The Tuna Melt was so good I started devouring it before I took a picture of it. So it's only half a sandwich and an '805 Brand' beer. Highly recommend this place. Trendy crowd. Family, business and sports fans welcome. Pool table and indoor / outdoor seating upstairs. Outdoor and indoor seating downstairs as well. .. One suggestion.. More seating needs to be available due to popularity. It's unfortunate to walk in to a completely full packed restaurant with no where to sit. Update: About half a year later, had a different beer, and same tuna melt.. INCREDIBLE! I enjoyed this visit with my Dad and it was great!!

A great lively restaurant and sports bar that has a nice almost rustic feel to it. Come here to watch a game, catch up with some friends and family, or just have some burgers, fries beer and wine. There's a lot of local sports memorabilia and pictures on the wall. There are 2 outdoor areas and 2 indoor areas, lots of seating yet can get busy during peak hours. No wait service here. You need to make your order at the counter and either wait to pick it up or they'll call your name. The kids might enjoy the mini arcade or the billiards table.

Historic and well known local restaurant and bar located in Menlo Park. If visiting the area it's worth checking this spot out, as it has a lot of history in Menlo Park, it's well regarded by locals, and the food/beer is great. Plenty of outdoor seating, food consists of hamburgers, fries, and other similar items. [The Food and Drink] The food here is great. It mainly consists of American food like hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, etc - but it tastes good! It's decently fast too, especially how busy this spot gets. It's nice that you can actually watch the staff cooking the food as well. They also sell alcohol as well. There is a bar that is a little away from the food area that sells mixed drinks and beer. You can also buy food in the restaurant area. [The Location] The location here is great, right off of Alameda. Parking can be pretty difficult at times so be prepared for that. Otherwise, it's a nice location in a little less traveled area of Menlo Park, mostly known to locals. Many people come here after their kid's sports games or other school events. Plenty parties are hosted here as well as events. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area and interested in the history of Menlo Park.

Had a fantastic dinner/happy hour here. Come here early as the place does fill up but our party of 6 was able to grab a spot in the outdoor patio area at 6pm without issues. The roast beef sandwich was fantastic and the flatbread pizzas were great as well. Prices are very reasonable as well.

Menlo Park institution. High quality food (better than your typical order-at-the-counter place). Good craft beer selection. Comfortable space. Friendly service.

This place is big, but don't expect any available tables, it's also busy!!! You place your order first, it's a self serve restaurant. The selection of food is large, and prices were good. There is an outdoor bar in the back and front. A great place to watch your favorite sports team play!!!

Food was pretty awesome and had a lot of flavor. I had a bacon burger and tried the brisket sliders. The atmosphere was great and there is tons of space and tvs to watch sports games. There's a pool table and a couple games for kids and an outside bar. The food can take a bit of time which is why the 4 stars. I would definitely recommend.

Arrived at 11:20am and got my food order at 12:13pm. Others after me got their orders before my table did. I personally ordered the impossible burger. I have not eaten meat in 6 years so either they gave me hamburger meat, cooked my impossible in the same meat grease or the cooks do not wash their hands. I have not ran to the bathroom to go #2 so fast in a long time. I will never eat here again. Stomach is messed up.

We arrived at 5pm PST at Stanford's iconic Dutch Goose (founded in 1966) to watch our beloved Nuggets lose to the Miami Heat. The Cali crowd was wearing Warrior's gear, but cheering for Denver. Our hero stood in line next to a very independent 5 year old (in the red shirt) ordering with a baggie full of his savings. Sundays are definitely adorable family days at "the Goose." 😁 The wine & beer choices were amazing and budget friendly. In Menlo Park, you can find Russian River Beer & Flowers Pinot at a dive bar for $22 per round (including taxes). The bacon on our burgers was crispy salty deliciousness. The extra crispy fries were NOT extra crispy. It saved us from being complete 🐷🐷🐷🙄.

I grew up in Menlo Park. The Goose was post-soccer, post-little league, back-from-college first stop, de facto reunion hub and the only joint besides, say, Alice's that has fully absorbed the Silicon Valley influx without losing its soul. It has adjusted. It has not changed.

A fun neighborhood sports bar for families and locals alike. Burgers, salads, pizza, beer and french fries are some of the favorites that won't disappoint. There's even a pool table, video games and outdoor dining. This joint is popular so parking isn't as easy as I would prefer, but it's certainly worth the wait.

We go to many burger joints locally and I was not impressed at all with this place. First off the customer service was horrible. We sat outside because inside every table had a reserved sign on it. We sat outside for almost 10 minutes freezing so I got up to turn on the heater. I tried to get it on 2 times and finally saw the worker and asked him to turn it on. Rather then walk over and just turn it on for us he proceeded to scold me on me not turning it on and pointed out a very small sticker I didn't see on the bottom of the heater. We spent $140 on our dinner and when we got our double burgers the patties were very small, thin and were not fresh but rather the frozen style. We will not be returning nor will I recommend this place to anyone else.

Ordered food and collected the order then was in line for ranch when a man stepped out from behind the counter and tried to pull my order from my hands without identifying who he is or why and then I pulled back and he said “do u know I’m the manager” well of course I don’t and I didn’t care I don’t appreciate paying and collecting my order and then randomly being yanked of my order from my hands ( especially during COVID times and when the manager wasn’t wearing gloves to protect any germs) Then got kicked out because I was disrespected and offended about the manager who identified after the fact tried to yank my food from my hands. I’m harassed over my meal and get kicked out I will be following up with higher up then the manager who can’t follow a simple COVID protocol Thanks for all readers time

A popular place amongst the local population. Good place to watch a game. There's seating inside and on a covered patio. Pretty good food from my experience. My only complaint is that my order, which was called in for take out, was missing the fries I requested.

