I read a lot of reviews before selection and should have listened to the ones who said this hotel was “dated” and needed “remodel”. When you first walk in it smells. Like old/ dirty carpets with lots of deodorizing spray that didn’t work. I wanted to suggest they at least bake some cookies throughout the day to make it more palatable but fear it would make a bad smell worse. The room was the same. Thankfully I brought room deodorizing spray. I took my shoes off in the room and my feet stuck. It is as clean as it can be, surely thanks to the cleaning staff’s hard work BUT it is beat up, dark, and very outdated. Throughout the room there were patched holes in doors, dirty but uncleanable grout, small stains on wall and curtains. As others mentioned the AC is pretty noisy. I left the fan on constantly to try to drown out the noise when the ac compressor kicked on but didn’t really work. I legit thought bullfrogs were chirping outside the window when it fist turned on. It was just a sad room, hallways etc. Work colleagues staying on 2nd and 3rd floor said the same. The only thing walkable is a gas station across the street. Which helps because they don’t have a small pantry for small items, water or drinks. I travel a fair amount and stay at Hampton Inns and other Hilton properties usually. This is probably the most poorly maintained/ updated I’ve stayed at this year in 8-9 Hampton stays. The hotel staff were friendly and breakfast was good but typical Hampton inn food nothing extraordinary. This was nowhere near worth the price and we had a govt rate.

Didn't like how the Management objectified me as a guest. It's not a warm hospitality environment which seems to trickle down from the top. The front desk did not smile or show genuine warmth. Rates skyrocket on the weekends with many rooms being sold out and that's not speaking about holidays or holiday weekends. Really kind of walked on eggshells around Management, and some of the guests were cold and difficult. Might give the hotel higher marks in some areas, they have a nice breakfast area when it's not crowded. One attendant could be heard cussing and shouting which dampened our appetite. Hate to add this but it wouldn't be surprising if they had surveillance in the private rooms.Wish the side doors closed. Every time, we had to pull them shut when already open. The pool gate's unsecured free access where anyone can just walk in. Its those little things to do with security. Also be prepared for much door slamming, on any floor level. One night close to midnight there was this raucous hallway convention with presumably young men. Then suddenly a door slammed really loud. Really! It's too much at any hour. Lovely area that has consistent sirens and traffic but a convenient location with free parking.

Hilton just doesn’t care about fitness centers in their Hampton Inns. I travel a lot in the summer but still want to work out. This Hampton, like so many others, has a broken treadmill. But this one is even worse because it doesn’t have any weights! It also has one of the poorest breakfasts that I’ve ever seen in hotels! I get that they want to be cheap and save money but there are other Hampton Inns out there that put a whole lot more effort into their breakfast! I will not be returning to this hotel!

Stayed here for a wedding, which the location was super convenient for us. Rooms/property are due for an upgrade, but they were very clean. Breakfast was good and was always filled as needed. Amanda from the front desk was awesome. She helped me sort out my billing/rooming issues and was overall great. Would love to stay again

The hotel is tired. Our room smelled musty, there were ants in the bathroom, and the air conditioner was loud smelly. Hampton needs to do a solid remodel. The staff was courteous. Parking was fine.

The staff are all great from top to bottom. But these rooms need a serious refresh. Bed was hard, pillows were flat, mattress was a ceded yellow color, bathrooms were clearly not repaired with quality in mind. There was a cheap strong smelling plug-in air freshener that reeked right outside or room. The whole place just looks slightly dirty.

This hotel has seen better days, definitely needs a refresh. Stayed for a couple of days while moving from FL to so cal. Room was standard hampton inn, but older. Hard to believe the chain hasn't invested in this hotel, given proximity to a uc and all the development going on. Staff was nice.

I would call it home away from home. The staff always greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to assure our stay was pleasant. The breakfast was good but a little more variety would have been nice.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good with make-your own-waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes on a warmer, bagels, bread for toast, apples, bananas, and cold cereal. Various juices, coffee, and teas were available. Breakfast was available between 6-10am. The room and bathroom were clean. Four pillows were provided, but was too soft, so will be bringing my own next time. Make sure to pull the curtains closed at night since it's light outside, being next to a gas station.

