This place is incredible! I’m so blown away by the size of the Chinese garden and the details of the landscaping. This is probably the best Chinese garden I’ve visited outside of China. After showing my family in China these pictures, they all had thought I took a trip back to China! Needless to say, I also felt pangs of nostalgia as I stepped foot into this little paradise. The grounds are also very well-kept, the architecture of the buildings and courtyards is so lovely and you can easily find spots to just sit or lose yourself in thoughts. What a lovely treasure!

Review for February 21st 2022. The Huntington Chinese Garden located within the Huntington Library Art Museum property. This place is absolutely beautiful. Perfect spot for meditation or relaxation. Very nice place very well kept and super beautiful. There's lots of traditional Chinese artwork as well as architecture. Beautiful spot to come and chill and relax within the Los Angeles County. I'm not guilty, to say that I absolutely enjoy the Chinese Garden. It is absolutely gorgeous. It closely resembles the authentic Gardens of China.

Beautiful and peaceful!!! It is like traveling to another place without taking a plane. Definitely bring your walking shoes and water bottle.

At one of the entrances, there is a mini model of an expanse of land. Having not looked at a map, I didn’t believe the model was representative of the garden because it covered so much ground. I thought maybe it was someplace important in China. Wrongo. With multiple buildings, water structures, 1.5 restaurants, and SO MANY BONSAI, this garden is massive. What I thought was a town square in the mini model was indeed the Chinese garden. Then, still having not looked at a map and walking to a distinctly separate area, I thought we had entered the Japanese garden. Asked my companion if he could tell the difference between the gardens (because all gardens look the same…I’m Asian it’s probably fine) he couldn’t but it was because we were STILL in the Chinese garden The snack shop was cute and the pretzel croissant was weirdly good.

This is the most beautiful Chinese Garden I've ever seen. I've visited this garden numerous times since 2010, and it's always been improved. It's just my guess, but everything is getting better by the day; I'd like to come here once a week if possible. All of the plants, flowers, lakes, and structures were beautiful; I can't wait to be back.

This garden is simply beautiful! So relaxing and calming. The Jade Court restaurant within the garden is a great place to have food. Overall, the garden is very much worth visiting.

The place is huge and beautiful. It has free parking. During my visit, I was able to see the Japanese garden, the Chinese garden, the European gallery, the rose garden, and the Toripacsl garden. Unfortunately for me and many more during my visit most of the galleries were closed. I believe it was due to the 4th of July weekend. And many areas were under construction and many access points were closed. The botanical greenhouse was also closed due to a snail infestation. It was still pretty but it was sad that many places were closed. I'll have to go again.

The Huntington Chinese Garden, known as the "Garden of Flowing Fragrance," is a stunning 12-acre garden within The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens. It's a serene oasis that reflects traditional Chinese garden design, featuring lush landscapes, meandering paths, pavilions, and picturesque lakes. The garden showcases a wide array of Chinese plants, including rare species, and offers insights into Chinese culture and horticulture. It's a place of tranquility and beauty, where visitors can immerse themselves in the elegance of Chinese garden artistry and explore the rich cultural heritage it represents.

It's such amazing being able to see the similar experience of a Chinese garden in the US, probably even better than the original one in Suzhou, since there's not a lot of people. The only problem is this place didn't maintain the plants and flowers very well, as you can see the water is very unclear it's muddy, as well the tree they probably forget to cut or something like that. I hope to see better maintenance next time I visit. Overall, it's a good place to learn and experience about Chinese garden

This place is one of the MOST amazing places I've ever been to. The Gardens, general architecture and friendliness from the staff were the best. I highly recommend getting one of the guided tours with one of their guides on the website as it's very easy to get lost. And you may be thinking: "I don't think it's that easy..I can handle this on my own!" Well, that's what I thought too. I did end up getting lost at a lot of points. If you do end up getting lost, follow the maps they give you or before you get lost, follow places that have clear sign markings. If you want a guided tour, you'll need to reserve tickets online instead of at the ticket office. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the ticket office. Updated pricing can be found on their website. They accept Credit/Debit and NFC contactless payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay). Navigating with Google Maps will take you directly to the parking lot where parking is free. For oversized bags security does check the bag just in case at the front. I do recommend entering through the West Entrance. You get to start at where everything is conveniently located near the path, and then you make a round trip. If you do take another entrance, you may see everything but not in certain order. To be entirely honest, I did mainly just check out their gardens. They also have a Jade Court Cafe in the Chinese Garden which I did see when I was exploring the Chinese Garden. Overall, this is great experience and I highly recommend you go. P.S. Beware of sore feet! They do conveniently place benches around though.

I found myself sitting in the Chinese garden speechless at its majesty! Seriously. Words and photos don’t even come close to conveying the reverence that the area demands. Amazing bonsai trees and water features.Seriously highly recommend visiting if given the chance.

They completed the renovations around the garden, so it looks extremely nice. There's a lot to see as you walk around the pond, and there's even an upstairs section with a resting area that overlooks the whole pond. Lots of scenic photo areas and great to just sit, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty with Chinese architecture.

An Enchanting Escape at The Huntington I recently visited The Huntington in Los Angeles, and it was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in this beautiful city. The gardens, art collections, and library exhibits are well-curated treasures that make the price of admission worth every penny. The highlight of my visit was the Desert Garden. I was fortunate enough to see it in full bloom, a rare and spectacular sight. The variety of cacti and succulents, interplaying with vibrant flowers, created a stunning tapestry of colors and forms that seemed almost otherworldly. It was a serene oasis that offered a moment of tranquility and awe amidst the bustle of city life. The Huntington is not just a place, but a journey through nature and art that captivates the soul. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, education, or just a beautiful day out, this institution is a must-see. It’s places like this that enrich our lives and remind us of the beauty that surrounds us.

It's a beautiful place and a great way to spend your day. In fact, one day is not enough to look over everything in details.

It's one of my favorite places in LA. It is big and has so many beautiful gardens. The Rose Garden is stunning during the bloom season. We also love Children's Garden. Our 3 years old son loves playing there. We just got the membership and looking forward to explore more.

Absolutely stunning Chinese gardens - the pavilions, structures, bridges, walkways, trees, plants and water features are total perfection! When visiting the Huntington, make sure you devote a chunk of time to this area as it’s one of the most spectacular. If you’ve been before, it’s worth coming back as they’ve extended it recently with a whole new section to explore.
