It's very delicious there. We had dinner there in the restaurant, we took different meats, which just melted in our mouths, the fried peppers are delicious. We had very friendly and attentive waiters. The location is great. I recommend.

Same price as others tapas bar, but this is more a tapas restaurant, cozy, warm light, chill out music, the tapas and paellas are great. I do recommend it

Delicious selection of pinxtos, and the staff is very efficient and helpful - sometimes during busy times there may be a queue but you are not waiting long as the staff makes sure to keep turnover quick. Its not a place to linger but great for having a quick bite with a ice cold sangria and heading over to the next pinxto bar.

What a difference 2 years makes! The round dish is what we were served in 2021, this year we were served with the square dish. The meat this year was very good, unfortunately we can’t say the same for the rest.

The selection of pintxos may not be as wide as some of the more famous places around but the atmosphere and service much better. Food was very good

Absolutely love the service here. We had dietary requirements and the staff is so kind to make adjustment for us. Visited 3 times during 2 days stay. Food is great too!!!

We had an amazing meal here. Pintxos and a glass of wine turned into dinner and a bottle of wine and a fabulous dessert wine from Malaga.

We had a worst Paella ever today. Very dry and expensive for this what we got! The service was the best!

A bit more expensive Pintxos than other places (about 3€/pintxo for the cold pintxos) but quite beautiful and tasty with a pretty good selection of warm pintxos :-)

If you like this review give it a 👍 Restaurant: Nice place close to the old fisher Harbor in the old part of town. Nice assortiment of tasteful and we'll prepared Pinxtos. The also have a restaurant menu with more "dinner like" food. We had the menu of €36 p.p. Food: good quality, well prepared and tasteful. Service: Although it was very busy they found sufficient time to pay sufficient attention to us and the drinks and food was served quickly. They were very friendly! Overall: can recommend this place if you go out for a drink and some pinxtos or dinner.

Average food, with a bit higher prices per tapas. The food came quickly, but the bread was stall and not tasty. Be carefull about Paella, the price is too high for this meal +40€ for a bowl of rice with seafood is unacceptable.

Very lively, very good (do try the presa de ibérico and the carrillera de ternero al vino), fast service at the counter.

Their menu comes in 4 languages- spanish, basque, english and french. Very good service, pinxtos and paella. Paella was available when we were there but recommended to reserve beforehand.

The starters were amazing . I ordered the one with chorizo and it’s the best chorizo I ever had !! Main dish portion was too huge and the taste was okayish! And amazing cheese cake n loved it consistency ! Maybe stick to tapas and dessert :) The waiter from Ecuador was really sweet and funny ! They even offered to let us try their local alcohol: patxarana. Loved the restaurant:)

Among all other places that are so crowded and unpleasant, this place has good service and is organised. We were sitted almost immediately. Pintxos were really good. So, a good option among all tourists traps around

Tourist trap - Terrible Experience at Meson Portaletas I recently had lunch at Restaurant Portaletas and had an extremely disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. My friends and I ordered the black rice paella, hoping to enjoy a delicious meal, but what we received was far from satisfactory. First and foremost, the black rice paella was undercooked, dry, served in a silver square tray which was placed in the oven and lacked flavour, nothing as you’d expect from a paella. It was a complete letdown in terms of taste and texture. We paid - 54€ for this absolute rubbish! What made matters worse was the service we received. Our waiter, whose name we were denied, acting as responsible for the restaurant, was incredibly rude and unhelpful when we expressed our dissatisfaction with the meal. Despite our polite request for a refund or a replacement dish, he adamantly refused and even questioned our taste preferences. We asked for a replacement that would cover the value we paid and he refused to serve us anything else, bringing back the rice already cold from the kitchen. We were totally robed as we left without our food and without a refund. Such a negative encounter with a restaurant's staff is not something I expected, nor is it something I am willing to tolerate. Customer service should be a priority for any establishment, and Meson Portaletas clearly fell short in this regard. I hope that by sharing my experience, others can be spared from a similarly disappointing visit St Sebastian. I believe it's crucial for restaurants to maintain high standards in both their food quality and customer service, and my recent experience sadly highlights the failure to do so at this establishment.

We were shown to a bare table and ignored for 10 minutes even though the restaurant was fairly quiet. We eventually asked for a menu and they then set the table. We ordered a "paella of sea and mountain". When it came we were very disappointed. It consisted of a thin layer of yellow rice which had obviously been cooked earlier and then reheated in an oven, making it dry and hard on the top. The "sea" consisted of two prawns each and the "mountain" one small piece of beef cheek. The rice had no flavour at all. It was a complete rip off at the price of 75 Euros. Do not order paella here. It is the worst I have ever tasted.

Excellent end to a rainy day. Food was wonderful. Great selection of drinks. And to top it all, we were being served by Ely, who was so warm, welcoming and friendly. We ordered squid, beef cheek, hamburger and a kids menu of chicken and fries. Ended it with cheesecake and rice pudding. All of it was super tasty. Ely's friendly smile made us totally overstay and over eat 🤣 .. thank you so much for a memorable dinner 💓

Absolutely amazing pintxos and beef, really one of the best I’ve ever had. Prices are very fair for what you’re getting, especially the Txistorra is heavenly. Staff is great and super helpful too. Call ahead and reserve, even if it’s only a few hours in advance - saved us from a very long wait.

Having had a bad experience just up the road I was reluctant to have pintos again..... But they were excellent here. Water was friendly despite having been very busy. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Wort a visit.

Quick stop but everything we ordered (pintxos of pork, beef cheek, croquettes, risotto, gambas, txoriso and duck magret) was great.

It's hard to pic a tapas restaurant in San Sebastian; but after trying almost everything there I can strongly recommend this place. The variety and service are great, the taste is amazing, and the prices are fair.

Great selection of hot and cold pintxos. The lady behind the bar is super friendly. You will be assigned a table number. Just give the number at the bar, order your food and off you go. Cold pintxos will be handed to you on a plate, hot ones will be brought from the kitchen to your table.

Seafood paella and monkfish was really good and the dinner menu starting at 7:30pm. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find/didn’t have an allergy menu.