Stayed here to attend a wedding nearby. This location does not have Suites so all rooms are the same. Pillows were too soft and the bed was too soft. Everytime someone moves on the bed you can feel the movement. Room was too warm even with AC going on and off. Breakfast was as expected as usual. This place had strawberry waffle option which I dont see at other Hamptons. I would most likely not choose this location in the future.

Very clean and safe property, staff was welcoming and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. The 24 hr coffee service in the lobby was a great perk as well. Beds were very comfortable, we had plenty of towels and toiletries, lots of TV stations, and breakfast was filling and well maintained. Didn't use pool and hot tub, though it looked nice. The fitness room is small but had what I needed. We definitely will stay here next time we're in town. Thank you Hampton Inn staff!

Enjoyed our stay there this week! Very clean rooms, and decent hot breakfast (a bit more variety would have been nice over the few days we were there). Pool was fun, and clean! Fitness center was clean, but small- had a few different machines. I wish it were open earlier in the morning though (didn’t open until 6am). Hotel is slightly dated and needs some updating, but the cleanliness of the accommodations and friendly staff more than made up for it! Would definitely consider staying again.

Good hotel, no specific problems or critical issues. But they could stand to improve their free internet to better UP/DOWN loading speeds. And step up to 2-3 times larger refrigerators in the rooms. But I can't complain too much since I travel for work and it's mostly free and 100% reimbursable for me. 🤑 Oh yeah! I forgot to mention: "BLACKOUT CURTAINS" This should be a "NO-BRAINER" for every hotel/motel/HOLIDAY INN on the planet! No one likes to try and go to sleep with exterior lighting shining through a large window. No matter what floor you're on it needs to be dark inside and privacy is a must! And since realistically COVID-19 isn't going away anytime soon, when will any hotel chain ever return to offering better in-hotel in-room breakfast/lunch/dinner meal options via internal onsite cafe/restaurant ever again!? COVID-19 is a permanent fixture in today's world, get over it and just be much better about hotel/room cleaning and sanitizing, food preparation and safe non-contact human interactions on a daily basis. Get your Housekeeping, facilities maintenance, restaurant staff and guest services personnel back to work and correctly trained and prepared for handling and preventing biological outbreaks! I am sure that a lot of the personnel who were laid off and fired due to the shortcomings, ill-planning and being caught off guard by the 3 year onslaught of COVID-19 need employers who can get them back to work in a more normal and stably run environment! The whole world needs to return to NORMAL DAYS operation, long before STUPID RUSSIA and CRAZY CHINA both go "NUKE-BEZERK" and just destroy everything!!! COVID-19 just isn't a good enough excuse for not having a well run establishment anymore! That DOG has stopped hunting! WASH YOUR HANDS! - WEAR YOUR MASK! - GET VACCINATED! AND GO BACK TO WORK!!! :-) Okay, now I am done ranting-raving-and venting!!!

Zylene at the check in desk is very sweet, professional and a great employee for the hotel. She even suggested a great pizza place. When I am in town for business I always stay here. The pool and jacuzzi is definitely a must to use. The breakfast is always fresh and delicious!

Bath tub tap was leaking. Bathrooms were not clean. The staff was however friendly and supported to make our stay better. The Palm Desert Hampton Inn should be the gold standard for the chain. That was the best across all (4) hiltons we visited during that week long trip.

The Good: The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. Shower had good pressure. The Bad: The TV is quite small, which is fine if you're not spending time in the room. The AC is quite loud, which may be okay if you need the noise to sleep. The Ugly: Far too much light in the room from around the door, and through the curtains especially if you are sensitive to light. Pack your blindfold.

This is our 2nd time staying here and we love the people that work there. Always friendly and happy. Room is perfect for my husband and I, + chihuahua. We get the 2 queen beds and are comfortable with all the amenities. This time I joined their rewards program as it seems we'll be there quite a bit to visit family. Thank you
