Dreadful under staffed but still taking bookings. Stayed at the Premier inn, booked a table for 19:30 arrived at the restaurant (questionable!!)at 19:25 and TOLD to go to the bar for a drink and our table would be available when we arrived back. On arrival back at the shed our table had been taken, great night thanks . Just eat provided a better service and cheaper . You’ve had your day Beefeater.

Where do I start? Came here for a roast, arrived and was told there was no chicken, but everything else. Asked again when we sat down and was told the same thing and was assured that there was roast beef, so I thought great I love roast beef. Ordered drinks which took 15 mins to arrive, we ordered our food which was then told that there was no beef, if we were told this at the start we wouldn’t have sat down. Ordered some onion rings and halloumi fries which was sat on the hot plate for a good 10 mins until the waiter finally decided to bring them which was cold, we told the waiter and he said he would get them freshly made and the same thing happened again, also without our food. We waited45 mins for our food to arrive, which is a long time considering the restaurant wasn’t busy. The food was cold, vegetables were cold, gravy watery, potatoes looked like they had been dehydrated and sat out for days, and reheated over and over. Yorkshire pudding was stale, hard and crispy. The steak was lukewarm and bland, no flavour whatsoever. I look over to the kitchen and the chef is there on his phone. No one approached to ask us if everything was ok or if we needed anything. Appalling service, appalling food, definitely will not be returning. I’m surprised it hasn’t been shut down.

I ordered the surf and turf combo and my husband had the BBQ chicken and ribs. My meal, the surf and turf was terribly disappointing. The steak was dry and pretty tasteless. The 2 shrimp I got, the skin was burnt onto the shrimp itself and it was a chore to separate it, along with it also being tasteless. I'll be honest, this was my first time having scallops but I'm pretty sure they were also bland. The only thing from my plate I really enjoyed was the 5 pieces of calamari I got. My husband's meal was better than mine. The chicken was moist and seasoned. The ribs were also enjoyable. I'm glad at the very least he was content with his order. Upon entering our waitress was rushing us to order as her shift was ending so we didn't feel particularly welcomed. However another waiter took over for her and he was very friendly and polite to us which made our visit there a little better. Our visit there was just borderline okay. The food is a gamble either way but sadly I left there disappointed with the food. I probably won't patronise this establishment again.

We all know our expectations of a current day Beefeater, easy, not formal and kid friendly. We went to this place because we were looking for all of the above within walking distance. Food - as expected. Surprisingly enough I wouldn't recommend ordering steak at a beefeater. Our 3 year old had the spaghetti and loved every second of it. We just only wish we had ordered the same. I ordered a £20 ribeye with a prawn skewer. The steak was unevenly cut with one end being rare and the other well done. The skewer arrived several minutes after I had finished the rest of my meal. Service - yes there's a hospitality staffing issue. This place had a ton of staff, non of which seemed to have any idea what was going on. Now, this restaurant wasn't full by anymeans. From the guys behind the bar chatting away while drink orders were piling up to the try hard servers with the terrified and confused look in thier eyes. It seems that the main blame for the pretty much non existent service was down to the management. There was seemingly no training or supervision. As far as I am aware the manager was the one that cooked the late comer prawns. What I saw was a load of kids trying to do a good job but failing horrendously due to poor management. Joe, our server for most of our meal was attentive and well mannered but his hopes for giving us decent service were shut down by the breakdown of the idiots behind the bar and the poor line cook trying to keep up. Joe 5 stars Food 3 stars Management and bar 1 star.

Been here a few times, except the odd busy weekend night this is an amazing place to eat, and the food especially the cheesy fries are exceptional. The cocktails and mocktails here are well presented and taste delicious, would absolutely recommend trying.

Went for breakfast for my partners birthday and the staff could not be more disinterested if they tried. On arrival the women who greeted us was very rude. The cooked food was awful and left feeling rather sick, noone on the table enjoyed food and everyone ended up leaving almost all the food. Poached eggs were that over cooked they were green and went new ones were sent they arrived in a puddle of water. Tried to pay of 3 separate occasions just for the people to walk away aswell. Will not be returning.

