I booked Christmas lunch at Riboville restuarant for myself and family. Considering that this is a five star place and for the amount of money they charged for the Christmas lunch, the service was really disappointing. We arrived at 12:30pm in-line with my booking only to find the kitchen staff and waiters still running up and down busy with their preparation. We sat for over 30 minutes without anyone attending to us at all for drinks. Cutlery on our table was incomplete. Once you ate your starter, good luck to getting replacement cutlery for mains. Plates and side plates were not being replaced in time at the food station and at some point in time I saw a waiter come out with what must have been wet plates and he was wiping them with an unclean cloth at the food station. There was only one waiter attending to a number of tables in the section where we sat and even with her trying her best, it was just impractical for her to be able to give us good service. Our table was also unfortunately near the kitchen so you could hear the supervisor or kitchen manager continuously going into kitchen shouting at the staff to hurry up. The experience just ruined our Christmas Day which also happens to be my husbands birthday. This was my first and last time at this place. I have always booked out Christmas lunch for my family and this was the most unpleasant Christmas lunch experience we have ever had.I would have rated this one star but the dessert station which had a wide variety of treats was a highlight for my children.

The food was mediocre (I had the lamb shank and samp) but the service was good. Godfrey and Dennis were amazing, attentive and easy to engage with. The surrounds are also lovely so quite a nice place to spend a relaxed day. Definitely keen to go back for the environment and maybe something else on the menu will be great.

I love this hotel, great food, beautiful ambience, stunning location. I have had 2 consecutive incidents though of making reservations that were confirmed, but not honoured when we arrived. First was on the 14th August, we reserved a gazebo but when we arrived, it had been released to other guests. We got profuse apologies, but that didn't solve our issue. The second incident was last night - I called around 10:20am, to make a booking for dinner. All was confirmed for my dinner at 7pm. Upon arriving at the restaurant though, there was no table reserved for us. We had to wait for 45 minutes before one became available. I had a guest and was highly embarrassed by this, as I had been raving about the place. Can this issue please be attended to. We cannot have bookings confirmed, but not being honoured. Thanks.

We had lunch at the restaurant on Sunday and it was amazing. Lovely ambiance in a beautiful setting, complemented by the live band. The food is excellent, with good portions. Service can be a bit slow when it’s busy but not the worst. Family friendly with enough space for the kids is always a plus!

I visited the establishment a few times for corporate events and functions and found the place to be very quiet and peaceful even though it's sandwiched between Midrand and Sunninghill - you get that nature feel with the matching crisp air even though you are in the city. Excellent food and service. The estate is well designed with attention to detail.

This is an exquisite hotel and restaurant set in the serene polo fields of Waterfall. The decor throughout is set with intention and lends to the ambience of this hotel feeling like a gallery yet having the charm of home. Each art piece was carefully selected and placed - nothing can be faulted there. The views across the polo fields leave you feeling as though time is standing still and that nothing else in the world matters. It’s one of the best feelings in the world! Once you get over the grandeur of the building, you are greeted by friendly and professional staff who will ensure that you’re stay at the establishment is well taken care of, whether it’s a short stay at the restaurant or a longer stay at the hotel. I sampled the restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The waitron was attentive, the food was fantastic and the drinks were superbly served. The only things I can fault are the length of time taken to enter the estate from the security checkpoint, as well as the lack of parking at the hotel. Riboville Boutique Hotel is a hidden gem but worth the adventure.

Took my boyfriend for a birthday breakfast on the 27th August at this place and this has by far been one of the best places we've visited. The service, scenery, ambience and food was amazing. Every waiter was available to help, every waiter who passed our table would ask if we still good. I can't remember our waiters name, but he also shared the same birthday as my boyfriend, he went the extra mile for us. I don't want to mention the views of this place...exceptional. I'd definitely recommend this place and ofcourse I would visit again

I had the worst experience Our car got stuck because there is a pond next to the parking and cars are most likely to fall into the pond when it happens they deny access for professional help then when police comes they manipulate the situation to their favour,experience was bad was the reception to waiters,they don’t offer any apology,don’t you dare waste your time and money on this restaurant

Had dinner for our wedding anniversary in November. Service was bad. Waited forever to get a waiter. Then he told us they can make any cocktail. When I asked for a ginger mule, he came back to tell me that they don't know that that is. The food was bad. Steak was salty and my wife's salmon was burnt. Same vegetables just put into both dishes. Absolute disappointment. The place is only interested in serving expensive alcohol to all the tenderpreneurs that frequent the place. Not worth your time or your money.

It was beautiful. We came here after working hours just to see the sunset/sundown and it was great. We set at outside to have that amazing feel of the climate . The outdoor setting area was great . Staff was attentive and courteous and food was good . We loved spending our time here...

The place is nice and clean. Excellent restroom 🚻 👏. The meals were great. The music and seating nice. A relaxing environ to stay, eat and hang out with family and friends.

