacted them Thursday for a Sunday day tour booking and I was able to place a reservation on Friday. They were responsive in their messenger account and email. They also sent all the info and policies via email. Driving there, there's a few hundred meters of rough road, might hurt if you have a small car. Checking in, no queues in the front desk, bags were checked for food as well. Only water and bread can be taken in. Careful when bringing seniors, they have a long flight of stairs. Resort is also pet friendly. When we got there there are two or 3 groups doing their team building, we're not allowed to bring speakers but the team building sound system was really loud. The beach, the highlight of the trip was clean by the shore but if you swim further, there are trash in the seabed and some are floating. I saw some trash by the rock formation as well. Despite that, I saw a lot of fish while snorkeling. They don't have rentals of gears so bring your own. You can also do kayak and other water activities there. The pool (3-5ft) is ok, the view from it, very lovely. If you booked tables and chairs, they have a covered pavilion you can transfer to when it rains. Downsides, the toilet and shower rooms were filthy. It wasn't cleaned in the morning but someone was cleaning it by 3pm. Food, ridiculously expensive. We paid almost P700 for bulalo with dried out corn. I had to follow up for my coffee 3 times, I had to peak at the service area to finally get it. Just a tip, pre-order your lunch so it's prepared ahead. We ate around 12nn but pre-ordered around 10:30am. Even by doing that they still served it late. There are water dispensers around if you need to drink. Overall, the staff was friendly. We did enjoy our trip. It's something I want to try again but because of the food, I would think twice. Will I recommend it to someone? Probably not. The food's the deal breaker for me.

The room we were assigned to had a broken airconditioner. We reported it to their staff and they looked over it, changed some settings but it was still like the outside temperature. Once at checkout, they were charging us for the electric fans we requested because they did not offer to switch us to a different room. We tried to haggle and clear this out but they were firm about it. Terrible experience. Will NOT recommend. The beach is pretty, staff were always available, but food was bland, rooms were mid. Again will NOT recommend.

The comments here were true. Very Unprofessional and bad customer service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT! I have reserved rooms on a specific date which they confirmed was available for our company outing. I requested for the details on that day because they said they will send me one. I waited so i can make my payment but was given none. I followed up a day after and then they said it was not available anymore. When I requested for an adjustment since we could no longer reschedule the date but no feed back received from them. We were hassled by this but good thing we found another resort which was way better than La Luz.

The rooms are great, but the double deck beds we used were not stable. Shakes on the slightest movement and squeaks a lot. One bed is also missing some support. The dorm type does not have its own toilet. The common toilet are not maintained at all. Some shower stalls are not working, and the toilet is very dirty. Facilities need to be maintained as well. The common area for meals are not maintained.

We love staycation, the Beach is clean, but I would say this is the first ever WORST staycation. First to disappoint me is no formal booking confirmation was given after the deposit and you need to call them first to asked about the confirmation. It was too late to back-out since initial deposit has been paid. We stayed for one(1) night July3-4, 2022, and annex dorm was the only available room. The room from the website gallery is beautiful and it looks new BUT it is not on actual site. Bunk beds “umuuga” and the wood that supported the beds has crack. No bath towels ready upon arrival, so we requested for it. It was not relaxing especially in the pool area because it was not clean, there are tables left unclean, tables and chairs “kalawang at sira”(i have pictures with me). Pool rules in terms of swimming attire was not followed. Hassle to order food from the room because no means of communication. No television in the room and the fixtures inside are old. Of all places I have visited this is the WORST. Accommodation is NOT WORTH the PRICE. My son left a cellphone charger and reported to them thru FBmessenger and Cellphone number they are using for their contact number of the same day of check out(July4) and we only got a reply on July 6, and just to tell me na “icheck muna concerned department at i-update ako. They gave me the housekeeping number that when you call the number cannot be reached take note “at all times that I tried calling them”. POOR ACCOMMODATION and SERVICE.

