Amazing views. Pristine beaches and good hikes...what else you need after spending so much time in the sun on the beach of San Vito lo Capo. Please bring water with you! There is no place to buy water inside the reserve and you will have a lot to walk! But what a beautiful walk tho! Totally worth the hike! Also bring shoes! Get to all the beautiful beaches! There is a lot of wildlife(lizards, birds and fish) and the flora is full of small palm trees and diverse plants. If you go early enough you will have the beaches just for you!!!

Beautiful natural reserve with different difficulty trails. The entrance to the park is 5€ per person. We chose the easy trail along the coast with breathtaking views, museums, caves, and beaches on the way. The beaches are very clean and rocky, the water was quite cold at this time of the year (mid-May) but we managed to swim. There are a few points with drinking water but no food (just one place selling fresh fruit) so make sure you pack enough water and snacks. The whole easy trail is around 6km to the other park entrance, which means if you leave your car at one entrance you need to plan the way back too so a total of around 12km. This was definitely a highlight of our vacation in Sicily, don't miss this place! 💚

Riserva naturale dello zingaro was the first natural reserve set up in Sicily in May 1981, located almost completely in the municipal territory of San Vito Lo Capo. It stretches along some seven kilometers of unspoilt coastline of the Gulf of Castellammare and its mountain chain, the setting of steep cliffs and little bays. The Zingaro Reserve has a large variety and abundance of rare and endemic plants, as well as a rich fauna. The highly varied ecological niches give a great diversity which is not easily found in others parts of the island. In the Zingaro Reserve at least 39 species of birds nest and mate, mainly birds of prey, including the peregrine falcon, the common kestrel and the common buzzard. The area has also a rich archaeological past; for example the spectacular Grotta dell'Uzzo was one of the first prehistoric settlements in Sicily. The reserve has a complex network of paths, shelters, water taps, picnic areas, museums, carpark, and other amenities; there are no roads and it can only be visited on foot. The Zingaro Reserve incorporates not only the land and beaches, but also the adjacent sea. The beautiful beaches, pebbled and lapped by the clear blue sea, can be reached along various rather steep paths.

If you like hiking and the sea, that’s your place to go. It’s just beautiful to walk alongside the water, discover the bays and enjoy the views. Pro tips: bring swim shoes because of the rocky and slippery beaches, sunscreen and head protection as well as lots of water as you can only fill or buy a bottle at the entrance. There were people in flip flops, that’s dangerous to my mind. Also come early or when the sun isn’t too high anymore if you’re visiting in the summer months. At the beginning of the reserve is a picknick area, you could start with some food there, enjoy the view and then be ready for a hike if your preferred length. We made it to the 3rd bay and back, which should be round about 6-7km. But you can go way further.

How anyone can give this Nature Reserve a score below 5 stars blows the mind. The trails at Zingaro rival and some might say exceed the Kalaulau Trail in Kauai, Hawaii, which is often mentioned as one of the most beautiful trails in the world. The views at Zingaro are among the most beautiful you will find, the hikes are challenging and the access to 5 secluded beaches is exceptional. Zingaro Nature Reserve is a must do in my opinion, the highlight of our amazing family trip to the beautiful island of Sicily. PS: 1) bring lots of water and fruit… once inside the park there is no where to purchase these items. 2) Wear hiking shoes or strong sneakers because some of the trails are rocky in places. 3) Bring a towel if you plan to swim which is the perfect complement to getting a good workout hiking… the beaches are amazing! And 4) park closes at 7 pm.

Wonderful, I highly recommend it. I would recommend avoiding peak sunshine hours if doing it in the summer, bringing a befree (there are some taps along the way with non drinkable water), good shoes for the walk and flip-flops for the pebble beaches. Reserve it a full day in your schedule. Enjoy!

