I've lived in SLO for 15 years now and this was my first visit. What a little gem! While they seem to need more assistance maintaining the extensive grounds, it's still a nice place to wander around. The house is remarkable in that they have 80%of the original furnishings and books. Great little spot... don't wait 15 years.

Pretty garden that is tucked away and nice to walk around. I was there for an event hosted there, so I'm not totally sure if it's a place you can just walk in to whenever, or if it's more of a location that's reserved for special events. Either way, it was a really pretty place.

What an absolutely delightful place, a hidden gem! We really enjoyed learning the history of the old adobe and the family that built it and lived there. The one-acre gardens, all meticulously maintained by volunteers, are exquisite, a charming mixture of colorful flowers and succulents with vegetable beds. This is well set up for weddings and private parties, a truly enchanting, magical place with towering redwoods.

A hidden gem of San Luis Obispo. Gardens perfect for sitting and strolling centered on a fascinating piece of the city's history.

Can’t believe it took me so long to find this local gem! Gorgeous gardens, David is an exceptionally knowledgeable grounds keeper, and the venue is wonderful for an outdoor event, complete with Mediterranean style long wooden dining tables under the tree canopy. Reasonable event prices, and easy to bring catering in for events. Chrysanthemum varietals and edible heirloom garden specialties!

We stopped in to see what this looked like. We were allowed to bring our dog on leash into the gardens. It was very nice to walk around. Then Mr. Del Monaco gave us a tour of the home with the insights into the history of the people and the place. We also enjoyed seeing the veggie / herb garden as well as the house that tells the history of the family. A great place to get some insights into California history. I can imagine what a great venue it could be for any garden setting events.

This place is so peaceful and still captures the imagination. Other than my visit today, the last time he was over 22 years ago at our wedding reception. It turned out perfect - perfect weather, perfect amount of shade, perfect layout and variety for photos.