I was disappointed to say the very least. I waited for 30mins to get any service. The waiters left me unattended for good a 30mins before they could take my order. My order took another 30mins or more.

went to have a birthday. made reservations. arrival, they know about the reservation.. but no table has been set for us. apparently they have a professional chef, "chef guy" the man only knows about presentation, and not much about taste. we ordered sushi, including sashimi. the price was shockingly high, presentation is good, portion is fair. taste is pathetic. wasabi did jot even mildly clear my sinus. ginger was stale. sushi itself tasted poor. sashimi (180 rand for a portion) was sad, and tasted of water. grilled ribs for the kid, costing 180, was a small portion, fair taste, and well presented. sweet potatoes at 40 rand was pathetic. poor presentation and bad taste. 50 rand milkshake was overpriced for standard portion and standard taste. tiger eye starter at 85 rand was disgraceful, but well presented. beef fillet at 350, was well presented, lacked flavour, but at least was a decent Portion. rib eye at 395, was not cooked to perfection. medium was requested, medium to well was delivered. but the taste was lacking. sea bass at 365 lacked flavour lavender duck.. sad at 365 oxtail ragu was not worth the 365.. even though it looked nice. creme brulee was not properly prepared,and tasted bad. chef ought to be ashamed of himself. or he needs to make sure he trains his staff better.

This place is amazing. You'd swear you're outside of Gauteng. I went to their spa and I had a great massage there, done by Mimi. Should you go the spa, request for Mimi, she does the best massages.

Stunning location and establishment. Would highly recommend this venue for conferences, private dinners, romantic date nights or a luxury luncheon or dinner for corporate events. I've been there for dining. Lately, they have a live band occasional Friday evening, Saturdays and Sundays. When weather permits, they are outside in the grass area. Service is always great, food is great, bathrooms always clean and neat. It is also family friendly. The outdoor area overlooks the golf course.

Great service, beautiful ambience, amazing staff. Definitely recommend this venue to anyone wanting authentic 5 star service. Greay for corporate events as well.

As you drive into the estate you are welcomed by a beautiful taste of Nature's Beauty, honestly gorgeous. It somewhat feels like one is not in JHB. We video the restaurant and I enjoyed myself a light starter which I must marvel about and say it was delicious. The service can be quiet slow as we had waits of about 30mins searching for our waiter, this could be improved. Other disappointing factor is the shortage of drinks that need to be ordered here and there. This was discussed with the manager who was friendly and receptive. I would revisit Riboville hopefully during the day to take in the beautiful scenery

Will never, ever, ever recommend this place to anybody, and have made sure that my company will never take its corporate guests here. Came here for a Xmas event. Got turned away at the entrance because they didn’t have parking. Had to park at the mall down the road and wait for a “shuttle”. The shuttle wasn’t marked and there was no designated place to wait so just walked. Worst was the place clearly wasn’t full. Then, when leaving similar issues. Honestly have had better service at a McDonalds drive through. This place is supposed to be upmarket, but embodies the fact that money doesn’t buy class.

Really nice restaurant that is good for breakfast and is a great venue for evening activities. The the outside area has huge artworks and a nice view of horses sometimes running around. I recommend visiting this location for tea and cake 🍰

Would like to commend the amazing service I got from the beautician at riboville hotel Goodness Dlomo. She was so friendly gave me thee most amazing massage and did my nails. I was so impressed with her service and work. I will definitely be coming again for lunch massage and a beauty treatment with Goodness please.

This restaurant is based in an amazing location. The setting is really beautiful for business lunches. The food tastes amazing with good portion sizes that allow you to have a three course meal without feeling bloated. The pricing on the food does not reflect the portion size at all, pricing is rather linked to the quality of food. What i did not like was the wait. At times i requested another drink to pass time while waiting for the food but the drink took just as long. I would often remind the waiter thinking he either forgot or didnt hear me but he did. Please work on this. I was there with 7 other people who each had a three course meal and unlimited drinks so it could not have been that we didn't order enough food/drinks to warrant some attention. The waiting of the food as well is too long with little communication. I think the fact thay our waiter was MIA played a significant role on this. Covid protocols were adhered to. Wee sat outside so thay we can try sit without our masks on. It was windy but nothing that the restaurant could have done.

This place is so beautiful and tranquil. So loved the live music and the atmosphere but the service is so poor. We got there and an hour later we still had not received any drinks. Since the waiter brought only water. The waiter comes back after a very long time and does not check up on you. Our food also came hours later and the past was not nice at all. I was so disappointed because I actually like this place

Extremely good everything you would expect from a five star hotel. I only have two negatives on the hotel and they are minor But they were having trouble with there WiFi and Room numbers service after a thunderstorm storm but hopefully it will be fixed soon which is forgibeable. I also found the food pricing and portions strange as some meals were huge and so the extra price was justified where on other options the meals were significantly smaller for the same price Other then that Amazing amazing amazing

Horrible experience! Poor service , no waiters to get u a table and orders . The worst experience ever was the parking bay being right next to a deep pod , a hazardous area without any caution and our car got stuck in the hole. They didn’t assist us from 8pm and denied professional tow truck to came in to free our car . The police had to get involved for my car to be released at 10pm from the UNSAFE pit .
