The room has a bad odor. I was in the second building. Carpet felt gross. Needed to wear slides or shoes it felt that bad. I asked for a non smoker room and got put in a smoking room. Beds are extremely worn out and need updating. Checked in at 11pm nothing else available. Will not be staying here again. Positive side it had a hot shower.

Worst place ever! Stayed here for a week. There was a mouse that ran in my room one night and the next day after paying for the room the manager decided he didn't like me because of something i posted online and blacklisted me. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I still haven't gotten a refund. I ended up having to call the police even though he was threatening to call them on me. Oh and there was work going on in the room right next to mine 5 out of the 7 days I was there. My husband literally couldnt sleep after working all day and when I asked if we could be moved i was told they would be done in 5 mins and they didn't have any other rooms we could move to.

I should've known by the picture of the building not to book but the price was right so I booked anyway. Upon check in I was given a room in the 2nd building in the back which I didn't feel comfortable with so I asked to change my room in the building where the Lobby was and in the corridor. The first room had an odor but I didn't mention it because I wanted to see if the 2nd room would too. Guess what? The 2nd room had an odor too! I was not about to find out if the the 3rd room smelled, so I politely went back to the Lobby and requested a refund. I was asked why I wanted to cancel and told the employee because both rooms had an odor and were not clean to my standards. The employee suggested I switch to another room but I declined his offer. He told me that would be the only option because my booking was non-refundable. I told him I understood but if a room has mold in it that overrides the non refundable policy any day. The guy gets on the phone to call the Hotel Manager because I suggested that he do so and I'm able to receive my refund. I'm happy that I got my refund and that's the only reason why I gave this hotel 2 stars. This place needs to be renovated, sanitized and cleaned better in my humble opinion.

The only place in the area that's under 100$ a night. The room I stayed in however had two burnt out lights, two broken light switches, and the towels had hair in them. The actual service was great, front desk was kind, house keeping was kind, and this is my second time staying

They could use a bottle of DEEP CLEANING, base boards, walls, etc, but this is one of my favorite places to stay on San Marcos. Beautiful customer service everytime!

The facility was unsat. The hallways to the rooms had staples hanging off of the trimming, stained carpet, doors open in the areas of the rooms for easy access to local homeless to roam. Poor cleaning when checking in room, bathroom had hair on the walls. Had to ask for housekeeping to clean and gave a tip for more effort which was worth it because they did attend more to our room! Super nice housekeeping. Front desk receptionist literally gave a key to unlock our door to a stranger then later suggested we keep the medal lock always locked (obvious) but to feel safer by her mistake. The key cards always stopped working once you left the room once or twice, had to get a new key. and the breakfast i was most looking forward to due to having to get up early and go to work and the breakfast was a huge disappointment, no options besides a DIY waffle maker which didn’t cook the waffle all the way, small cheap styrofoam plate that didn’t fit the waffle, only offering the beverage of apple juice. And how could i forget the nasty 5 pastries in a little drawer to grab. The basket of oranges tasted flat with no flavor and that’s about it for the breakfast. The utensils to eat with were flimsy and bending when trying to cut my waffle. This place is deceiving with pictures online, seemed like a clean simple place to stay for a quick buisness/personal trip. Unsafe to EVER bring my family back here. i owuld rather pay just that extra $150 for better quality but you live and learn by mistakes like this place. Definitely traumatized and my next stay i booked at the hotel i purchased i had to look it up on youtube to see if anyone posted it and extra hard in the reviews ….

Clean, Respectful, and Convenient. The staff here are always nice and help with anything you ask and very quickly too 🙌🏻, the breakfast goes until 10 which is nice for late sleepers, and the staff in the checkin and out process help you with anything you need, always very nice and welcoming. I have stayed in lot of hotels over the years and the staff and the efficiency of the cleaning is why I choose this location above all the others I’ve experienced before. Easy to get food even without a car, there’s 3 shopping centers at the next light over so can’t say you don’t have a way to get stuff for the room if need be. Thank you staff for making it nice for my family and I to have a place that we keep coming back too and feel comfortable!

