We were initially assigned a room that was a lot smaller than the one we had reserved and payed for, apparently because of an error in the reservation system. No immediate solution was offered as we were told no other rooms were available. No compensation was offered either. Eventually, after the first 2 nights, we were moved to a much larger and nicer room, corresponding to what we had reserved. All other aspects of this hotel were impeccable (location and cleaniness are both excellent). Unfortunately having to spend half of out stay in a very small room significantly impacted our overall impression.

I had to cancel my reservation a couple of days before due to sudden serious family illness. The hotel were completely inflexible in offering change of date even though they would have been able to resell the room (there were no vacancies for the date booked when I checked). This is the first time I have ever come across such inflexibility, there really should be a little more empathy. I would certainly not use this hotel or chain again.

The Location of this hotel is excellent! Breakfast is simple but effective. The person in charge of breakfast is very helpful and happy to accommodate. They only have 1 cot and high chair for babies, so make sure you book this in advance to make sure they can provide. The people working here are all friendly, helpful and also speak English. It’s a beautiful building and have tasteful decor. They don’t have a restaurant in the hotel but plenty of restaurants to pick from outside. Super close to everywhere. Parking is an issue as they don’t provide free or discounted parking and the public parking nearby is extortionate.

I had a wonderful stay in this hotel, with an incredible location. Thanks to all staff Imanol, David, Iñaki and more. I will be back soon!

Lovely room, very modern, spacious and clean. Bed is very comfortable. Great location, very central. All the staff are so helpful and friendly. My main negative would be that the rooms are quite susceptible to noise from both inside (other rooms) and outside (street) the hotel. We only ate in the hotel once, for breakfast, and it wasn’t great. I would definitely stay here again.

We spent two night in this very centrally located hotel. It is near everything yet away of the hussle. Only 10 mins from the bus station, 10 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from the old town. We had great stylish room on the Cathedral side with french balconies. The bed was good to sleep! Even if the Cathedral did ring its bells regularly it did not disturb our sleep. The voice insulation of the door is not good as was expected in an old building like this. So bring your earplugs if you are easily awoken. The breakfast buffet is worth the money! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is wonderful. The location is perfect. The staff was AMAZING! I unfortunately arrived in San Sebastian ill. Elisabet took very good care of us. When we needed to stay longer than expected, every staff member was very eager to help us. We really appreciated it! If we ever find ourselves back in San Sebastain, we will stay here for sure. Thank you all for taking good care of us!

We didn't stay the night, but walked in for the 12eu (weekday deal) breakfast buffet. Delicious! Great service! Nice variety: pastries, breads, fruit, yogurt, muesli, cheeses, porridge, your choice of eggs/bacon/omelette, coffees, teas, hot chocolate, fresh squeezed orange juice. We definitely recommend!!

We stayed in one of the attic rooms. Super clean room and bathroom, great front desk and cleaning service and very good breakfast. Great location too! Convenient to walk into the old town and the other side of the river. Also quiet enough in the evenings. Highly recommend

This is the prettiest hotel I've ever stayed in, truly unique. Rooms are small, yes, but all is clean and quiet plus the shower room is a great size and lighting was perfect. Bed was a bit too firm for my liking but overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Concierges were very welcoming and friendly which was appreciated as they warmly greeted me every time I'd walk in and out of the hotel. Location is perfect and the surroundings and views are lovely. If I'm ever in Donostia again, no doubt I will be booking a room here at Villa Katalina.

This hotel is a gem in San Sebastian! The rooms are clean and comfortable and even if there is no dedicated parking, San Martin public parking is basically just below the hotel. All the staff from front desk,to maid,to breakfast attendant are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast food is delicious and fresh and I definitely will come back!

Absolutely loved our stay, clean room and beautiful view. Staff is friendly and helpful. A bit on a pricy side but worth it.

Rooms are very unique a little small we are a family of three two adults and a little one se the beds are not that big did asked for a extra bed but it could not be arranged besides that the staff has been great I think there more of a lack of tools for them from there higher management as this local staff has done a great job so far. (FYI this is the first hotel that I do not recommend the highest floor if you are more then two, lower floor are better suited for families.)

This is a great boutique hotel. The rooms are slightly small but overall we were very happy with our stay here. Just wish they had a bar/restaurant that was open all day.

Breakfast service slow and unorganised. No automatic replacement of food when it ran out. Only one server who was a little overwhelmed as he was also making each individual coffee as no self service coffee maker. This hotel is centrally located and the beds are very comfortable. It can be a little loud but we closed our windows and didn’t wake up the whole night. The view from our room was absolutely amazing! The bathroom had nice lights, perfect for makeup too :)

We stayed 6/4 - 6/10/2022 and really enjoyed our visit. The location was fantastic. The staff could not have been more helpful except for not telling us to get a reservation for Rua when we probably needed one (according to Rua). Our room was on the 5th floor with only a skylight window (so no real view). I wish I had known that there was a hair dryer in the bathroom. Being from the US, I do not understand how 2 twin beds pushed together equate to a single double bed unless double sheets are used to hold them together, but that's what they call it. I would certainly stay here again but would want a room with a view. The bathrooms feature very nice lighting, showers, and toilets with built-in bidets.
