Going to Mama J's is like going to my grandmother's house on Sunday afternoon. The food is terrific and the waitresses are as sweet as their pie. Wonderful place.

Good food! Recommend Chicken Fried steak, mashed potatoes, chicken strips and mp or cheeseburgers. Their hamburger steak is really good as well.

The breakfasts are delicious.. from the tacos to the pancakes.. yum!! I could eat the crispy chicken salad daily! Daily lunch specials are great-big portions, with a dessert, great prices! The restaurant is clean & the staff is so accommodating and friendly. 10/10 definitely recommend

Ate here today…all tables were dirty…watched several patrons hand wipe down their own tables before they set down. Waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order…ordered the special (ribs tasted like they were left over, baked sweet potato was very small, baked beans were actually pork and beans, bread was dry). Since we ordered the “special” we figured it would be readily available. Don’t advertise baked beans and serve canned pork and beans. We actually waited 30 minutes for someone to bring us our food order. Also had to ask for silverware. Won’t be eating there again.

Mama Js is a great place to eat! 5 stars doesn’t do it justice! Across the board the food is amazing! The steak and lobster was fantastic!

This my go-to local restaurant. San Saba is a small town, so expect small town atmosphere and staff. It's really friendly, but I'm sure they get too busy for their own good sometimes! The burgers are great and so is the chicken fried steak. Mainly the cheeseburger for me.

Everything was great except the food. The pork chop looked nothing like the picture. It was flat like a pancake and very tough to chew, not plump and juicyat all. I had steak and eggs and it was not 3 tender medallions but instead one piece of steak, no seasoning. The service was very good, the restaurant was very clean and nice looking, but, I went there to eat...

Every time I come in, the food is great and so is the staff. It was extra exceptional today, with Jennifer and Katie. They had smiles on their faces and truly make the atmosphere perfect here