We booked a dormitory room during our stay here. The room was spacious and that's the only thing that was good about our stay. Everything else was disappointing. The a/c in the room was leaking, the bunk beds were not stable and squeaked a lot even with the tiniest movements, two of the bedframes had missing bars which made sleeping practically impossible and really uncomfortable, the floor under the beds was dusty. I don't think they're cleaning the room well because I got a few bed bug bites the following day. The shared bathroom was downstairs, which made it really inconvenient for those of us who needed to use it in the middle of the night. It was also very dirty, regardless of the time of the day. The water supply was also not stable. Some of the shower cubicles had really weak water pressure and only one of the three sinks was working. Aside from the facilities, it was difficult to enjoy our lunch because there were a lot of flies swarming around us. When we asked one of the staff members if they could give us some candles to ward off the flies, she said yes but didn't come back. As for the food, the quality was also below expectations. The serving size was small (i.e., there were just a few small pieces of meat and their side dish was just one small slice of tomato and cucumber, which seemed to be like a decoration instead of side dish). Overall, the amount that we paid for was definitely not worth the experience that we got. Had we known that the pictures on their website were so far from reality, we would've stayed at another resort.

BED BUGS. The rooms are dilapidated. No intercom, bathroom tissue. Door knobs are rusted. Liquor bottles scattered all over the resort. Stray dogs and cats all over the place. Lots of ants. Food was edible.

Disappointing day tour experience! We avail the day tour and its the resort policy not to bring food which is ok. However there is only 1 restaurant that prioritizes guests who have checked in meaning we have no choice but to wait for hours for food. We come here to enjoy and relax for Easter and not to starve ourselves. I will not recommend day tour! The resort should not have a no food bringing policy if they cant accommodate all guests, very disappointing experience! I wont even recommend 1 star

Great place for to relax and unwind. Beautiful beach, lots of snorkeling and water activities. You can even scuba dive. Staff were fantastic, they even took time out to play beach volleyball with my child. Rooms could use a little sprucing up, but comfortable for 1-3 nights. Only resort in batangas I’ve visited with excellent Hot Hot Hot showers!

Been to several resorts in Batangas and what sets Laiya apart are the price and quality of service. To put simply, Laiya resorts are not cheap and many are overrated! La Luz Pros: -View is better than other resorts in the area -Infinity pool and cabanas are spacious and well maintained -Long beach front, calm water and nice yellowish sand -Roving security in the area -Responsive and nice staffs Cons: -Food is more expensive than Starbucks and other well-known resto in Manila but taste is so-so. Free breakfast but w/o free drinks. -Service is mediocre for what you pay, you have to ask instead of them placing things automatically as simple as tissue, towels and water. Though they are nice and responsive. -Long flight of stairs from the entrance, seniors and pwds might have a hard time - Room is ok but shower drainage is not functioning well and no intercom -Outside food has corkage fees Will I recommend? Maybe for a day trip, yes.

It was fun, but didn't enjoy much, because we have a long hour drive home, we only get to spend 5 hours on the beach, but still! It's a nice beach, but we recommend wearing slippers, not recommendable to walk on the sharp shell sand.

Wasnt supposed to stay here but since choice resorts are fully booked, I settled for this one. Not a value for money. Starting off with the rooms, they're so outdated and unclean. Do not get the annex room because its located at the day tour area and would be very noisy if there's a teambuilding not to mention the videoke during socials. Second, bringing in of food is not allowed, they charge a steep corkage fee. Food price here is expensive with so-so quality. Third, poor customer service. Overall, you get cheap amenities and sub-par service for a steep price, so not worth it. Never again, wont recommend to my friends or others.

