I read the reviews and when I went it was as I expected. I got a great bike at a great price, I was offered snorkelling equipment, helmet and got a lock. I was shown placed on a map so I could plan my route, and we exchanged WhatsApp and was shown how to share my location if I got into any bother. Returning bike was easy, no concern around bike and just showed interest in my day. My tip would be to call in advance if you want a bike they are in high demand. I was lucky I got one of the last two the rest were all being used. Take care and enjoy Cozumel it’s beautiful 💙👊🏻💙

My wife and I rented bikes from Phillip for the day. He was knowledgable about the island and suggest great points of interest. We biked about 40km total. The bike path is easy to follow and very safe. The bikes were great and he even included snorkel gear. I would highly recommend both Best Bikes itself and exploring the island by bike.

This is a great way to see Cozumel. Philippe is a great guy and wants to make sure you have a good experience. He makes sure the bikes are working well, offers locks, helmets and snorkels, and makes great suggestions about where to go to according to your interests. We rode about 120 km over 3 days with only one minor issue which Phillipe was keen to fix as soon as he heard about it.

Phillip was awesome. This was truly an amazing rental experience. He offered: - Bikes in great condition - Extremely affordable rates - Great communication - Advice on how/where to ride, some of the best playas (beaches) - "Perfecto" flexibility as I changed bikes after a couple of days to ride the route around the island (wanted to ride something besides a "geared cruiser") and my family didn't want to do that ride - Offered snorkeling equipment, locks and helmets as well Just an exceptional experience. If anyone is really considering the island and getting around and you are in reasonable bicycling shape, this is a tremendous way to go. It's very, very safe. There are bike lanes on most of the island. If you are comfortable riding on streets in the US, you'll be more comfortable here. It's a ton safer. Take a LOT of water and sunscreen. I rode the island, about 40 or so miles around the island and it was amazing. The western side of the island isn't as "busy" as the tourist side, I think I saw maybe 10 cars and motorbikes during my morning ride and it was really serene--expect many iguanas, raccoons and birds. Most of the western side, 95% has a protected bicycle lane and the Eastern side either has a protected bicycle path (past the tourist zone) or a bike lane. The Transversal that goes across the island also has a bicycle lane on the right, while not "protected" I would consider really safe. Pro-tip: Ask Phillip the wind direction and heed his advice. I ignored his advice because I was returning the bicycle and it made more logical sense to ride south from the tourist zone, west, north and then back east. Welp, I pedaled numerous kilometers against the wind. I lived, but the cycling would have been more enjoyable the other way for certain. Highly recommended. Thank you Phillip. Cycling Cozumel was one of the highlights of my trip.

Great owner and amazing bikes! Rented bikes for a few days and we had no problem biking on the island. We definitely recommend renting bikes with Phillip.

Philip thank you very much for tempting us three bikes two weeks ago, I still feel guilty for damaging one of the bikes with the chain lock you gave us, just as a recommendation, change them to avoid accidental damage another time, it was very good the tour with the bikes all amazing, they are good brand and light aluminum, thanks for the excellent service, hope to come back soon.

Really nice dude! Asked a few questions to see what I was up to and then hooked me up with a great bike that perfectly fit what I needed. Even gave me a discount cause it was already late in the day. If you need a bike in Cozumel this is the place to go!

Phil was great to work with, and we're happy we rented bikes here. I had contacted him through WhatsApp asking to reserve for the next day, and he recognized us right away when we showed up. He was very thorough in explaining the bike options and getting each bike cleaned, prepared, and set up for our very different heights. He explained the route to our destination and was just very helpful. Our bikes were comfortable and perfect for our journey to the beaches on the south end of the island. If we ever make it back to Cozumel, we will gladly rent here again.

Best Bikes We have had in all of our Mexico trip. The owner was super friendly and provided a perfect service! It is a very good price and on top of that you get snorkeling gear with you! Can definitely recommend this shop

Hired a couple of bikes for the day, and they were perfect! Philip found one to fit my 5' wife, and a Dutch-style bike with large handlebars and a big seat for me, and they were so easy to ride. He also asked what kind of things we wanted to see, and was a great help in steering us (pardon the pun) in the right direction. Really enjoyed the day, and plan to hire again in a couple of days.

Great bike rental service! Philip makes sure that you get a bike that suits your height and adjusts the saddle if necessary. You can make a short test ride to assure that it fits. He also gives valuable recommendations where to go to, how long it will take by bike and where not to go to (e.g. where snorkeling makes little sense). Totally recommend Philip! :)

Philip was super friendly and gave us great advice in terms of places to go to. The bikes were in minty mint condition and the deal was good (250pesos/person for the day). Next time i'm in Cozumel i'll go back for my next ride !

Loved this bike shop!! Phillip was super helpful by describing the routes around the area (for snorkeling and free beaches) and distances between places. Even gave us snorkels too included in the price. Ended up paying 450 pesos for 2 bikes for around 5 hours! The bikes had no issues at all and were very comfortable and had a whatsapp chat for if we had any problems. Definitely recommended.

Philip, who runs Best Bikes Cozumel, was very kind and helpful (he is Canadian and so speaks native English which really helped!). His bikes were very good quality to go round the island and the rental price included the bike, a helmet, a lock and snorkeling gear. He was also really helpful in recommending places to go - if you are looking for cheap good quality rented bikes this is the place!

Decent bikes for a good price. 6 day rental for $90 USD, cash only. Phillip (owner) very friendly and provided good info on how to get around. He also includes a mask and snorkel with the rental which was quite useful. Bikes well maintained; had no problems with mine. Great way to get around, explore areas and sights one would generally not get to, get some exercise, and save on taxi expenses. For example, I was able to ride from my hotel to the Plaza Cozumel shopping district in about the same time as by cab by avoiding traffic on back roads, and saved $10 on RT cab fares everytime I did it. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic couple of days exploring. The bike was excellent quality and a joy to ride. Luis was wonderfully helpful, and assisted with a couple of bungee cords to fix my backpack to the bike rack. Their photo of how to access Playa Mia (the only beautiful beach that's free to access/use that I found in 3 weeks of being in Cozumel!) made it worth the rental alone as would never have found it on my own. Highly recommend them for a great day or two of exploring.

Great Bikes & Location! Just a few blocks away from the center square & ferry. I come to Cozumel every year & I love renting a bike to get around town. (This way I’m not hassled by the aggressive sales people outside all the shops.) Best Bikes also offers their WhatsApp # so if anything happens with the bike. You have someone to contact, who speaks English.
