Our company has used this facility on multiple occasions. The counter people aren’t the nicest people and always have excuses for anything. This will be the last time we use them. The hotel looks nice but we never get the room we request with weeks in advance. This time was no different even tho we requested it in advance. The room we got has a leak in the bathroom and the floor was full of water. We asked for a different room and they said no, we had to wait. Location is good for business but the headache isn’t worth with. The only people that are nice are the bellboys. We booked a stay for the 18-19 and not only did they charged us more money then it was booked for (said they can’t honor or change) they gave us the wrong room and with a leak in the bathroom. Obviously looks very nice and it’s in a great location but there customer service lacks and maintenance seem not be there. Very sad to have use a different hotel after all the times we had used them, sadly it has become an issue to just get what you pay for.

Awesome architecture, really nice place. Nice buffet. Not a fan of the ceiling height of the rooms.

The hotel is nice, the location is the best. But the hotel is overpriced. The TV in the room wasn't connected to watch TV, the internet in my room was horrible and I couldn't use it for working on the laptop. I also always had to ask for someone to clean the room because even at 6 pm there was no cleaning service done. I also found it a bit annoying that my companion always had to show her ID at the front desk to accompany me even though she was a registered guest in my reservation. So while the hotel is nice and clean, I will use another hotel in the area next time.

The place is definitely beautiful, gorgeous pool, service is awful, takes hours for room service and buffet doesn't include everything, for the price they charge seems penny pinching in my view, there is no room fridge, even though the place is beautiful I rather stay at a less pretty place and get more amenities, looks just for show

Very beautiful location, located right across a 3 floor shopping center that makes any mall in the US look like a Walmart, the staff is always friendly and quick to help. I always stay here or the other location they have in MTY.

The location of this hotel is very convenient you have access to a lot of things and very close to great restaurants. The lobby is really nice but when it comes to the room they are very outdated. For the price they charge I was honestly expecting a lot more and it being a 4 diamond hotel. They have no fridge or microwave in the room and smell and looked very old. Also the blankets and towels weren't always very cleaned when changed they were stained. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place for that price.

This Hotel has been awarded to be a 4 diamond Hotel. However I have stayed in 5 diamond Hotels and this one shouldn't not be a diamond class- Hotel. The Hotel's lobby area was very elegant but very vintage. The rooms didn't come with a mini fridge or microwave and were very vintage.

Terrible place! EVENING MANAGEMENT TEAM IS HORRIBLE!! Our first room had a dirty underwear from a previous guest and the toilet was not flushed. We talked to management and they said they had no rooms because of a conference but they “left another guest without a room to accommodate us”.They changed us rooms and the second one the bathroom was also dirty, the shower had hand prints and the sink had hard water stains all over it (where not even a wet cloth was used to clean). Well once again we let them know and even though they had “no” rooms they found another one which a huge downgrade from the king suite we had originally reserved they changed us to a simple double bed room. We talked to management and they said they had no way to give us a room to the same level. Since we had a dinner reservation we decided to just let the problem go. Well bad decision, we woke up the next day and the hotel had no hot water and the shower did not drain. We packed our bags left as soon as possible. What made me more upset about this whole problem was the way the evening management team handled it. They had an “oh well” attitude. On the other hand the morning management team was very very understanding, when we told Kenia about the issue she got us a room right away in the sister hotel next door. I would never come back to this hotel and do not recommend.

Excellent location, this hotel is near the city center where there's a lot of shops and restaurants at a walking distance! Adding on, the service they provide is great, the whole staff is very kind and professional, I loved it. The breakfast they offer is amazing too. Definitely recommend.

Great location, Hotel has classic charm and an impressive luxurious entrance and lobby. Mall across the street is very nice. Room is comfortable and well decorated. Service is good except for wake up service, did not receive a call three days in a row. Other than that. Will definitely stay again, It's better than the Safi Metropolitan right around the corner.

A very nice hotel but definitely not worth a AAA 4 diamond rating. In my room the tiles were not adhered to the floor. The bathroom faucet leaked. The showerhead was broken along with the diverter mechanism. Air conditioning only adjusted by full degrees Celsius, not half degrees so you could never find a proper temperature. And the ice cream I ordered in the bar as a snack was served in a warm glass, melting the ice cream. Again very nice hotel but to be 4 diamond you have to do better

This hotel is beautiful and elegant rooms were cold as I like and bed were clean and big enough. When we got there they todo a lot of time to check in there was so much people and there was quinceañera going on so you can imagine how crazy it was. Another thing that bothered me was that they made my husband pay for breakfast but when we showed up there was 2-3 hours wait.. by that time buffet would b over! So we decided to leave early to find food elsewhere. With that being said I think I would think about staying here again.

This hotel had an endless stream of small problems, none of which would bother me at all alone but cumulatively were rather frustrating. First they double charged me because they didn't recognize the payment through the third party booking I used. They eventually reversed it and refunded me but annoying. In my 3 nights there I had to have my key reset 4 times because it just wouldn't open the door. Which was annoying. The Showerhead had been so neglected that mold was covering many of the little spigots and the shower door didn't close all of the way so despite my efforts the bathroom floor was covered in water. The WIFI was inconsistent at best. Nothing singularly is a deal killer but together they really frustrated my experience here. I will not be returning to this hotel though I will likely return to Monterrey.

My first time stay at the Safi Royal Luxury hotel in Valle was extremely pleasant. This was due to the service of the entire staff but I need point out one in particular. Rafael Reyes made our stay over the top. He made felt like we were at home. You do not get that from staying at a hotel or even at a resort. I do not know where he got his training from nor do I know what position he holds but if he was not part of management I will be very surprised. I am sure this review will never reach the hotel management but I hope they do. They need more personnel like him.