Went there for post-Meetup networking. Just ordered soda, so I can't rate the food. Fairly busy for a late afternoon on a Saturday. Seems like a neighborhood favorite. Has a pool table, too! Well-situated on a corner; there's a small lot but luckily I easily found street parking.

Well, I’ve been going here since the late ‘70s. The place is steeped in nostalgia. They must have gotten rid of their seated bar at some point. If you want to sit down and talk to friends, this is the place. I don’t know how they survived, as the Oasis in Menlo closed a little while ago. This is true Stanford history, check it out

Hamburguers were great. I had an excellent tuna melt. Lots of beers from tap and bottled. It has many rooms with different activities (quiz night, sports, etc) just make sure you don't sit by a speaker. They shout loudly people's names to collect their orders.

Funky old place that has a ton of character, food is OK, good burgers, have never tried the famous devilled eggs. Nice bunch of regulars as well that call it their local.

  • 3/5 Erica Y. 10 months ago on Google
Casual pub. It was surprisingly large, with front and back patio, and two different rooms for indoor dining areas. This location also has a wheelchair lift, and one small set of stairs connecting the front to the back, which leads out to the back alleyway/parking for customers. I had a chicken ceasar salad, but I would recommend their burgers, sandwiches, wings, and fries. Those look like the items they are known for, and of course pitchers of beer.

A counter service restaurant makes it hard to rate accurately. Self serve condiment bar had good variety. An older place with a comfy vibe and nice outdoor seating. Far prices on a menu that has something for everyone. I'll be back

Classic American pub and a Menlo Park staple! Burgers, sandwiches, and accompaniments are good. I usually get a cheeseburger salad which is good but it’s basically a deconstructed burger with extra leaf lettuce and no bun. Good place to stop for some shuffleboard or pool on a weekend or evening with some beers and greasy goodness!

Popular place, food is usually good but ours was left to go cold at the counter....the buzzer disk we were given didnt work to notify us when our food was ready so it just sat. We thought they were super busy and patiently waited. Finally when we picked it up and told them it hadnt work she said, yes many of them dont! The food was cold (burger/french fries), no apology, no offer to refire They just dont care.

I have been coming to Dutch goose for many years. Their food is awesome and very reasonable price I would recommend this place for anyone who’s in the area

The Dutch is recognized for being the first public establishment to host the arcade game Computer Space. In 1966, Peter Eccles acquired The Busy Bee eatery in Menlo Park and renamed it The Dutch Goose (later dropping "The") after Mr. "Dutch" Gooseheim, the proprietor of a bar in Kansas City, Missouri where Eccles had his first beer. The business was later sold to Stanford graduate Tom Moroney, and then Greg Stern (the current owner). It remains a popular gathering place for Stanford University students and Silicon Valley workers. In August 1971, a prototype of Computer Space was installed at The Dutch Goose, becoming the first coin-operated video game to enter into public operation.

If you know, you know! Epic sports bar in Menlo Park. Food is solid, drinks are reasonable, bartenders are mostly cool. Occasionally there's a guy who works the main bar in the front who acts bothered any time you ask for anything but by and large the staff are fantastic! Always come for football when we're in the area.

Tried the French Dip and Onions Rings (Very Tasty) , went back for Avocado 🥑 Burger 🍔 and Hawaiian Pizza 🍕(Delicious). The Staff was friendly and they have a meter on a digital display above the front counter that tells you the Wait Time so you get an idea of how busy they are before you order 👍🏼

Love it! Tons of character -- I would best describe it as an upscale dive bar that you would feel more than comfortable bringing a family yoo. Finally, something like a kid-friendly neighborhood bar in Menlo Park! Affordable prices too in comparison to the other nearby bars.

Great place to meet up with friends and just hang out. I used to come here often when i still lived in the area even though they started construction it was always a nice place to on by. Always got the guacamole burger and it always tasted the same every time. Highly recommend this place, I would say Oasis is a good one too but sadly they closed down last year.

I visit the Dutch Goose every month or so to meet with a group of friends. They have a room you can rent/reserve. You will find traditional bar food here (burgers, fries, pizza, etc) and even some salad options. The staff is friendly, and the tables are generally clean. Expect a meal to cost $20 per person for a burger, fries, and a beer. The kitchen gets backed up at dinner time, so expect a 15min wait for your order to come up. This will remain my go to casual place in the area.

We don’t live in this area, but it’s nice to be introduced to places like this. If you’re looking for a place to be loud, this is the place. Every minute:: the cooks yelling a name out to pick up those order in broken English. It’s pretty funny. Until you don’t recognize your name. It has 3 different areas to choose from to sit. If you can find seats (Reserved seating) Busy afternoons. If you do have options.. the covered outside seating is pretty nice. Bar outside- Tree in the middle, warm atmosphere.. If your looking for a spot with a tv, it’s indoors and close to the Bar, on the 1st floor. However, the 2nd floor can get very crowded.. near the Kitchen. Food is alright. Not the reason I would come back for.. but the full ensemble is worth it. 1 Pool table (got to be patient) 1 Half Broken Terminator video game 2 claw machines that are rigged to lose 1 claw machine that is rigged to win Plenty of things to waste quarters on for your kids. Check this place out.. it’s worth the visit.

This is a good place for hot sandwiches and pizza. Even though a lot of yuppies complain about everything it's still a decent spot to eat. Reminds me of a college dive bar. If your feelings are easily hurt find some where else and eat because this place is good they have a decent amount of beers on tap. Menlo park and Palo Alto is snobby and this place doesn't fit in with the snobby yuppies and that's why I love it.