Chicken was dry and not a lot of chicken pieces. You get severed chips but also a bake potato. There is too much potato and creates waste.

Staff and drinks fine, food very much below par, Full rack of ribs was dry like it came from out of the desert, lump of uninspiring "grilled dry" chicken came with it, "Steak Sampler" was just about cooked but cold, salad and veg there seems to be a shortage? To think the place was not even that busy. Bar staff took great care though, even when we changed tables, very organised and on the ball, but I think you really could use some better chefs!

First time here. Service was very slow despite not being very busy considering it was Saturday lunchtime. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Food could of been served alot hotter some of it was lukewarm but was tasty. Probably won't return anytime soon unless improvements are made.

Had lunch with friends yesterday, presentation of food and drinks, including service was very good, so was the food. However, I was really dismayed by the general lack of cleanliness of the premises. It was noticed that the carpets hadn't been cleaned esp in the toilets, nor had they been vacuumed in the restaurant area. We noted large chunks of food under our table on leaving and also in the service area floor. May I also add that it would be more conducive to clients returnin if entrance to the site was cared for and looked after. I sincerely hope that these areas can be remedied, as it is in the area I live in and I would like to return to lunch there again.

Visited at lunchtime, great service, welcoming and professional and very friendly, with a warming atmosphere. A good range of food options that are available to eat in the restaurant or bar area. Special mention to Helen for her cheery smile and friendly chat behind the bar

Absolutely terrible. Went for a family Sunday dinner. Thought it was strange when the place only had 2 other tables occupied, everyone else obviously knew better. Most of my meal was inedible. Couldn't get a fork in the parsnip as it was that dried out, brocoli was a shrivelled black stem, potatoes were stale. One roast dinner didn't even get parsnip, stuffing or brocoli, we had to ask for some vegetables. Meat was ok and service was pleasant. But would definitely not recommend.

Service was slow but this was due to staff shortage. Our waitress was lovely and did her best. Fish and chips was excellent and the prices are reasonable

Typical Beefeater/Premier inn place. Nice selection of simple and tasty meals that don't cost the earth. Staff are pleasant, quick, and efficient.

If your looking for a good value breakfast, this should be on your shortlist. For 10 pounds per adult (kids eat free), you can enjoy an "unlimited" cooked breakfast and unlimited continental items (pastries, cereal, crumpets / muffins / pancakes / toast and yoghurt). While the food isn't Michelin star, you cant fault the value and staff were very friendly and receptive to our needs (pistachio allergy). The company advertise an unlimited cooked breakfast but we were only asked once for an order and the breakfast items were itemised which meant you felt obliged to order a reasonable breakfast. I'm sure if you wanted more they could accommodate. Overall, I would recommend this place and will certainly go again.

A family lunch where we wanted a good menu selection and this was just right. Everything tasted good and the fish n chips won the day However service was slow because they need more staff the servers were lovely and helpful but couldn't keep up with everything. More staff for lunch service and another chef for desserts is really a needed.

Food that is great value and good on quality for the price. Decor is a little dated and well worn. They really could do with more staff on shift as this has a detrimental effect on service during busier times.

Had roast chicken yesterday and you couldn't cut the roast potatoes I had to break them and eat what was inside my partner had the same problem it was as if they were deep fried and stuck together. Will not be going back. I told the waitress to tell the chef to learn how to cook potatoes and she apologised.

To be honest, it was better than I expected. Google reviews for this place in the past had not been great so I expected the worst. Remember that this place plays towards the budget end of the market and is a bit formulaic (it is a Beefeater chain - what do you expect?) but the food was surprisingly good and the staff pleasant and attentive if a little bit slow at times.

Visited on 18th November 2021, First time here and I couldn’t fault it what so ever. Food was really lovely, I had a double cheeseburger and it was melt in your mouth. The two members of staff that was on duty in the restaurant were outstanding, polite, professional and so lovely. Would I go back? yes I would, if and when I’m in the area again.