This hotel feels very outdated and definitely not luxury. Rooms feel dirty and the air conditioning has 1 just setting which blows heavy and smelly air. The curtains are gross, yellow walls are gross, and bedding has stains. Will be recommending my business not use in future.

The hotel is old and expensive. The only good thing is the location, near to a mall and good restaurants

  • 5/5 Richard E. 2 years ago on Google
This is a bit pricey for the area but its a very fine hotel with even better people. So accommodating and no surprise charges. No pressure for tips (I came without pesos and could not tip till the end of my 2nd day). Careful about the breakfast, the included part is limited and if you get even 1 item not included they charge. The waitstaff are very good about warning about this and they make sure you have a server who speaks English if that is your preference.

  • 5/5 Isaac v. 1 year ago on Google
I think this is one of the must luxurious hotels ins mexico, although it’s not a new building. Furniture is old. Also the waiters could be doing a better job in the restaurant. But location is magnificent. Very safe and a lot of restaurants to eat.

Service is terrible I’m very offended by the way half of the staff treats you. At breakfast if you don’t look like you have money or don’t have a suit or dress they don’t attend you. When you call room service to your room they take hours to come sometimes never come. Valet is the only 1 I give 5 stars

Hotel Safi's personal has always been great. This is my second stay at the hotel and they have always been there for every need. From the bartender to the hostess, to the receptionist, have always found a way yo impress me with the quality of service

Hotel rooms need a lit of maintenance. We had our rooms changed twice and the third time we decided to switch hotels. First room had an unbearable smell of cigarette, second had roaches in the bathroom and third room shower was extremely small with a jacuzzi filled with mold and the shower clogged and sporadic hot water. We did give it a try but we had an 8 night stay and decided we could not take it after a couple of nights. They say we left we forgot a bag in the room and came back for it, surprisingly they couldn’t check until after 8:00 am, the next day they said until the afternoon and in the afternoon that until the next day but that we were not going to find it. It is supposed to be a luxury hotel but it is in desperate need of maintenance and customer service.

Booked this hotel thru Expedia. Got very good deal as a package. Giving 3 stars as overall I enjoyed my stay. It’s a nice hotel but definitely NOT a luxury hotel. Almost NO ONE speaks English. Front end staff seems rude. Rooms are old. A/C didn’t work well. Seemed A/C was on just one setting. Towels were dirty, had discolored patches. Other staff generally eager to provide good service. Tip well and you will be taken care off. I don’t recommend for business travelers. Smallest iron board I ever used. Iron was chained the the ironing board. Very difficult to use.

Nice hotel but service is terrible. Check in takes forever, we had a reservation for 2 days which was confirmed at check in since we are here for a wedding. We left for lunch and came back to get ready to find out our key was not working and we only had a one night reservation. We called and they told us we would have to book for another night and to do it quick because they were filling up. While all our things were still in the room and I had a confirmation email for 2 nights. We had to go back to the lobby and wait some more which made us late for the wedding. They have a 2 night reservation in our check in but only charged us for one so our keycard was disabled. And all we got was a “oh I am sorry shame on us can I get your card to charge you again?”. No explanation of why it happened or anything to rectify the situation and we couldn’t make it for the wedding ceremony on time. For such a nice hotel I would have expected more.

Except good location there is nothing else what could make your stay nice and pleasant. Hotel is quiet old and you can definitely smell it in the room. Rooms are big, but many people from our group got rooms with tiny window, which make your stay depressing and feeling like night all the time. Curtains are very dirty. You can hear everything from the rooms next to you, talking, flushing the toilet etc. WIFI is very poor or not working at all. Breakfast is good enough with many options, but the place can be very crowded. Maybe it was "Luxury" 10 years ago, but definitely not now.

Internet works 20% of your stay, and it’s barely fast enough for YouTube. Expensive rate $152 w/ all fees and doesn’t include breakfast. Exercise room air conditioning is broken and it’s actually cooler outside. 1-2 channels in English on TV. Room keys haven’t worked more than 24 hours before I need a new one. Pool area is small. I will not bring clients back here. There are other places within walk-in distance for better value. Staff likely doesn’t have the power to fix any of these thing. It’s normal life for them.

  • 5/5 LB 7. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are a bit older but nevertheless I will give 5/5. The employees are so friendly. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has a good fan. Aircon is working very good. Room service 24h. Good restaurant. Nice (small) pool. It’s a historic house, not a modern place. If you like this, you will enjoy it.

I had a wonderful experience here. The staff was very friendly and always ensured we were satisfied and comfortable. The location is perfect as well. It’s close to shopping and many restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the great staff at this hotel.

BEWARE! We stayed at Safi for 2 nights and had $10,000 pesos stolen. When we went downstairs to ask and tell them what happened they called the cops and kicked us out. Mayte, the person that was in reception was not empathetic or working with us. She called the Mexican cops and they escorted us out at 2AM without caring about our whereabouts. It was the first time my boyfriend visited Mexico and our money was stolen and Mayte kicked us out without any explanation. It’s a shame since I have been staying in this hotel every time I’ve been in MTY.

I travel often and this has got to be one of the worst hotels, if not the worst I’ve ever stayed at. The food was average at best and the could sure you a lesson on customer service. Also hot water is a hit or miss. I know it’s MX but you are suppose to be a luxurious hotel. I will never stay at this hotel or it’s affiliate’s again.

Great hotel, the facilities are in good conditions overall. The rooms are ok, they have all you need for your trip. The hotel has a good location, surrounded by good restaurants and shops. Good choice for staying in the area.
