Amazing and my favorite pintxos bar in San sebastian it is soooo good really. So it opens at 7:30 pm theoretically but practically they open a little earlier at 7:20ish so be there on time to immediately have a spot to be able to order. We were very lucky and got in around 7:25 and could get a nice spot and then started ordering everything of the menu. Super reasonably priced and very tasty from now on this is the spot!! We loved everything we ordered maybe except for de oreja de cerdo which we didn’t realize was pig ear still good but just not used to eat that but seasoning was great. Then the risotto was delicious, the entrecôte super well cooked rare perfect, the gazpacho super deli and all the rest was really amazing. If you are looking for a pintxos spot this is it don’t look further!! Thank you we will be back 😍

Definitely try fish of the day, the pork ribs, and the vegetables with mushrooms. The risotto was alright. The service was excellent.

THE BEST!!!! This is the best tapas bar in San Sebastián in my opinion. I went in for a quick dinner and decided to stay until I've tried each and every dish on the menu that evening. The service of fast and very good. If you don't believe me... Just try the risotto and we'll talk after that!

Wow! Delicious tapas at extremely reasonable prices. Get ready for a wild ride in there—it gets busy even right at opening time but they have crazy fast service to push these dishes out. Stand at the bar to get a preview of everything amazing that’s coming out of the kitchen. The beef cheeks and kebab were the stars, and we really enjoyed the risotto. Ravioli was alright, but I’d probably swap it for something else next time.

The treatment of the staff is great! Very friendly and nice people. Very average prices compared to bars around. We will honestly be back for another risotto ... The pork ribs here are fantastic. Crunchy on the outside, juicy and melty inside, covered in house sauce, this is a must try at this venue. The tomato and mozzarella are refreshing, a great choice on a sunny day.

This place gets packed! The main woman who runs the bar is amazing. She will whip you and anyone else into line. No messing about and I love her for it. This is no time to be unprepared and not know what you want to order! The Risotto and kebab (pork rib) are their specialities. The entrecôte is also amazing - I think better than the rib.

The Hype is real! Rib kebab and beef cheeks are perfectly slow cooked, tender and flavorful. Cheese risotto was also a winner. Food is good, but it’s really worth going to this place for the fun experience of controlled chaos and eating frenzy!

My wife and I visited Borda Berri around opening time on our visit to Donostia, and instantly could see why the place is so popular. As soon as it opens it's filled with a friendly, lively crowd, all there to enjoy the amazing food. We loved the high-energy atmosphere and the food brings this place to another level. Especially recommend the veal cheek and above all the unbelievable risotto, which is one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. Be sure to get the raviolo also because it runs out fast! This place has great character to it, the staff were all amazing and so friendly too, and I would love to visit Borda Berri again.

No words can express how much I loved the food there! Yes it’s crowdy, yes it’s loud and tight, but it is so worth it! Best risotto I’ve ever had! Veal cheeks, entrecot and kebab are absolutely a must try!

This is how the pintxos are supposed to be, simple, beautiful, delicious, full of great flavours and nicely priced. All of it will go really well with the local cider (1€ a glass) or the local white wine. Take some time to enjoy the atmosphere and the great food. Go in early before it gets too busy.

Borda Berri has amazing pintxos. Hands down. Every dish is unbelievably tender and fork-able. No need for a knife or hard chewing. I started with the tender veal cheek and cod and each one was cooked to perfection. I also ended up getting the artichoke and pigs ear after watching other people order those dishes because the smell was so awesome. What’s crazy is that the front of house staff just shout orders to the kitchen and somehow everything keeps coming out correctly. Make sure to get in early so you don’t have to battle your way to the bar later when the crowds arrive. Though, even if you have to, the struggle is well worth it 🚀👾

Our big highlight of this trip! We’ve tried it 3 years ago and loved it. Came back today and still our favorite place! Absolutely everything is exquisite. The risotto, the kebab, the ravioli, the artichoke… we had our best meal in San Sebastián. We were lucky enough to have the octopus … just to die for. If you’re tired of the same greasy tapas, you MUST MUST try this little gem. Thank you! We just had time for one photo… we devoured everything as soon as it arrived. Hehehe

One of recommended pintxos bars in Donostia. Very tasty food. Risotto of Idiazabal cheese is a must! Taste also kebab of pork ribs. Have local Txakoli wine to complete your Basque experience. Can be crowded but it’s worth it. (Tip: Be punctual at 7:30 to find a slot)

My wife and I spent a month is Donostia, or San Sebastián, and did our fair share of Pintxo crawling. Borda Berri was among the top spots we visited! The place is filled with character—bartenders shout out the orders to the kitchen crew as they pour glasses of cider, the bottles suspended several feet above the glasses to add bubbles to the drinks. We arrived as soon as it opened on a recent evening, and it quickly filled. We had a grilled tomato pintxo stuffed with mozzarella cheese and smothered with olive oil and ground pistachios. It was an excellent mix of textures and tased wonderful! We also tried the rib kabob pintxo, which was cooked perfectly and so tender that it broke apart as we stuck our forks into the meat. Located among the dozens of pintxo restaurants in the city’s historic parte vieja, Borda Berri is a spot you do not want to miss.