If you want to experience the WORST, go to this resort!!! We had our Company Christmas Party at this resort and we were booked on 08-09 Dec 2023…..and this has the worst FOOD and SERVICE that we experienced. We were served with our snacks and breakfast using disposable plates and cups while they serve other guests AT THE SAME TIME on chinawares!! The only time we were served using chinawares was during the dinner party. But, it was the WORST FOOD we had. The Potato Leek soup was tasteless (it was like boiled water dumped with slurry), the arrabiata pasta was awful, the roasted chicken was raw, the sweet and sour meatballs were all extenders and the dessert which was supposedly blueberry cheesecake was just only a square inch in size per serving. My golly, it was the WORST COMPANY EVENT VENUE that our employees ever had. Another worst part to the max: when we were to check out on the 9th in the morning, we requested for the resort manager to air our complaints and according to the consierge only the asst manager was available. She asked us why and we told her everything for her reason that she had to explain why we wanted to talk to the AM. We had to wait for 15-20 minutes for the AM to show up and just as we are talking to him about our very bad experience….he suddenly lifted his phone to answer a call without excuse….SOOOO RUDE and UNETHICAL!!! Feedback on the rooms, NOT GOOD!!! Not clean. Infested by ants and mosquitos. Bidet is on the left. Shower not functioning, busted bulb on lamp shades, soap sooo tiny, bathroom tissue so limited.

Food is good Beach is pretty fine. Although a bit rocky. Rooms are where the bad part is. Actually the room itself is ok, but the beds and pillows are usable.

Catfished with our rooms. As soon as we were brought to our room around 5pm, we looked for another space. So much for being "renovated". I guess they thought they could make money off of us since we got the last room. It would've been good if they gave us a renovated room or one that looked like the photo. But no, seemed like they gave us a dorm or halfway-house or one from the 80s. They were putting on sheets as we arrived whoch was 3 or more hours after the last check out. We had already confirmed our arrival that day. We had to ask for a bed table and seating at the balcony. The single dim light in the middle of the room couldn't hide the several reddish stains on the white sheets. There were lime stains and water stains on the walls. The room door was installed backwards and didn't really lock ( could open it up by pushing/pulling hard) it also had holes in the panels. There were no finishings to the room, the cabinet wasnt even painted. The CR pipes were exposed. The hooks in the CR had rusted off. Good thing they had hot water. The few steps going up to the room were rusted through and had flimsy mats covering it up, hazard for my senior parents. The room was a building away from the dinning area and it was LOUD. Hard to sleep. DEFINITELY not what was on their original photos or their renovated areas.( See how different the curtained room looks) We didn't complain but just canceled our 2nd night. The staff was very obliging. They did try to offer us another room but only did so as we were leaving. The manager, who I talked to about the cancelation request, also ddnt bother relaying our request the next morning as the reception was only open till 6pm so had to waste time asking again. To be fair. Food is good, very big portions. Lots of lounge areas. Pool is big and cool. It's quite a loud area with a lot of activities and a little rock formation to explore. Those rooms were worth the money we paid.if I were the owner I wouldn't even rent those out.

Coming all the way here was worth it. I personally love the location because it’s tranquil and the rooms were very unique, some houses are 2 floors and provided with 4 beds. it’s very spacious and comfortable. The service was also great, they accommodated us with our needs, my family loved it. Thank you, La Luz beach resort. Will come here again, soon.

We went there for a day tour recently. Its better to message them through their FB page first for reservations. Its 800 per adult and any children below 5 yrs old is free of entrance and if you have a pet to take with you it's additional 250 php.A cabana is mandatory. A bit pricey especially if you really just wanna spend time a for little (like honestly little haha)bit of time. But the beach is really nice and the place is peaceful. All in all the place is a paradise.đź’•and the road going up their is much much better now than the first time we went there.

Pros: 1. Very nice place as expected. 2. Staff members are always available. 3. Food is a tinny bit pricy but good especially their Clubhouse sandwich! You think that it’s pricy but surprise! You won’t look for food for hours.. Cons: 1. Our room AC was really not helpful during the day thankfully there was a ceiling fan and it wasn’t that hot that night. 2. And sadly, the resort encourages smoking. I found an ash tray in one cabana and cigarette butts in the sand surrounding the cabanas. The reason we wanted to go to a nice place like La Luz, is to enjoy the fresh air! Also, Thank You to the staff that made my request happen.

Beach front and accommodation was perfect. The staff were great. The only problem is the ocean it's rocky. Relaxing place though. Pet friendly good for family groups.

