Used to be ok but no time to get to the root of a problem, and since this Plandemic fiasco I don't feel I can approach this surgery with any confidence now.

Oldbury Health Centre is very hit and miss, Dr Dawson, Dr Okpo and Dr Endospy are amazing and few others including lovely Pearl and another receptionist or secretary Joanne- they're both respectful and caring. Keep it up, to the empolyees that are genuinely lovely and respectful, the rest seriously need some supervision with their calls. There's this one doctor (who I won't name and shame) that loves to rush me off the phone and is always quick to end the call and cut me whilst I'm speaking. The last call I had with him lasted just under 3 minutes and I had a lot to talk about yet it was so short. He always finds ways to end the call and rush you and I always find myself crying after speaking with him as I feel so so unheard and small. I suffer with ongoing mental health illness and suicidal thoughts that is believed to potentially be autism now. A few weeks ago (the last call I had with him), I had an urgent appointment( with the doctor I won't name and shame) where I was expressing symptoms and he said "what do you want me to do about it?" then he said I should follow it up with my mental health team and at that point my psychiatrist appointment was not until late Jan 2024 and I was mentally falling apart. I needed help from this doctor and was rushed off the phone and denied any help. This has happened many many times and after quickly ends the call I end uphaving a meltdown after the call and unable to speak for a few hours after like my other episodes, never thought it would be triggered by GP. I'm upset with him but I still wish him well and a good Christmas, being a GP cannot be easy but that is not how you go about it. The rest of the surgery has it's faults but nothing is perfect. Well done

They never answer the phone, always have to wait minimum 15-20 mins before anyone picks up, they don't deserve 1 star.

Had a ultrasound scan and the doctor was useless, I've had a lump on back since December and finally got a ultra sound May 1st 10:00am in the morning. He asked to see my back showed him he didn't even look he was busy setting the ma chine up, I then pointed to my lump while lying down he literally scanned everywhere but the lump he was ignorant didn't listen to me where the lump was. He then said nothings showing up but at the end of the scan he we over the lump and so thing showed up he still denied anything was on the scan even though he seen it himself. Won't be going there again. Can't remember his name as I'd report him make a complaint.

Would give a rating of 0 if possible. Patient confidentiality is not well practiced at this doctors. A receptionist was very rude and shouted confidential information infront of the whole surgery waiting room. To say this is a place where you are supposed to feel comfortable and cared for - this is not the treatment you receive. In my experience today doctors did not seem to know what they were doing either - very unorganised.

Rude receptionists, difficult to get an appointment unless it's 2 weeks away, extremely long waiting times when you're actually there, and very poor bedside manner from doctors. The only really decent doctors are Dr. Endersby and Dr. Duckworth. They're the only ones who listen, are thorough and don't try to rush you out. After misdiagnosis, being given the wrong medication, being spoken to like dirt, and being fobbed off with SO MANY EXCUSES, I refuse to see anyone else. Those 2 doctors are a credit to the surgery.

GP sent me to get MRI scan for my knee, as I have a pain every time I go for a run. It's been over 2 months after the scan, nearly 3. I haven't heard anything back from anyone. No letter, no call, nothing. Today I called the reception, for the secretary to tell me that the detailed scan results are "satisfactory" as per who ever wrote that comment on my results. No more information. Expected to be contacted to expect my results, and I expected a better explanation than "satisfactory" from the receptionist, who I had to contact and was rude on the phone. I regret moving to this GP, it wasted so much of my time. I will not probably have to go to a private GP to get a scan and discuss with them. Now I will start moving to a different one. I would suggest if you thinking to register here, to avoid them!

Appointment booking and waiting is absolutely disgusting! Over the years every appointment so far has resulted in us waiting a minimum of 30 minutes after our appointment time. I am very annoyed trying to book an appointment for a family member I've hung up after being on hold for 18 minutes right now. People have jobs, seeing a doctor here requires you to book the whole day off.

