We enjoyed our stay at Fujitaya BnB while we were visiting Kyoto. The owners and the staff were super nice to deal with. Location was good with bus stops close by to go to most of the attractions on the other side of the city. There are several supermarkets and convenient stores close by with good selection of food you can buy. Breakfast was simple but ample. Bathrooms and hot tub were nice and clean. Cleanliness was superb. We would stay here again when we visit Kyoto next time.

We loved everything! Very kind people running their BnB with much love. They are helpful and want to give you all their time and energy. You are allowed to use the kitchen en fridge. Everything is clean, looks new and is being maintained with a big smile. Very generous big rooms, with comfortable bids. The showers and sinks are extremely clean and look good. We enjoined every single minute we spend at Fujitaya BnB, if we visit kyoto ever again, we would 100% return one day if we were to visit Japan again.

I loved my stay at FUJITAYA. This is one of the best hostels I've staid in Japan. The place is modern and sparkling clean. It may not be in city centre, but it's easily accessible by public transport and there are bikes available for rent. And on bike is the best way to explore Kyoto as it turns out! The people are very friendly and willing to help you in planning your visit to Kyoto. They have good tips and also organise some trips or activities indoors.

The woman is so nice and helpful! She gave us great advice and always greeted us with a nice smile. Thank you :) There is no breakfast so not sure why it's called B&B. Also not yoga, unless arranged in advance 3+ people are interested. Bikes, laundry and bath also not free like other places we stayed before. Bikes are about 1000yen for normal (got a small one for this price as normal was not available) and 1800yen for the road one. The common area is nice for kids but not sure if it's easy to work from there. Spotless clean common area, toilet and showers !

I stayed in Nov 2019 with my family. The Japanese style hostel is well located, with bus stop nearby, surrounded by restaurants and convenience stores. Shower and toilet are plenty, so we don't have to wait long. The community area space and kitchen are also well maintained. Other extras included paid and complimentary activities, bike rental & private bathtub. The best thing is that the staffs are very friendly and attentive. Speaks good English so no problem in communication. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights in Fujitaya BnB

We have a happy stay at Fujitaya Bnb. Our best host during the stay at Fujitaya BnB ,Kyoto are friendly & helpful. There are many guests from different countries. Nice meeting each others and making own breakfast together in the morning. The Bnb is well-managed, share facilities are clean. đź‘Ť You can do the laundry. Transport : It is 800m away from the nearest train station -Umeikoji. But I think it's just fine. Bus stop is just nearby. Eateries are nearby. Can check with the host for good food around and places to travel. Recommended !

It’s a cozy place and people who visit Fujitaya are amazing as well. Great location. Walking distance to the railway station. The lanes are filled with good cafes and other stores. Its quiet although it’s very near to the main road. All in all it’s a place for you to keep as a base when you explore Kyoto :) I’ve added photographs of the street we would walk right after you get out of fujitaya. There is a Family mart right around the corner! And bus stops as well.

We stopped here for 2 nights enroute cycling towards Biwa and Alps. We had the first floor room (futon with shared toilet and shower which we had to ourselves), presumably cause rest of guest didnt have bikes and was placed on 1st floor..Our bikes were parked indoor and on the wall rack. Rented mamasan, cross bike android bikes (shimano pedal setup) were available for rent. Staff spoke good english. Laundry is available with extra fee. Breakfast is also part fo price which includes a self prepared cereal, bread or toast, fruits (first come first serve). They even had a coffee maker for guest use. Very clean, quiet, decent location and with Familty Mart just a minute walk away. Two public onsen also within walking distance. Would revisit in future trips.

Very enjoyable stay. It was quiet after 10 pm, the host were really kind and friendly. The room was perfect for 2 people. Close to the bus station and from 2 big avenues with convenience store just around the corner. We used the wash machine and the host explained how to use it. We loved stayed here!! Thank you so much!

It si the perfect place to get Japanese custom’s experience with locals and guests. We meet with other visitors at night and we share experiences. The owner took us to temple tour for the new year 2024. Great experience. No value for that.

We stayed for a week and we had the best stay thanks to the hosts ! The bedroom was a mix of modern and traditionnal furnitures, very comfy and great to discover the futon. Following advices of our hosts, we fully enjoyed Kyoto and the nearby restaurants. The kitchen is open on the dining room and you can meet the other guest, play some games or discuss the day. Last but not least, the hosts ! They are kind and caring and a real wonder. They make you feel welcome and like you're part of the family. Our best thanks, will definitly come again !!

Lovely little BNB. Traditional tatami flooring and comfortable futon. Great service by Masa and his family. They even helped me find a great wagyu steak restaurant and book a reservation.

We really enjoyed our stay. The whole place is beautifully designed and has a modern japanese style. Everything was clean and experiencing family life with Saki, Masa and their two boys was so much unexpected fun. We even got a free room upgrade when we arrived and had a lot of nice talks with the owners. If you love interactions with others while traveling, this is the best place in Kyoto!

Amazing place to stay in Kyoto. It’s a guest house where you share kitchen and bathrooms and you have your own room. You sleep on very comfortable futons. Staff and people in the house are super friendly and helpful, everybody brings so much positive energy in the house it makes your stay so enjoyable. The place also rent bikes which is super convenient because in Kyoto there isn’t much transportation like other big cities so bikes is a premium choice to visit Kyoto. Absolutely recommend this place, which is very money valuable.

The host, Masa, and his wife are very kind and accommodating people. They have created an extremely comfortable, clean, relaxed, family atmosphere at their hostel. After 2 months of travel all across Japan, this was definitely my favourite place I have stayed.

Very nice and clean place and welcoming staff. The place is located close to the bus stop or 30 minutes walking from the train station. Laundry service and bike rental are available on site. Really recommended!

Place is really clean and they care about the interior, but a bit far from the city and all the sights. Also the WiFi was pretty bad/ nonexistent in the rooms. They rent bikes for 500 yen/day, which is perfect since Kyoto is very flat.. The bamboo forest takes you about one hour by bike and half an hour to the city center. It takes you much longer by public transport.

Nice place. But had a massive misinformation by the Reservation platform. Paid online for US$140 and had to add another US$300 since the information in the reservation apps did not display the true payment. Between both Hotels.com and Vrbo apps. I keyed in right number of persons, but it was not accepted by the Owner-Manager. Since it is non-refundable and we cannot cancel the reservation. I am OK if the true payment is displayed so I can make an educated estimation how much I will pay. Initially, I wanted to pay via the apps platform and Vrbo said no further payment is required. And that is when my nightmare started. I have three complaints to the Owner-Manager of Fujitaya BnB: 1. Please sort out your apps with Hotels.com and Vrbo on rates for rooms. Show the true price. So customers will not be conned or cheated by having to add payments cash. 2. Please treat your guests with respect and honesty. By not tricking to make reservations and then having to pay additional rates. Let guests make decisions based on the true price given. 3. It is unfortunate that my experience in Kyoto is tainted by this incident. I hope future customers will take this into consideration, I am sure the place is excellent, but this ugly Covid-19 pandemic has shown the ugly side of Nippon hospitality and accommodation. Best of luck.