Very accommodating to fit in a table of 12 on one of their busiest days of the year. Served by Raj who couldn't not have been more helpful, food was good and great value. You did a great job

Well when we checked in at the premier inn. We asked the staff member on reception if we should book a table and she said no. So we couldn't get a table until quite a bit later so we had to eat in the bar. I had the steak sampler meal. Well the steaks were OK I guess if a bit below proper serving temperature, but the rocket leaves on my plate were like soggy grass cuttings . I reported this to the staff member at the bar and all he said was sorry. No offer to do anything whatsoever. Beefeater used to be a chain where I expected and received good customer service. However this seems to be lacking here. This poor service continued for 3 out of 4 nights. Not impressed at all to be honest.

Couldn’t fault the food or waitress at all! Unfortunately you could tell they were understaffed as the waitress had to cover more than one section and the general manager on shift also had to cover in the kitchen at times. I’m NOT going to downgrade from a 5* to a 4* or less because given the circumstances, they done very well. I’m sure when they’re fully staffed etc service would be quicker!

5 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 9 Sept 2022 Had a meal out with my family, we was greeted by a lovely gentleman on the desk who was wonderful, he seated us to our table and organised our drinks straight away. Then Amy our wonderful waitress took great care of us the whole 2hrs we was there, all staff seemed happy and could do no more where, a wonderful atmosphere throughout the evening and absolutely wonderful food. Chefs are doing a fab job the food was amazing 🤩 Also we had an added bonus of 50% off main meals. We will be back

We stayed at the Sandhurst Premier Inn, it was fine for what it was. They have a Beefeaters restaurant attached where we ate a great buffet every morning (kids eat free, so it was around $40 for the whole family!), and some decent dinners too. We ate here a lot over the 4 night stay and every single staff member was amazing!

Service was very average. Our waitress looks ill and tired. Waited a long time for food and drinks. I paid for the refill and had to ask for a new drink. No one else I will with was asked for a other drink at all. I am also allergic to gluten. The menu was no help and the big book they give you was left with me and zero assist. I was left with nachos and chips. Food yes, but not dinner worthy. Dreadful

My family and I had Sunday lunch here this past weekend and the food was amazing! Will definitely return. My only recommendation would be to add a spoon of bisto or thickener to the gravy as although tasty in the little jug, it was hard to taste when it was so watery and running all over the plate once poured. The staff were very polite and professional, however there was quite a wait from the time we entered, till we received our food. I'm not sure if the tables are assigned.. as we seemed to keep getting forgotten. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Saying this though, When we called for someone, they were always quick to respond and as I said, very polite. All in all I recommend the Sunday Roast.

Generous portions with a lovely selection of veg and meat for a enjoyable roast. We was offered more veg and roast potatoes, was a nice gesture. "your eyes bigger than my belly saying"..springs to mind. Recommend and the staff were friendly and service was v good.

Came here with my sister and family just for a birthday meal. Food and service was great and what really topped the whole experience here was the unexpected gift of a signed birthday card by everyone along with a candle and box of chocolates. Our waiter Becky was so lovely. Thanks for a lovely evening. X

Food is amazing especially chicken wings with hot sauce. Amazing customer service by Joe who was very polite and also got me a birthday card and chocolate. Great experience 👍 👌

It was OK. The starter (Pawn Cocktail) could have done with more than a table spoon of prawns for the price paid. We had a large group, many ordered steak which kept cooking under the heat lamps whilst preparing the other dishes, so came out more done than requested. Waitress was lovely though (Charlotte) and would highly recommend asking for her to serve your table.

We arrived for dinner at 1730. Service was very slow until about 1800 when more staff arrived and things improved. Good food at reasonable price.

I enjoyed my meals at Rackstraws, value for money. Staff were excellent not too long to wait for the food. They cover to a Gammon steaks, upto a Steak and chips 🍟, or even burger, plus anray what's on the menu. With a drink of yr choice from the bar. Even a cooked breakfast if you want to, if you are staying at the Premier Inn Hotel next door. Worth a visit

Very surprised as avoided here for the last few months as everything from decor to menu was tired. Happy to report that excellent decor, menu & staff. Very busy as a Friday night but staff were moving quickly but were cheerful and helpful. New menu had so many choices and we had salmon and a prawn dish with sweet potato fried and chargrilled veg. Will come back again soon