If I could gives this place 0 stars I would! My daughter called me in tears that the room was disgusting! The bed was not made and trash everywhere! She went and asked for another room and went in and the restroom was disgusting and the towels were dirty! The front desk was RUDE! Don’t waste your time and money here!

The afternoon desk worker was absolutely rude, and ignorant. I avoid confrontation by all means, i had to walk away. Im very surprised that company hired someone with an attitude like hers. She should be ashamed of herself for being so rude and simple minded. However, the gentleman that worked the overnight shift was very helpful and was in good spirits.

Really terrible service from this days inn. They switch their policy around whenever they feel like it. Unprofessional manager tried to keep the amount I paid instead of issuing a refund. When I've stayed in the past though expect all kinds of critters in your bed and know that the walls separating the rooms are very very thin.

This place is where I'll return over fake 2.5 stars in San Diego. Alex is by far one of the most impressive managers I have experienced. As are many of their staff. I travel for work. A few more modifications and this will be a 2.5 Star place (internet, more breakfast options). I booked some people here and they were disrespectful of the property. And Alex still worked with me to have a fair compromise. Most hotels are terse and money grabbers.

They have some great deals, free breakfast in the mornings, mini fridge, microwave & coffee maker in the rooms made it a definite plus. The rooms are nice size, my only complaint is the beds weren't comfortable & had a major dip on one side. It is close to fast food restaurants & walking distance to a little Mexican restaurant & bakery.

I would highly suggest NOT book this hotel if you have anywhere else to stay. 1. check in - I called them ahead that I would be checked in late in the night, around 10pm. There were two men inside the lobby counter, one was the hotel manager, one was the clerk. The clerk was nice, processing the paper work, but they kept me outside by a small window, with a gap you can insert your credit to them. They refused to let me in the lobby. It's dark and windy outside, the clerk told me it was not a very safe neighthood. Suggested me not walk anywhere alone. OMG, not safe, and you kept a women and a little girl standed outside during the check in???? what kind of people do that?? 2. The room - very smelly! Not clean, had strong weird smell, I booked a room with two double beds, with my daughter. It's late, we did not have other choice. We really needed to do laundary, we were on a long road trip before arrived this place. Found out the laundary room had two washers and two dryers, very old ones, two of them were out of order, very dirty. Asked for detergent, they didn't have it. There is a home depot next street, but they asked me not to go at night time, wait until the next morning. Well, I gave up. I barely slept that night, the hall way was wide open to public, anyone could walk in and knock your door. We checked out very early the first thing in the morning. Run as far as we can... This Hotel had nothing for anyone to come back for. It's not cheap, one night cost is $202, it was like a junk yard.

The floors were so dirty our feet were black and the beds weren't what it said online we were supposed to get Queens instead we got two doubles. The air conditioning vent was full of mold. The continental breakfast was only waffles. And that's why we booked these rooms they came with a free breakfast. The room itself was filthy. And outside the front door smells like human urine.

Enjoyed our stay. Until last day. Main manager asked me to take my belongings down to the parking lot in back some it was check out so I did. No longer than four mins goes by and hes said if i dont leave the premises hes calling the cops, funny thing is as he was saying that cops were on phone. I'm trying to change my behavior but boy I wanted to break his jaw no offense. Everyone else is really cool and I enjoyed my stay I would do it again as long as the main manager is not working very inexpensive if you don't have the financial funds to go to a Holiday Inn I would suggest this place to anyone thank you

Rooms are somewhat clean and are in desperate need of renovations. I stayed a couple of times in different rooms and things have been broken in every room. The bathtubs are badly stained and look dirty because of stains. Air conditioners are extremely old. Paint is peeling off the walls. There's a smell of mold outside the door. The ice machine is broken during my last stay. For over $100 a night weekdays, things should be in better condition.

UNSAFE! Do NOT waste your money! Not even 30 minutes after I checked in someone tried breaking into my car. Not once but 3 times I had to go outside to check on my car because the alarm would go off. I left by the third time and saw the damage to the door they were trying to pry open. Called to ask for a refund because I had just reserved it 30 minutes prior. They completely ignored me. Waste of money
