While a little bit dated, the facilities and service are still 5 🌟 and you can't get a more central location. Great, friendly service any excellent breakfast

We were on the 6th floor outdoor terrace for an afternoon staff function and we had a great time. Great food and drinks and the staff were very hospitable and attentive.

Great service, enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the staff are warm and welcoming. Mr Bruce the manager at the bar and restaurantin particular was exceptional. We'll definitely come back.

Great service, but too noisy. While in your room, you can hear the too loud music from the 6th floor restaurant and bar, till pretty late at night.

I love everything about my stays here !!! The class , the care , the convenience & the service its a A-Z package simply the best !! Also the breakfast is not halaal but they have such a wide variety of strictly vegetarian meals which is perfect 😁ps : just found out you actually can pre request a halaal meal how cool

Excellent service!!!! If you have breakfast, lunch or dinner you can expect the most delicious food. The gym shames every other gym I have been to. The rooms are stunning with the finest details to make your stay even more comfortable!!!

Everything tops. I loved it. The food was out of this world. The service is superb 👌 👏. My kids and grandchildren were so excited. I wished to stay more, but the payment does not come cheap. I need a gift of free accommodation.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I’ve never been disappointed UNTIL a man by the name of Denis, who is a manager, I assume, as he is not a watron ruined our night. While we requested doggy bags and paper cups for our unfinished food&d rinks…he proceeded to tell us how we are wasting his stock and costing him, as we should eat and finish everything at the restaurant, and not leave with the left overs. He further refused to give me water, as I asked for it after having a few drinks. Apart from the one rotten apple , The food, ambience and whole vibe was AMAZING , at the restaurant.

The place is beautiful and the cleaning staff are excellent, one thing that really ruined my stay was the breakfast staff , they are extremely rude and don’t know the concept of customer service. On my previous visit to this hotel there were Halaal sausages and etc and on this visit we were told that the new management have taken it out, which makes absolutely no sense as not everyone eats seafood. And why should we pay extra for Halaal food when we are already paying for the breakfast. I am utterly disappointed and won’t be visiting this hotel again.

We were invited to dinner, and all I can say is wow❤️ What a stunning experience! I never realised that it was attache to the Sandton Mall...such a classy gem. I look forward to staying there one day..apparently their turn down service is really excellent and room zizes are amazing, from what I saw on pictures from the guests staying there We spent more time at the restaurant...which I would highly recommend for their fantastic service and delectable food🌹🌹🌹 Oooh..their cocktails are out of this world too🌹❤️

The Sandton Sun hotel in JoBurg SA is uniquely located in the heart of of business district. From the moment I entered the lobby of the hotel until I left, the customer service was impeccable! It's within walking distance of the great late Nelson Mandela Mall. I will definitely revisit again soon.

Everything is lovely here! Great views from the room, I particularly like the San Deck restaurant downstairs and that the mall is in the same building for convenience. Whether you’re there for business or pleasure, it’s all catered for. Just that it is in the middle of the city so be prepared for the hustle and bustle of it all.

Great location and beautiful hotel. We had a small problem with the toilet but was fixed and cleaned with great care. Staff and service is out of this world. This 5* hotel is in the best locations in Johannesburg. Staff is friendly and the booking process was great. Food is fabulous and consistently great. This is truly great value for money.

The hotel room's interior was tastefully decorated, with attention to detail evident in every aspect of the design. My room was not only immaculately clean but also cozy and comfortable. The view from my window overlooking the ocean was breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset.

The restaurant before the entry is beautiful with a luxurious ambience. In cold nights, they offer blankets and there are bon fires to gather around that just makes the place feel more homey. Great service. Quiet and has a beautiful view.

At first welcome the hotel and service was warm and attentive especially after a long day. However once we got to our room it was still being cleaned at 9pm but looks like they've forgotten to clean up the previous guests bodily fluids.

Amazingly beautiful 5 star Hotel in the heart of Sandton. Staffs very respectfull and polite. Great treatment of staff especially the food and drinks side. Rooms with a veiw of Sandton. Only been there for visit and food & drinks with a friend will be back soon for holiday.

The Porter was rude😑 reported at front desk, didn't receive feedback 👎. ☹️Staff member, pregnant lady... it is now 3 mornings in a row...she is shouting waiters in front of customers👎(very unprofessional?. I'll formally complain to Southern Sun Head Office, really unacceptable 👎behavior. Rooms are 👌 Location 👌, there's a shopping center next door....also a free shuttle to Nelson Mandela Square. Drop off and pick up at Sandton Sun. Food 😋 awesome, buffet morning and dinner, à là carte on request. ☹️Dessert at dinner time 👎stale cakes and no one checks on the dessert station. If you eat after 8pm, it will be a mess, had to request fruit salad refill 👎. Tables are not cleaned, if they remove dirty crockery and cutlery...it is then a mission and a half to dress it up again 👎

The room is clean and its cleanliness maintained throughout the day. The staff is polite, helpful and responsive to requests (mine at least).

