Offers transport, Boards, lessons and finds the best spots on the island depending on your level. Super kind guy - he will help you with whatever you need. We had a super fun day and a great surf training with Machito! He knows the best places, obviously more or less all people on the island and already the trip to the surf-spot in his unique surfer-car has been a great adventure:-) Even though the conditions have not been easy for surfing, we felt safe all the time and have been successful in standing up on the board several times ;-) Muchas Gracias Machito!

My son and I were on a cruise which was in Cozumel for the day. Machito took us to the beach, we rented boards and he gave us a lesson. We were so lucky to find him. He is honest, caring and overall it was a great experience. Easy to do from a cruise. We were back in town by 1:30 with plenty of time to eat and shop before getting back on the ship. Do not go anywhere else.

It was our first time surfing and we had an awesome time! We booked a 2h lesson and met Machito at his place. He drove us to the beach and pointed out interesting places on the way. He knew all the spots for the different types of waves on the beach and since we were beginners we went to an area with smaller waves. He got us standing on the board on the first try and it was super fun! Highly recommend, super friendly guy, would come back and book another lesson again.

Just had a wonderful day with Miguel from Machito’s surf school. Emailed Miguel about surf lessons during our first trip to Cozumel. He was super prompt in responding and answered all my newbie questions. We also wanted to snorkel so we set up a package for surf lessons and then to go to a snorkel spot. When we arrived on our cruise ship we took a taxi, $15 usd, to his house/shop. After he drove us over to east side. The waves were pretty small but Miguel worked hard to get us up anyway! After our lesson he let us stay out with the boards and try a little longer. We had a great time. After some mangoes we drove around the island and went to a snorkel spot. He went out with us for a while, got some photos and made sure we were comfortable before leaving us to snorkel on our own. We saw lots is beautiful fish and could have strayed all day if we didn’t have a ship to catch. Miguel dropped us off at the port after our snorkel. We had looked at another highly rated instructor but Miguel was super responsive and we went with him. Happy we did. Would recommend.

The best! I reached out to Machito's to book surf lessons for our port day in Cozumel. My teen daughter and I had THE BEST afternoon with Machito. When we arrived to his "shop" early, he invited us in and his wife offered drinks and conversation while we waited. With a little dry surf instruction on the beach, he had my teen daughter riding a beginner wave on her FIRST TRY! For 47-year-old, out-of-shape me, it took three waves before I stood. Miguel and his friends that came along to help were friendly, chatty, and fun! They never left us alone in the water. There was quite a bit of sea grass in Cozumel while we were there so we had to cross some of it to get to the beginner waves, but Miguel even had a fresh water contraption that he hooked up to his car for us to rinse off after our time in the water.

A friend and I sponatenously showed up at Miguels aka Machitos place today and asked if we could rent a board. He was super nice and helpful and even offered to drive us, since we are not goid drivers and did not feel up to it. He helped us to find a good spot with beginner waves and picked us up at a time we had said together. Truly a nice guy so apart from a great surfing experience we also had nice conversations on the way😊

I’ve taken surf lessons around the world in Hawaii, Bali, California, Costa Rica…. But Machito is the BEST teacher I’ve ever had His lesson is extremely fun, and he actually teaches you how to surf and improve. He makes sure you catch waves but most importantly, he makes sure that it is a fun time. The beach that he takes you to is so safe and perfect for beginners Highly recommend for anyone whose thought about surfing. Make sure you book with Machito for the most amazing time!!

I saw a few surf lessons while in Cozumel and we were fortunate to get the best. Attentive, calm, fun and simply good people. They made my family comfortable and we had an excellent instructor in Machito (Miguel). Relax and ride the waves.

We went surfing with Machito and booked the snorkeling tour the next day. Both were absolutely amazing. Machito and Erick are both funny guys that make you feel like you are travelling with friends. I can highly recommend Machito, not only because his flexible and can adjust the trips to your skill level or wishes, but also because jt gives you an authentic, local experience in cozumel. My 2 daughters and I took our 1st surfing lessons with Machito and we had a great time. He was very patient with us newbies and did a great job explaining the basics. By the end of the lesson we were riding waves on our own, highly recommended.

We had an amazing afternoon. We made an appointment with Miguel via whatsapp and two days later we were together in the water. We didn't expect to be able to stand on the board so quick but Miguel teached us very fast. Super friendly guy! We got some footage of our first lesson as well!

Miguel is one of the nicest, most chill guys I’ve met. And he’s an expert instructor. He got me and my 2 kids (20 and 17) catching and riding waves in no time. We had an amazing afternoon. Can’t recommend Machito Surf School enough. Don’t look anywhere else.

Amazing experience! Amazing teacher! This was my first time trying surfing. Miguel drove around with me looking for the beech with the best waves for me, and had me standing up in no time at all. Great instruction and an all round great guy. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back next time I'm in Cozumel 🤙

Fantastic experience. Did a lesson for one of my sons and Miguel/Machito was great from the get go. Responded super fast over WhatsApp, worked with our last minute schedule, led us out to the surf site on the east side of the island, and then delivered not just a 1:1 lesson but a 2:1 lesson with the help of a friend. Cousin? I dunno, doesn't matter. The guy even took drone footage of the surfing/crashing. Very friendly, price was more than reasonable, and we would definitely do this again. RECOMMENDEND.

Had the best day with Machito. I had a surf lesson on my own (solo female) and felt super comfortable. Machito knew where to find the good beginner waves and I even managed to stand up on my first try (this coming from someone with terrible balance!) All contact was smooth and quick and Machito is a great teacher and lovely person. Driving to the beach in Ocho (the lime green beach buggy) is worth the money alone! Would definitely recommend the experience. Thanks Machito, it was great to meet you!

Machito is awesome! I surfed with his boards the last two days and paid for board rentals and transportation. I surfed with his other friend Martino yesterday and both of them today. He really took me up a notch in what I have done and while surfing he really took good watch of me. I am a beginner surfer (surfing a little over a year) and baby waves will be so much easier. He's also a great guy and a kind and loving human! Rentals, transit, lessons...look him up when you are in Cozumel!
