San Roque Club laid in the most fabulous reception and banquet for my daughters’ wedding. Every detail was perfect and biggest thanks to their events manager, Mimi for all the support she gave us!!!

Members club guest not welcome ! Looked forward to a round on the new course this week, the splendour of the old course and the clubhouse however are not extended to the new course, neither was the attitude of the course staff who are very much tuned into the members demands. Once the caddie marshal realised we were playing the new course on a twighlight rate all courtesy was foregone, we were made wait an hour on an empty course to start a round. Once we started it became immediately obvious that the new course is in very poor condition, most of the 18 greens were diseased and poorly presented and the tee boxes bare of grass. Not good enough no matter what rate you pay. If you're looking for something special then this is not the venue. Not that the membership are likely to care !

Absolutely one of the best courses in the area. Not as tough as Valderrama that is just a few minutes away. Tee, fairway and greens are just absolutely great. Service from the parking, restaurant and pro shop was excellent. Putting green in front of the restaurant was great, great speed on the stimp when we played. This course is one that you need to play in the area!

Superb golf course with brilliant facilities and an excellent team. We had the pleasure of playing with Gonzalo, the head pro. What a gent. The course is beautifully manicured, a tricky layout and quite a tough challenge. The Greens are fast, very nuanced and will punish you if you don't approach with caution! Super course layout, and excellent food and clubhouse. Highly recommended

Very nice course, but very difficult for us. Very narrow and many bunkers..

One of the most bunker-heavy courses on the Costa, making this quite a chalkenging track. It is in pretty good nick, although a couple of greens are a little patchy.

Top quality golf course. Was better before they modified the old course. Now it's a bit like many other golf courses in the Costa del sol

Our group has been to San Roque New for many years and had set the expectation of the course very high to our new members this year. What a shocking disappointment it was this year with the tees, fairways and greens completely starved of water. Almost all greens had large bare patches and in one green we found a mushroom growing. Later we found out that the Government had restricted the water supply and it was obvious that whatever water was used had been on the Old course, which looked as good as ever. The really sad thing was that the club continued to take our money without a whisper coming from Golfbreaks ahead of our visit. This was unforgivable especially as we also learned that the members were only being charged annual fees for the Old course and not for both courses as they would have been and a party at our same hotel were given the chance to switch to the New course for a €30 premium ahead of their visit.

played it today…. course lay out is decent the greens are shocking the worst i’ve played on…..to make matters worse they don’t sell water at the clubhouse so you have to buy a tin bottle for 12 € and top your bottles up at water stations on the course …. to which the water tasted like swimming pool water….. would not play it again if they paid me

I suppose disappointed is the right description... beautiful set up quality food with stunning views of old course. However we played the new course and it was a big let down.. scruffy fairways and greens nothing like quality expected. Also expected to pay for practice balls and buy water containers to get water at various points. Trolley appeared once... not good enough for the price paid. We played La Reserva the day before... light years ahead.

I have played San Roque for many years and have brought many groups to play. No more never again. Our group had over 1500 Euros stolen from three golf bags. They never warned our group about thefts at their club and the president of the club would nothing about it. In addition the bunkers were unplayed, not raked and hard as cement. Lots of great courses around Sotogrande no need to waist your money at San Roque.

Incredible experience. Extremely well organized and a warm, friendly welcome from Ramón, had our range balls waiting for us in our bays after loading up the buggies and told us everything we needed to know about the course. Very well maintained installations, nicely decorated clubhouse and a well stocked and reasonably priced pro shop. We played the new course for a very reasonable price, considering the area and prestige of the club. The greens could be improved but they were still nice to play on, GUR could also be marked better as there was contradicting information on some holes (i.e. sinkhole fenced off, marked with white OB posts and a red hazard paint line but no blue posts/paint). The only real negative we had were the buggies unfortunately, out of the two we had one had a broken GPS (could only see overview so no distance readings) and the other kept cutting power due to the GPS thinking it was off the path in restricted areas which slowed the game down, the staff member I informed about the problem noted down the buggy numbers to have them looked at so happy with how it was dealt with. Looking forward to our next trip down!

Reviewing NEW COURSE. Me and my friends vacationing in Spain, starting on this course. Arriving you feel like in high class resort and it probably is. Checking was very fast and easy, I had chance to get logo ball for my collection and check in. We were asking if there is water available and refreshment on the course, we were told yes. We asked if we can get bottles to fill in and we were told that caddy master will manage, and there we did mistake. We forgot about "manana" style. On the course we were not able to drink because we had no bottles and refreshment cart arrived on 16th hole. Look like that there is no one interested in tourist money once they pay for fee. Training areas are nice and well maintained, BUT chipping green is artificial, so no reality. Driving matts, no real grass. Now I have to admit stunning putting green in front of the restaurant and great view on 18th green of Old Course. Clubhouse is very nice and stylish. Back to course and game. Finding 1st tee was easy. What a surprise was that course is completely dry, there were not much green grass on fairways. Biggest disappointment were greens. Fast no doubt, good roll, but horrible quality compare to practice green. So we came to Spain to play worst green for 3xhigher price than we have at home. Course is not very difficult, you will not lose a ball if you play wisely, fairways are wide. What was weird that all par 3 had same distance, so no imagination. Design wise its nothing special, there are nicer courses. Signature hole for me would be probably 4th. Personally I have no feelings for this course, but its just my view ;)

Played here in November. The new course is in a very good shape. The staff from front desk to caddie master is super friendly and helpful. Love to come back to play the new "old" course. You can already imagine what a top course it is going to be!

Beautiful course in really good shape. Outstanding service from staff and caddy master. Very good value for money compared to a lot of other courses in the area. Immaculate greens, with good speed. Love to play again.

We played the New Course (which is the old now). Course in good condition but not comparable with the Old Course. Quite demanding, sometimes a challenge. What you get for the price is certainly ok. After the game we had a drink in the restaurant which was great - to see the "big Golf world".

Probably one of the warmest and welcoming golf courses I’ve ever played in Spain. The members I met in the bar (John, Lainè and Mike) were bang on. I’m stood in the bar ordering brekkie an politely got into chatting with a member asking what the group were doing, turned out it was a comp for low handicappers and did I wanna join!… That for me spoke volumes, so warm and welcoming, some good banter was had, played the old course which was a real joy. Some real challenges on it though, length off the back tee’s make all the difference, some of the greens were a real challenge but were true so gave confidence to commit to the putt. Food was real nice, staff were great, practice area was real good, staff were accommodating, made my visit a real joy. Especially paying £130 for a round on a championship course, for me it’s not an issue as I love the game but for that money it all needs to fit into place and here, it delivered that for sure…. Definitely worth a visit
