East Bay Hand Medical Center provided me with the best care I have ever received. After over a decade of chronic carpal and cubital tunnel pain and many attempts to resolve it non-surgically, Dr. Stein and his team took the time to offer me a permanent solution to my pain. They did not enter upon surgery lightly and had me go for a neurological test to be sure. I ended up having surgery of both hands and elbows and am recovering well and quickly. Dr. Stein’s bedside manner is excellent and he made me feel seen and my pain acknowledged. As a black woman, I have not always had the most positive experiences in health care so to have this one be so good was almost overwhelming. All of the nurses and PAs treated me with the upmost respect and care. A special shout out to Jen, Lara and Beth, all of whom cared for me as if I were their family. Thank you to Jen especially for all of her work and giving me the tools and authorizing the tests that aided in my decision to go forward with the surgery. And finally to Dr. Stein, I am forever grateful for his expertise and kindness. I am able to use my hands again, something I will never take for granted. If you are thinking of going somewhere else, don’t. This is the place to go and you will not regret it.

While in doctor's office, I had some documents that need to be filled out by the doctor for me to return to work. I tried handing them to the doctor, but was instructed to drop off the paperwork at the front desk. I was then charged $15 to have two simple forms filled out. The next day, they contacted me stating that the forms were completed and faxed the forms to my job. They completed the forms but filled it out wrong. Instead of having me returning to work, they put down that I cannot return to work. I then returned to the office to give them new forms so they can fill them out correctly and they stated it will be ready on Friday. I waited, no call on Friday. I then called on Monday and the receptionist told me in a nasty, condescending way that the office has 10 to 15 business day to completed the forms. After that, rudely hung up the phone. This medical office doesn't care about you going back to work and filling out the forms correctly. They are just worried about their $15 and their rediculous 15 day policy. If they filled out the forms the day while I was there, I could have have caught the errors and have the forms corrected that day, instead of me having to wait. Once I get these forms back, I will never return to this office again. Thanks to the no-customer service at this office and the rude, nasty and very unpleasant people who work there.

Dr. Stein is rude and condensing and does not make time for his patients that go out of their way to see him. Came for specialist help after no luck at urgent care just to be belittled and gaslit into believing I had a very rare infectious disease just based off of him looking for two seconds at the problem area and googling to try and give me a random diagnosis so he could leave since he was in a hurry although I had a standing appointment which he was supposed to be present for. Was forced to go to the ER to get proper care and the right diagnosis which he could of found himself if he had any care or due diligence before frightening a patient.

Dr Franko was very kind and quick at helping me. I had an accident on my left hand and Dr Franko was able to help me right away. Him and his staff were always very kind. The surgery was great and my recovery was perfect. I’m very grateful to him for doing my surgery so quick and helping me in a moment I needed ( I was 2 days away from moving out of CA, without house, and everything already packed and shipped) the worst possible moment to have such accident. Thanks a lot! Great Dr and great person.

Dr. Franco is a straight up cool dude. He is a knowledgeable and skilled surgeon who knows how to connect where are you are. From jump he explained my situation with words, pictures, and illustrations. He clearly explained my options where in I was confident in my choice. From the initial consultation, through the surgery, and meticulous follow up, we met at my level and I knew he specifically cared about my recovery. He is not only an exceptional professional but an excellent human being. I recommend him highly.

The nursing team was excellent. They were extremely attentive, and helped reduce any stress. Dr. Franco did a very professional job on my Carpal Tunnel - has only been one day, but this was my first night without numbness in my hand waking me up.

I've had several surgeries but this last one with Dr. Franko was the BEST one. He's very caring and professional. He explained everything from the beginning on what to expect. The surgery was smooth & helpful. I definitely would recommend Dr. Franko and his office.

I thought I was just going in for a consultation but before I know it Dr Franco had my hand on an X-ray machine and showed me where I had a fracture in my wrist and proceeded to take care of a ganglion cyst right there in his office. I was done in about 5 minutes.

I want to talk to Dr. Franco about postponing my surgery for my trigger finger and he said absolutely we could do that and offered a different solution for now and offered a different appointment if I needed it in August he was very kind

I'm grateful for being referred to Dr. Orrin Franko for the pain that I experience in my left wrist although I had to take a trip from Berkeley to San Leandro. Dr. Franko and his team assisted me with a high level of proficiency and a very nice manner. I will have a surgery and with what I experienced with them I feel very much confident that I am in good hands.

Dr. Franko is an expert in his profession while being collaborative, communicative, innovative and thoughtful. A great experience!

Dr. Stein, Jenn, and his staff are EXCELLENT! I had the pleasure of being his patient twice in three years. One visit ended up with having surgery, but because of the friendliness of all in the office I wasn't worried or nervous at all. After all is said and done, everything turned out great! If ever needed I would return to this office first.

Dr Stein and his team are the best! The office is clean and professional. All expectations were clearly explained, and all questions were answered 100%. Surgery by Dr Stein was quick and efficient, as was recovery. He fixed my carpal and cubital tunnel! (I thought I had tendonitis all these years!)

Hello I'm Joel and I seriously fractured my arm (open fracture just above the wrist). This was very serious and Dr. Franco saw how bad it was and treated me with kindness and professionalism. He does amazing surgery and he is definitely someone who I would recommend. I am very pleased with the results of his surgery and am doing well....... (Right handed. Broken right arm).

The doctor made an appointment with me on Thursday. I and my kid drived 40 miles to the center on Thursday . However, the nurse said the doctor didn’t at work this afternoon. She can make another appointment for me on next Monday. They didn’t even call me to cancel the appointment or said sorry. It’s a waste of time!
