Roberta’s Scuba Shack is a top notch operation. I’ve been coming here for years and when I come to Cozemel Mexico I always stay at the Village Tan Kah which is also owned by Roberta and located just across the street from Roberta‘s Scuba Shack which makes it easy access to your morning dive trips. The scuba shack is located just steps away from where the cruise ships come in so….any cruise ship divers will know they can literally walk a couple of blocks and be diving on one of her regular day trips each day. Cozumel is one of the top three diverse in the world and the dive masters and boat captains will show you the best diving possible. You will not be disappointed. If you have time for it be sure to ask for a twilight and night dive. The undersea life at night is amazing

Had an amazing trip at Roberta’s, 18 dives in 6 days. Weather closed the docks early one night, so a twilight + night dive pivoted to an afternoon single tank dive. We cycled through a bunch of different boats and dive masters who were all excellent. Gil and Elpi were especially good divemasters. Fresh made bread/cake was a nice treat. Some of the boats were a little tight, but fine for 6 divers. Orca was the best boat, wider and had tank holders for each seat so you could sit next to your gear. On our first arrival we were booked for a twilight and night dive but they canceled on us due to other divers not showing up, so we only had 2. Instead we dove the house reef from the dock which was free, and had lots of interesting things to see. They also mentioned that if we paid for an additional 2 divers we could go out with 2. However the logistics of our arrival time didn’t have enough lead time to coordinate that. After that we never had another problem and every dive was very special. Some of the best night dives I have ever been on. Got to see everything on the bucket list. Tons of octopus and squids, the endemic splendid toadfish, eagle rays breaching the surface. Lots of turtles and stingrays. Amazing swim throughs at multiple sites by Palancar. Paradise reef was by far the best spot for night dives, low current and lots of sightings and not many bugs both times we did it. We had strong current and lots of worms/bugs on another night dive at Delilah which was not as enjoyable. Another great feature of this dive shop was they packed coats for everyone from a local swim team that helped keep us warm after a dive. Something I didn’t plan for which was a really nice touch. Will be returning here. A+

I'm glad I chose Roberta's Scuba Shack in Cozumel for my scuba adventures. In November 2018 I stayed at the Casa del Mar hotel, which is literally across the street from Roberta's. Booking online via email was a breeze. Ruth had very clear communications. Once in Cozumel, I was communicating with Willie, a very friendly staff member who took our information and gear sizes. Their boats are small 10-person dive boats. You roll off the side to get in the water. Rudy was our dive Master and he was amazing. On our second dive he spotted 6 hawksbill sea turtles! I strongly recommend trusting Roberta's Scuba Shack with your dive trips.

When you go to dive, this is where you go. The entire staff are expert divers with detailed knowledge of all the reefs in the area. And they have a small hotel with a nice shady courtyard and pool area so you can literally walk to the dive boat. Located on close to town and close to all the best dives.

Highly recommend them For getting certified or going diving. I was recommended by a friend and it was a great recommendation. Adrian was my instructor and he was awesome. Great guy and he totally put me at ease. The people at the shop and the guys on the boat were all a pleasure to deal with.

The Village Tan Kah and Roberta’s Scuba Shack gave us a diving experience worth remembering! The room we’ve stayed at was large and clean with plenty of filtered water, coffee, refrigerator, and microwave. Also, Roberta had our fridge filled with beer to boot! Every day we were in Cozumel, we would wake up, eat their provided light breakfast of fresh homemade bread, fruits, juice, and yogurt before setting off on a boat dive across the street at Roberta’s Scuba Shack. Elpi and Adrian along with the boat captains were accommodating and helped us as newer divers with exploring the wonderful reef and various sites. Originally we planned 3 2-cylinder dive boat trips, but last minute, Roberta and Daniel were able to get us squeezed into another boat trip which was absolutely awesome. The staff also treated us as family and even cleaning staff secured loose valuables left out in the open into the safe for us during one of our dives. I absolutely adore this place and I’m planning another trip for the near future.