Lovely 5 star hotel in a ‘safe’ area. Attached to a very high end mall and Nelson Mandela square where there are a lot of popular restaurants where you can eat alfresco, very economically by world standards, in a lovely atmosphere.,

Hotel needs a refresh to look and feel more modern. It stuck in the 80’s. No hot water when we arrived and the next morning ! For a 5 star that is unacceptable, took the staff a couple hours to come around and try resolve. Sadly it was not the case , I should be compensated for such bad customer experience , on checkout I did mention to the staff , however they didn’t even bother on time perhaps offering a compensation. If I was a 5 star hotel I would be devastated that the hot water was not working and do what I could do compensate to avoid such reviews

The hotel is located in a serene, safe environment and close to the Sandton mall. Loved the shower and the room. Very comfy bed. The restaurant downstairs offers affordable meals. Loved it They offer a shuttle to and from the Sandton mall at no extra charge.

The rooms are very comfortable and the service was outstanding. Everyone from the front desk to the kitchen staff was extremely accommodating to our needs. Antonia and her team in the dining room were particularly pleasant in ensuring that our specific needs were met. Covid 19 protocols are strictly adhered to and make the guests feel safe. I have stayed at the Sandton Sun on previous occasions and look forward to my next visit.

One of the best hotel and restaurant facilities for your stay. This was my second stay and they never disappoint. Spent a week with them and every day I returned to my room after a long day, I'll find it super clean as if I've just checked in. They're level of professionalism is complementary, level of cleanliness is amazing, coffee machine available in the rooms, restaurant food is amazing. Biggest plus is the mall that is accessed through the restaurant floor, I could go on and on and on, try it.

The 5 star Sandton Sun doesn't disappoint. As soon as you enter the reception area you are met by the kind of opulent splendour you'd expect from such a prestigious hotel situated in the country's most expensive per square metre soil. The staff are attentive to your needs, polite and friendly. Entering the bar area is breathtaking and your eyes are immediately drawn upwards towards the ceiling to which the Towering Inferno replica lifts are travelling to and from. A most impressive chandelier resembling a shower head with water falling from it cascades down the centre of the huge open space providing a stunning centrepiece. Everything is top quality and modern and leaves you feeling convinced this is the most luxury you have ever experienced. Our room on the 17th floor (room 1708) was an odd shape as it was on the corner of the building but the spectacular views in multi directions from the floor to ceiling windows made up for it. The bed was massive and ultra comfortable and the blackout curtains ensured a great night's sleep. The bathroom was gorgeous with a very spacious power shower however the double ended bath was far too small for the two of us.. Everyting was there that we needed except there was only enough milk for us to have one cup of tea or coffee each. The breakfast experience: Superb ultra fast and friendly service and amazing choice of food including smoked salmon, kippers and the usual cereals and full English etc, etc. To conclude: To stay in a hotel of this standard would cost three times more in somewhere like London so in my opinion it was great value. We only stayed one night but left feeling well rested, pampered and appreciated and very satisfied therefore I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The place is amazing! Ideal for an intimate dinner, has great food and I really enjoyed the wine that was suggested to me. The waiter should that was knowledgeable when suggesting the best wines to have with the dish that I would have.

Started of well for for a special occasion for my wife’s birthday as a weekend getaway. All went wrong on the booking for the spa packages was booked on the day we were checking out which was meant to be the day before. Even after this was confirmed by the receptionist Sindi on mail 17days in advance. All they could offer was an apology for messing up the dates for which we were really looking forward to the spa as would anyone as part of a planned event. This is not what I expect from such a highly rated hotel. Completely disappointed and left highly frustrated. Will never bother with this hotel again!!!

Checked almost all my boxes..good for families and couples. Location is a ➕, easy access to Nelson Mandela Square and the mall. Families room are on the 10 and 11 floor, so we couldn't get the view from the upper floors but we still had a view. The food is delicious. The only ➖ is that our room was on the pool/restaurant side and on the weekend there is a DJ playing up to 8:30pm and you can hear the music from the lower levels rooms.

Its a nice hotel however I forgot a bottle of Dior cologne in the bathroom. I called the hotel 3 hours after checking out to ask that they hold it for me as I was going to be staying with them again in a few days. I was informed that it wasn’t in the room. Unfortunately I know for a fact I left it on the bathroom counter. Its sad that the cleaning lady was willing to risk her job over a $100 bottle of cologne. The hotel must be paying the staff poorly if they are so desperate they need to steal from guests. Needless to say I will be staying at a different hotel. If you stay here be sure to watch your things and use the room safe. They have a theft problem. They have lost a client.

True definition of 5 star ! Welcomed like royalty from the moment we entered. Swift and humble check-in process with all staff members maintaining a smile throughout. Professionalism was observed at all points throughout our stay. Mr.Elliot and Mr.Bruce were names to mention who indeed went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home and at ease with the best of comfort throughout our experience. The accomodation (suite) is the pinnacle of luxury. Clean, spacious, modern. No faults at all. Food and restaurant was super awesome and vibey. The music was on point with the live DJ and the food was excellent in quality and quantity. Overall a wonderful experience where standards were definitely not altered amidst the Covid-era. We shall definitely be back soon.

Not as luxurious as the Intercontinental in Sandton and has smaller rooms. Average service more suitable for business and conferences when you only looking for a shower and a bed.

Great five star hotel attached to Sandton Mall. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bed was super comfortable. All the amenities and attention to service you'd expect from a 5 star place. Really convenient for the Mall with it's high end designer shops and fabulous retaurants

My experience was pleasant. Could the servers have been more present, known the menue, and not have made us wait forever, certainly. Does the scenery and abience make up for it, for sure. This wasn't a stay, just dinner and drinks at their version of a sky bar... I must say... I will be back for some cocktails and tequila by the pool!!