So worth visiting! A long walk, but you stop at the different beaches along the way, there are seven. We left earlier in the morning around 8:30 am and stopped first at the very middle beach which was great for cliff jumping. Then we walked down to the very end beach which was just beautiful and not too crowded, didn’t really want to leave this beach but then started to walk back. Stopped at the second last beach which was equally as beautiful, a little bit smaller so it was a bit more packed with people. Then we walked all the way back to the start and went to the very first beach to finish off and cool down before we left. Parking was easy. We did have to pay €4, and there was an entry fee. But definitely worth it for the day. The walk wasn’t too hard, some ups and downs, but relatively flat, I’d love to go back again one-day.

They don’t allow beach umbrellas “because of COVID” and tell you at the cash register right before entering, so you leave it there with a pile of others and when we came out ours had been stolen. Way too crowded, people putting their towels touching others, maybe setting up a capacity limit is a better measure against COVID?

One of the most beautiful hikes you can do in Sicilia! You can walk 7km along the coastline with the most amazing view throughout the whole hike. Proper shoes and a beach towel are a must. You can spend a whole day visiting the small hidden beaches with crystal clear water.

Beautiful piece of nature - great for snorkeling and for jumps from cliff. Beware that it's not really suitable for families with small kids as the path to the beach is demanding and there's no way to use baby carriage. Try to avoid in August, especially on weekends as the place tends to be overcrowded and you'll have a hard time to find a spot on the beach to put even just you bag.

Great location to combine an easy ( not that easy but definitely doable hike) with a beach day. There are various options to do round trips where you can then combine the easy trip with a more advanced trip. Overall, it's a beautiful hike along the coast with various options of having a swim at rather stony beaches. Never come here with flip flips, even if you only want to go swimming as you have to walk for a while and the path is stony and with loose sand. Entrance to the national park is 5 euro which you can pay by card. Don't bring sun umbrellas as they are not allowed. There are various parking sports close by.

Absolutely stunning place! We entered at the South Gate around 8:30 am and were able to easily find free parking. There were paid lots for when this filled up. It’s 7km to the other side, but we stopped and enjoyed the first beach we found and it was wonderful! There isn’t anywhere to buy food or water inside the reserve, so make sure you bring it with you.

This is by far the most beautiful experience i had in sicily. Etna views and reserve views are sharing nr1 spot when it comes to beauty relaxing and good mood creation. Good place to visit and revisit. Tip: have a good pair of hiking shoes/sneakers. Flip flops are forbidden :D.. Private beaches there are 10/10 beautiful

Magnificent place, worth to stay a whole day pond at the end enjoying the sunset. There's parking lots all around. We found one, where we payed 10 Eur per person whole day stay, parking, sunbathing places und direct entrance to the Bay. If you want to use some shower, it is for an extra fee.

take some more water since the full walk is about 7km one way (the easy green path). You have a medium or a difficult way, as well. Awesome views over the sea.. loved it. Its totally worth spending an afternoon. Adult fee is 5 eur, kids enter for free.

Nice walk with good view on the coast line, beaches are of course quite crowded as they are small. Entrance: 5 EUR per person Bring your own food and drinks as there are no possibilities to buy something

Take good hike shoes for this one! Small pebbles are annoying (and flip flops are not allowed, they will not let you in). Amazing views, go all the way to Urzzo.

Fantastic hike with beautiful beaches. We came during low season (October) and there were not many cars when we arrived around 9.30, but when we left in the afternoon there were a lot of cars. The hike is fine, but there is some up and down and it's good to bring suitable shoes. Not much protection from the sun.

Absolutely beautiful & not a place to be missed when in Sicily! Entry €5 and parking is free. I advise you to arrive in the morning maybe 9am max because the parking can get full fast & you may not be able to get a spot. We had to park down the road and payed €9 for parking. The reserve is absolutely beautiful and we arrived at the first beach on the trail and it was the most beautiful beach we have went to in Sicily so far.