Very happy with the service from Roberta's. The team is great and made our diving trip fantastic. My.first time diving with them but others in my group have gone to them many times in recent years. Picked us up right at the beach at the resort. Great prices and always small groups. Highly recommend

We had an amazing time with 8 dives over 4 days plus a shore dive. Everyone was great from boat captain, dive captain to the staff on shore. Roberta is the best too. Not only very knowledgable and helpfull but she even gave restaurant reccomendations and called to make us a birthday reservation at the best spot in town. We did some great drift dives, huge swim throughs and a ship dive with the highlights being a 6ft eal, grouper and a sea horse! The dive captains were so much fun too. Thanks roberta, we'll be back soon!

The entire staff was extremely nice and professional. They were very accommodating and gave us every thing we asked for. Daniel is super chill and makes you feel like family. Roberta is still involved with day to day operations and introduced herself to me already knowing my name, very impressive. She has living quarters directly across the street which are quaint, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Wake up, walk across street, get in boat and go dive. Very quick and efficient. There are unlimited tanks for free shore diving as well. Memo was our dive master, I have to say he is the best Divemaster I have encountered on any of my dive trips. Memo is very personable and easy going. He will take you to all the best dive sites and maintain a high level of safety. We are already planning our next trip with Roberta’s Scuba Shack. Best concierge scuba trips available.

When you are in Cozumel and want to dive, this is where I’ll be from now on. My wife and I had an amazing19 dives within 10 days. Loved everyone we came in contact with at Roberta’s scuba shack. The entire staff and diving team are friendly, accommodating with detailed knowledge of all the reefs in the area. The communication was great and it was delight to be around them. I definitely recommend Roberta's Scuba Shack (5/5).

Amazing experience and staff! I would definitely go again! The scuba diving instructor was so knowledgeable (20+ years of experience) and made us feel safe during our first time scuba diving!

We stayed with the Scuba Shack for 6 days. Roberta and her Team were amazing. Always friendly, attentive and helpful. The communication beforehand was easy and transparent. Equipment and boats in good condition. All captains, dive masters and instructors were very knowledgable and experienced - felt safe and looked after 100% of the time. Boats carry emergency oxigen and dive masters provide detailed briefings of the specific sites. Max group size on the boat is at 6-8 people, which gives the experience a privat feel. Dive sites are Diver's choice, depending on the current weather conditions. I finished the drift diving speciality at the Scuba Shack which enabled me to marvel the reefs and aquatic life of Cozumel even more and did 6 additional fun dives. My boyfriend tried the Discover scuba dive and enjoyed that, too. He, as well, felt very safe with Adrián the instructor (special thanks for making this happen and getting him hooked on scuba diving! :) Apart from all the praise, I feel I have to add a lil criticism for our cabaña. All, but one (ours) are located within a beautifully layed out garden, that also offers a pool to relax in, while ours was facing the street. Especially in the wee hours of the day, when the tanks, stored on the sidewalk in front of our cabaña, get picked up/exchanged, it was quite noisy. Apart from this minor inconvenience, the cabaña was very spacious, tidy and clean, with a supply of filtered water, thanks to the staff, that's taking good care of the place. Thanks Roberta and Team (!) for making our stay and experience so pleasant! 4.8/5 - would definitely come again!

Our preferred dive shop for world class scuba instruction: personal attention, quality gear, great service. And most importantly, you will feel completely safe while having a ton of fun underwater! These are some photos from our recent Quiet Transformation retreat.

My wife and I dove with Roberta's in 2018 for a week and were so impressed that we returned for our first post pandemic trip this week. We booked 4 dive days and the operation was even more professional and friendly than we remembered! The first three days were amazing but on the fourth day I awoke to realize that the only diving I'd be doing would be in the hotel bathroom (a few jalapeños too many). My wife went to Roberta's and she cheerfully juggled a few things around and rescheduled us for the next morning. Looking forward to tomorrow and another spectacular dive with their team. Thank you Roberta! Mike G.

This is our first time visiting the island. We spent the week diving at Roberta's Scuba Shack and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, accommodating and a delight to be around. Communication was great. Boats are small but not overpacked and lots of room for what you need. The dive masters were professional and very helpful. We will definitely be back sooner than later. Thanks for a great week.