Fantastic ambience - am genuinely very impressed by the staff's ability to multitask and remember orders. Get in early because this place will fill up real quick. That being said, I only waited 20 minutes the second time I went (that's right - I went twice within 2 days!!!) There is an English menu so if you want to know what you're ordering - definitely ask for it. 5/5 Worth it - notable dishes include the tuna, pork ribs risotto, veal cheeks and the chocolate ganache. Photos attached with review. Enjoy!

An absolute must for meatlovers when visiting San Sebastián. The best ribs and entrecote you can get in the pinchos district. Be ready for a crowded bar and busy but fair staff, especially just before closing time. Definitely worth it. Enjoy!!!

absolutely amazing, unique food. tried the ravioli, the risotto, and the pig ear. they were all delicious and a nice change of pace from a lot of the usual stuff you see in the area. we got there right before they opened to secure a place at the bar; it filled up quickly afterwards. I wish I could've tried the entire menu; I'll make sure to come back next time I'm in town.

Great food in an informal setting. Fight through the crowds, find a place to perch and confidently shout out your orders to the frantically busy staff. Dont worry, the staff seem quite cold and angry, but they are brutally efficiently and care about what they serve. A real highlight. The hake and braised beef were the stand out dishes!

Great little tapas place. The small plates cost around 4-5 euros each. You order off the blackboard and they put them together fresh for you. It's a nice change from the typical pintxos bars in the old town. I really liked the cheesy risotto. There was one dish I really did not like, which was an un-seared part of the cod fish served with a glutinous sauce. We probably would not have chosen this of we'd had better Spanish (we knew it was cod but not what part). We had a decent glass of white wine at a very reasonable price.

Definitely recommend this place in San Sebastian, the food is superb, my personal favorite is the goat cheese risotto. The beef cheek was very soft and just melts away a must try for meat lovers out there. The ravioli was very good along with the Kebab (grilled beef?)

  • 5/5 Miss C. 6 years ago on Google
Delicious tapas! Each dish was super delectable and unique. The flavor was distinct and tasty. Rather than the tapas you see on bread with jamon or salmon, there is a chef cooking up these tapas. The veal cheeks for example came off like it has been cooked for 6 hours which did cook for 6 hours. And the cod came out soft and tender with a touch of salt that brought out the flavors. This is quite nice compared to other tapas where it was pretty much bread and something stuffed inside, not a lot of chef mastery at work. Try it out!

One of my favourites. The food is consistently good. Must try the carrillera, oreja and risotto. Magret was also very nice. Perfect portions to try a bit of everything. Short wait for a table but it is definitely worth it. We ordered at the bar but the wait staff do come around and take orders too. They are extremely busy but food comes out quickly and correctly. Amazing!

This and bar Nestor are the two gems of San Sebastian. Unbelievable food and service. Although everything is good, I would order the pigs ear, veal cheeks, risotto and duck as a first timer. Sensational.

The staff were incredibly rude, I entered the restaurant asking for the menu but I was ignored after making eye contact with the women taking the orders, who then turned and took orders from the locals till there wasn't any left and she had to look at me. Food was fine but nothing amazing, especially compared to the restaurant Bar Sport just 30 seconds away with exceptional food and very nice staff.

Delicious pintxos and the price is more than fair for what you get. I had the fish of the day, the risotto and the „kebap“ and everything was super delicious.

  • 5/5 Kim S. 6 months ago on Google
Recommend arriving here about 10 minutes before it opens - they open the doors early so you can beat the rush, place your order and grab a spot. We had the risotto Idiazabal, "kebab" pork rib and Pig's ear. The risotto was my favourite dish but the kebab was also fantastic. I wasn't a fan of the Pig's ear but that's simply personal preference!

Everything is amazing in this informal bar. Grab yourself a spot (mostly standing) and let your mouth water when the the dishes are thrust at you by the impressive staff. Quite how they remember you in the mass of the crowd and ensure your food is delivered to you hot from the oven is testament to how this delightful bar operates. I'd return every day if I could. Try the artichokes if you are lucky enough to catch the limited number (when in season of course), the pigs ears and, of course, the risotto (where 1 plate is never enough!).

  • 5/5 Pol Picas C. 5 years ago on Google
Probably the best ponchos i’ve had so far this days in Donosti. The pork ear was really good, two textures, nice flavour! The kebab was interesting, also well defined the two textures, so tender in the center, almost creamy and really crispy outside. I’ve liked this bar, maybe it’s a bit lousy bit it goes with the style I guess.