A bit run down although improvements are ongoing. During our visit an elevator is being constructed from main lobby down to the resort main restaurant. Beware of the meal packages - it could get pricey the longer you stay. Our group stayed for 3D2N. The breakfast is not buffet style and all rice set meals do not include coffee or tea - coffee is provided in the rooms for free. But if ordered at the restaurant or bar will cost 60 php. Breakfast set meals are of little servings. Despite the meals - the resort is clean and serene. Ok for crowds who prefers quiet beach resorts.

We stayed for 3 days in a dormitory (12 people total). Positive point: room was large and clean with good working aircon. Employee are very kind. I liked the restaurant with good and freshly cooked meals, which can be preordered. Beach is clean of small gravel, quite and not crowded, with good availability of shaded and comfortable deck chair. Negative is definitely the shared toilet and shower, constantly dirty and in bad condition. Additionally, not recommended for elderly since toilet in on ground floor, while the rooms on the 1st floor. Be careful the dorm’s room can be easily opened even if locked. Many wandering dogs and cats at the beach. Unacceptable: no alcohol is served at the restaurant but at the bar only, which is fully OK as a rule. The problem is that after being denied a beer for lunch, on the table beside a fresh beer was being consumed. The waiter explained the owner is allowed to do so.

We haven't tried the rooms 'coz we only went there for a day tour. Rooms were pricey for our strict budget. Unfortunately, we also arrived late at night so the reception was already closed and the guard were instructed not to let us in, pretty sure it was our fault. Lots of activities to do such as Atv, Banana boat, Jetski, etc. as long as you want to spend. The swimming pool also looks good at night. Safe for the family & friends. Pet friendly as well, dogs were scattered, I saw 2, 1 near the beach & the other in the restroom. Good place if you want to walk on the beach. We went here with my friend's van. Food is good if you order the Filipino dishes.

  • 2/5 Jennifer C. 1 year ago on Google
Beach is definitely nice, clean. But service, I wasn't satisfied. We were 3 pax, and we were reserved a table, besides the restaurant's post, table was so small and is different from all the other table, in a not very good way. We asked to be transferred, but every table were reserved although nobody else yet was eating, while our food is already served. We were also advised to sit the next day on the table we were already assigned, when we have explicitly said we didn't like to eat there. I assume we are paying guests just like everyone else, but it felt we were treated differently, only because we were just pax? Next is the bed sheets, mine wasn't clean. There were crumbles I am not sure from what. The shower didn't have a tray we could place our toiletries, and didn't have hooks to place our dry clothes on or towel. Cabinet was ugghhh... They can improve their rooms so much, considering we paid 9100 for the rooms for one night.

Overall the resort for me is expensive.. 1st to much no's like no speaker, food and any beverages allowed from outside... Corkage is high.. the pool is a bit dirty and you can even see cockroach beside infinity pool... The beach is good clear waters but stones like in any place sometimes sharp stone... For me 2stars...

Resort policy: + Not allow outside food/drinks (Allow water and depend what kind of bread they think its ok) + Can’t eat in Carbana, just can drink. (they service us Pho in Carbana but not Padthai, Inasal chicken, Pork BBQ…) + You have to come to their Restaurant/Bar to order every time. Experienced as Daily Visitors: + Booking: Easy, paid 50% Downpayment vi ipay88 by Credit card, but after you paid, they not send any confirmation letter, I had to follow up via the FB page not get anything then via email 2 times. + Beach: beautiful, clear water, but not white sand as Puerto Galera, its just many small gravels. + Water Sports: many like: Banana bot, UFO, Jetski, Helmat Snorkling + Food: We ordered Vietnamese Pho 520pe, the worst Pho I ever get, alot of beef meat but soup is not have any Pho related and they even put carrot in Pho, the first time I see that. About Pad Thai: also worst, they put Cabbage and Carrot. Pork BBQ, Pawn are a but salty for me but not so bad. + Drink: San Might Light 780/bucket/8bottles. Water the little one maybe 200ml 30pe/each. Coke 1.5L 150pe/each. Ok price, only thing that I can’t eat and drink same time if I’m out of their Restaurant. Maybe they want to avoid trash in Carbana but still see some trash all around) + Service: Bad, the one guide us to our Carbana then not even introduced where is Restaurant or Bar or any other place, also not provide you the menu, you have to walk to restaurant/bar to order anytime you need something, staffs not attention at all, supper slow service, we have to follow up 3-4 times, and sometime I even go to the bar take drinks myself. Even for the bill, waiting about nearly 30mins to get the bill *2 stars because their beach is nice and they are pet friendly (only daily visit) All the rest is not really worthy, other resorts with better service and same price and food is better.