Excellent service and extremely helpful. 10/10... I defenetntly recommend Roberta's Scuba Shack if you want to get certified or just want to scuba dive with a professional team. Michel Abrao did a great job helping my son with his PADI certification and Juan, Mr. Escualo, was great during our scuba diving "tour"👍🏻

I stayed and did 3 days of diving with Roberta's last month and had an incredible time!! The rental gear was great and they have lockers right at the shop to leave all your gear. Small fast boats get you to your dive site quick. I stayed across the street from the shop at the village, very clean and comfortable accommodations. The grounds are clean and quiet and you have a community kitchen to use as needed. The staff are amazing! To Daniel and David, thank you for your smiles and help from the moment I arrived. You both really made my stay memorable. The divemasters were incredible - Juan, Elbi and Alberto, thank you!! The boat captains are also so nice and helpful, lots of smiles and jokes. Thanks to everyone for carrying my gear :) Roberta - you have small but mighty shop, thank you for everything! Planning my return now!

Loved everyone we came in contact with at Roberta’s scuba shack. Very accommodating and willing to work with us with anxiety issues as well as sickness problems that came about from traveling. I did the e-learning certification here at home on my own time and the. Setup my dives during my vacation in Cozumel. Adrian was my instructor and took time to explain the process of what to do before we got into the water and what we would be working on in each dive. Gave ample breaks in-between surfacing to change out the tanks and feel comfortable before going back into the water. Kept all of our gear there for the duration of our 5 day trip with no issues. I am excited to bring back my daughters to get certified next year

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Roberta answered my emails quickly. My cruise ship cancelled my dives. It arrived too late to get on a morning dive boat so I went to Roberta's Scuba Shack and did two shore dives. It's right on the water. Nice setup area, showers and dunk tanks. Very interesting dives. Loved the aircraft wreckage. (five buoys to the south). There were enough coral formations with sea life to keep my interest. I wouldn't mind doing the same dives again, if I miss the boat.

Four days of diving. Enjoyed the dives immensely. Friendly and accommodative staff and dive masters that did excellent jobs with respect to safety and knowledge. Girlfriend was OW certified with them. I can say that her training was tremendously more thorough and detailed than the OW training that I received. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive… very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Excellent outfit from the top down. My 12 year old and 14 year old had an amazing first dive with Miguel. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Reasonably priced to the other scuba shops. There is obviously a reason why Roberta’s Scuba Shack comes up a lot in forums when people are asking who to dive with.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST….Robertas is legendary and I totally get why, within 5 minutes of meeting Roberta and her team you feel like family, the boats are fast and 6 only, prices are great and the level of expertise is second to non.

I had a chance to dive out of Robert's Scuba Shack this past August. This was my first time on the island as well as my first Tropical diving experience. It was absolutely fantastic. Roberta and her staff are equally fantastic and took great care of us the entire time. Super friendly and helpful and fun to be around. I could not recommend any higher. We have already booked the next trip for this coming January. Can't wait to go again.

Great diving shop! The best I found. This will be my go to dive shop for all my other Cozumel dives. I have been diving with Juan and he his a great dive master. His dives are safe and well planned and he goes out of the way to find beautiful uncrowded spots. Unless other dive companies who drop you above 15 other divers at the exact same spot and time as all the other dive companies, when diving with Juan we were the only dive group around. He has enough skills and experience to take his divers around more challenging dive sites. The boat captains at this shop were also great. Super efficient with taking care of the gear and the divers and very careful and skilled when moving the boat around divers, which is not the case for all the dive companies.

I got OW certified at Roberta’s Scuba Shack. Previously, I tried a Discovery Scuba session back in Austin, and I was horrible. That experience made me feel very insecure about starting my certification. As soon as I arrived at Roberta’s, the staff greeted me with big smiles. The instructor Adrian heard my concerns, showed me the best practices, pointed out what to do and what not to do… and finally certified me! There are no words that expresses my gratitude for the fantastic instructor that showed me I CAN do it! I just have to breath! Kudos to Roberta for having a great team! I will come back to Cozumel and dive again with them!