Enchanting place, you don’t see often such nature marvels. It’s a 5 km/ 3 miles long coast with several little bays and clear water. There are more paths to walk into the reserve, but all by foot and on rough terrain, hence the need for a pair of suitable shoes ( I shattered my sneakers). You can enter the park either by north, if you come from S. Vito Lo Capo, and you will be no more than 1 km far from Cala Dell’Uzzo beach, the best one IMHO. If you drive from the airport, you will exit the highway at Castellammare del Golfo. BTW, there is no other mean of travel than the car, so, if you don’t have one, rent it; don’t expect any train service. I don’t know about dedicated bus services. The park has some parking lots, but, when I went on Sunday, they went full. There are more parking areas run by locals just outside the entrance. The last, but most important advices: this is a not a place for lazy bones, take it more as a hike than a day at the beach. Water, sunscreen and hats are mission-essentials.

A wonderful spot to hike and relax! Try the free parking space in front of the entrance first instead of paying for others. And take enough water with you, and a bag for trash!

Amazing place. We did the 7km to go and 7km to come back. Beautiful landscapes and the sea is amazing for swiming. I recommend going very early to see the places empty and peaceful. The main problem is the boats honking around and with loudly music (annoying people)

A must see! My favorite part of the trip, a great hike and a great way to see things you can’t from a car. Go early to beat the heat and pack a lunch to spend the day and some of the most beautiful beaches.

I strongly advice anyone if you arrive in Sicily then any trip should involve exploring the Reserva natural do Zíngaro. A beautiful place, romantic, perfect for those who love the nature, the silence and the sea. Lo Zingaro stretches along the north-west coast of Sicily, and it can only be accessed via one of two entrances: the south entrance and the north entrance. Entry to Lo Zingaro is €5 per person, €3 for children aged 11-14, and free if under 11. You purchase your ticket from the small cabin at either entrance. Card is accepted, but we'd 100% recommend bringing enough cash for entries, snacks, and anything else you may need in the day. Parking for the whole day is included in the entry price.

We visited Zigaro on Sunday and it was not that busy. Beautiful scenery and fairly easy hike. We did it with children and me being 8 months pregnant, it took us 3h one way. Total 15km. So worth it, probably my favourite day from the whole holiday. Take plenty of water and snacks with you. Toilets only at the beginning and end. Make sure you stop at the beaches. Highly recommend!☀️

A must if you are in the area. This beautiful and vast natural reserve offers different trails. We took the cost trail offering access to small beaches. You'll get a map with the entrance fee of 5 EUR p.p. and signs will help you to understand where you are. It will take you approx. 2h on that route from this entrance to the west entrance (and you'll have to walk back if you left your car at one end). Make sure to pack plenty of water and some food. Nature and the costal landscape is simply beautiful.

Very impressive landscape, but hard to find the entrance and pay lot for the parking (7Euro). The first beach is app. 20 minutes away (you need closed shoes) and only sunny in the morning (we were in the first week of November there) The water is really amazing, there are lot of small fishes...

  • 5/5 Ruth 1 year ago on Google
Ticket only 5€. Distance about 7km (to one side). After 3,5km there are the beach. Need to enter with good shoes (they did not let you inside with flip-flops). Very nice view 👍🏽 I recommend it.

Utterly beautiful place. Breathtaking views. Great beaches. Must see. You can park close to the entrance. The tickets cost 5 euros, children under 10 is free. There is no toilet near. Comfortable shoes and plenty of water and snacks are recommended.

Wonderful riserva naturale with anazing views. Use good shoes to explore the walking trails. You will find fantastic flowers, trees and cactus in the parc. And the views are breathtaking. I strongly recommend this place and rate it with 5 stars.

At 9am in the end of July it is busy already. Beautiful small beach with clear water and rocks to play with. 20min walk from the parking. Almost no shadow to hide. Quite some boats passing and pausing in this bay.

Great walk, views , beaches. Totally worth the 5€ entrance fee. We went from the north side up to Cala Disa beach (3,5km out of total 7km from north to south). There is only one place at the beginning to buy water or food (they have good Arancini) so don't forget to bring your supplies.

Beautiful trail for tracking as well as a couple of pretty lagoons perfect for diving and swimming. The water is usually very clear but the lagoons in holiday time are crowded. Be aware of steep trails to reach