The beach is perfect, pool too. Spent 141,000 pesos on my birthday (overnight) here, ideally the place is suitable however there are too many restrictions and i should say hidden fees. I was told the corkage fee was 500 per bottle ended up paying 6k plus for 3 bottles (3l each). I also feel they need to change their receptionist, they are not helpful nor kind. Perhaps training them would help. If asked if I will come back, im sorry. I can spend this money elsewhere and experience 5star service.

Shell of it's former glory. Our first stay here 5 years ago was impressive but not today. Considering it's new price point it lacks toiletries, no swing aircon, dirty toilets, inattentive staffs (Chika to the max), dirty pools, not so clean mattresses no connection wifi. etc. Thank god the beach is satisfying otherwise this vacation is a disaster.

  • 3/5 Cher R. 1 year ago on Google
In the vernacular: nalipasan na. The beach is still spectacular. However, the rooms and service could be better. Don't get me wrong, the staff were nice. However, we weren't informed that the key cards automatically deactivate at 12nn the next day and we had to go up the 2 flights of stairs to the reception to get it reactivated. We were told it could've been done downstairs but we couldn't find anyone to approach. Secondly, we were not provided with bath towels in the room. Perhaps an oversight and when someone left bath towels outside our room the 2nd day, they werent there when we returned after dinner. Thirdly, day trippers are given priority to use the cottages. There are no umbrellas/ deck chairs or any other facilities dedicated to the ones checked-in. This was probably the biggest minus for us... that the checked-in guests are 2nd priority to the day trippers. We could only use the cottages if they're not reserved for day trippers or past 5pm (after day trippers leave), but swimming at the beach is only up to 6pm and the sun dips behind the mountains around 5pm too so it's pretty pointless.

    > They require to settle your bill in full before letting you in, they also require a certain amount which is consumable for food and drinks during your stay. we paid for the additional but we're not presented of what we consumed. > Breakfast included. You'll be asked of your preferred time for breakfast. Outside food & beverage are not allowed. > since we arrived earlier before check in, we had our lunch in their restaurant, food are great but was served cold even if it took long for us to be served. > there's no pwd access, but their men carries pwd up and down the stairs as the only access in and out of the resort. > breakfast is late even if it's scheduled, we have to follow up couple of times and have to look for the staff/server as they are nowhere in the dining area *food served during dinner was also great and was served fresh and hot to be fair. :) *beach, pool, accom and whole view, which was the main purpose of stay, are great. Average all in all.

Nature aspect was great, it was relaxing and quiet. Beach was good, white little pebble sand. Water was clean, fish can be seen. Room aircondition is not that cold. Hot / cold shower. Lights were ok. Bed was fair enough. Staff were polite. A little smile on their face will make the place better. Food was not that special. Just food.

  • 2/5 Jen B. 1 year ago on Google
Too expensive for a poor service. Staff needs MORE training in CUSTOMER SERVICE. They perform as if they work in a karenderya. Too noisy. There were two team buildings at the same time There were 2 German shepherds near the rooms barking at each other at 6AM! Food has nothing special. They will ask you what time will they serve your free breakfast, but it will be served cold. The only good thing is the fast response in emails and the beautiful beach.

  • 4/5 Gideon C. 1 year ago on Google
A bit disappointed to the food service, it took over an hour for us to finally eat. And the order of the food being served was terrible, (3 of the main dishes -> Drinks -> Rice -> last dish) which have 10minute interval for each. But the place is beautiful, even have jet ski rent for 30mins at 2.5k. the sand is not that good because the grains are too big. Having a pool next to sea is the best. I didnt mind the very warm water of the pool because the view is the best.
