People wear mask and consider health. Good shopping deals and views. They take US dollars. Cigars from Cuba are not hard to find

One of the best sea port in Mexico. The island of Cozumel is located just off the east coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and is directly across the water from Playa Del Carmen and about an hour and a half from the Cancun airport. Located on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef (the second-largest coral reef system in the world), Cozumel is an incredible spot for turquoise Caribbean waters, white sand beaches, and world-class diving and snorkeling. This is DEFINITELY the Island Life!

We took a 7 day trip to Cozumel via a Carnival cruise, loads of fun for our honeymoon! I highly suggest adding a few excursions planned through the line so you can visit the heart of Mexico experience some of the cuisine and ge tawny from just the tourist port.

Very beautiful, taxi rides to beach are expensive and I recommend bringing cash to Cozumel because if you use credit card it's 20% interest

After leaving the ship, head towards the Three Amigos, then down towards the Diamond dealer, then turn the corner to the taxis. There are big "Puerta Maya" letters posted as you're walking towards the main street (on the left). But directly across from that sign is a list of beaches and the price for a group of people to get to the beaches. Try the Paradise or San Francisco Beach. I think it's $15 bucks for 1 to 4 people one way. But make sure you understand that the price is not per person, so a good group can save money. Also, all of the beaches are literally right next to each other. So, if you choose to go to San Francisco Beach, you're literally sitting right next door to Paradise Beach. No separation by wall, brick, nothing. And you can wander through all of them. None of them are exclusive, as far as I know. The taxi drivers might suggest different beaches because they are promoting the restaurants. You'll be dropped off at the entrance of a restaurant, and someone will escort you to a beach chair. Just sit where you want to sit. Excursions can be purchased as long as you have enough time to complete the excursion, then catch a cab back to the port entrance. Most beaches are within a 5 minute drive. Fat Tuesdays at the port entrance plays great music, but it can be crowded. Don't buy the 4 for $20 T-shirts. Go outside the terminal entrance where the "Puerta Maya" sign is, go across the street, find Danny's Shopping (red sign), and get 6 for $20, instead! You'll need to show your cruise ship card to get back through the gate from where the taxi stands are located. There is a Waterpark out in the sea at the San Francisco beach, but it can be accessed from most of the other beaches, (maybe 15 to 30 feet from beach chairs).

I spent a day in Cozumel. I did an all day excursion which included going to Cozumel with ferry, drove to the opposite side of the island, beach club, party on the boat and then snorkelling with star fishes. The water is really clean and not so much seaweed as elsewhere. Definitely was an highlight of my trip. Worth visiting! I visited in May 2023

Quaint little island city known as a party island. Almost all beach clubs are too packed whenever the cruise ships come into port. Hard to avoid crowds. The taxi companies monopolize the fees just like elsewhere in corrupt Mexico. The food at certain places still very good. Most beach clubs charge entrance fees despite how poor and small their beaches are, enormous prices for food and drinks. One of the least favourite cruise port.