Always found the surgery helpful. If it wasn’t for the doctors here we would of never of found that my son at 14 had diabetes. They were great when I had appendicitis, straight in hospital. Reading some of the other reviews, the holiday vaccinations will not be paid for by the nhs anymore. I’m sure you’ll find that there have been many cuts to there budget by government.

It used to be a good clinic but now the service is appalling. I ordered my mum's repeat prescription 04/12/20 through Pharmacy2you, to be told today 14/12/20 that my GP is still to approve it; that is 10 days! I tried to call them twice this morning, I waited over an hour each time, no answer; funny is that the automated message says they appreciate my call and won't keep me waiting long. So this afternoon, after trying on the phone again, I went there (you now talk with them through a window); she shrug her shoulders and said they are busy and the prescription will be done on Wednesday! I have no idea what they are busy with, as my mum and I had no appointments since the crises started in March and I can just imagine after this experience that it will be impossible to get an appointment anyway.

This used to be a great surgery, why they spent all the money on refurbishing it I don't know as they no longer carry out most of the services they used to, no holiday vaccinations, phoning to make appointments for blood tests, not getting sent your test results and don't start me about trying to make an appointment pure joke.

Lately the receptionists and nurses are a credit to the surgery. I needed to have my daughter seen urgently due to her exams, and the team worked over and above to help us. Thank you so much. Yvette Saunders

" when my arthritis flailed up I was unable to walk for five days, I needed a repeat prescription for the medication I have been prescribed before by a specialist, the GP wouldn't prescribe the correct dosage because I was a new parent and felt that a home visit was unnecessary .It's easier to die than get help from these GPs."

My personal experience at Oldbury Health Centre has been nothing but positive. I changed to this surgery after being with Oakham Surgery since birth as the service they were providing was terrible and in my opinion life threatening. They tried to diagnose a lump on my testicle OVER THE PHONE! After moving to Oldbury Health Centre and contacting them with the same problem I was examined by a doctor, sent for an ultrasound and given blood tests. The kind of service you would expect. I live with anxiety and the service and care I have received from OHC has been amazing, I have been sent for CBT, talking therapy and offered medication. The doctors have always been brilliant with the service they have provided me. My old doctors just shoved me on medication and left it at that for my anxiety.

Waiting times in waiting room are ridiculous, many reception staff dont have a clue what they are doing and give missleading information or tell you to ring back countless of times making you feel you are not getting anywhere. Autism diagnosis taken 5 years wait due to their unorganised practices. Finding parking is a joke. Waiting areas are very full most of the time.

When faced with a general problem you can't get an appointment. When you have serious concerns you can't get an appointment. When you get home from A&E you can't get an appointment. No appointments for the next 2 weeks so you try to make it after but you can't as no appointments beyond that. The whole system needs upgrading.

Obviously as with all surgeries in the UK these days, it can be challenging to get an appointment sometimes, but I have received excellent care from the doctors here recently, especially Dr Ishtiaq, who not only treated me with genuine empathy and care yesterday, she even managed to get me an emergency referral to the hospital on the same night! Ten out of Ten, I hear so many negatives about GPs, but a number of times Oldbury have come up trumps for me, very friendly telephone and counter staff too.

This place needs a clean out and seriously looking into some of the doctors. Partner waited a month for call off gp after being referred to by hospital for health concerns and to keep checks up to date. Phoned not even 2 seconds ended the call partner had to call back & say did get call back he described all his symptoms and is current conditions could relate. Doctor spoke over him didn't want to hear about past medical history and just kept saying migraines. With conditions he does have definitely not migraines. Even his mental health team had to tell doctors off because partners blood tests flagged rwd and gp did nothing about it. Update- My partner now needs on operation on his heart because his valves are not working properly. Thanks for nothing oldbury GP. If I didn't bagger for investigation about it he probably drop down with heart failure. You will be looking at his spine next for pain and cause

Takes on average 20mins to get through on the phone line, then no appointments available for 2, sometimes 3 weeks. Got a text message off them saying my mother needs to see the doctor to discuss her blood test results. She phoned and was told no appointments available for 2 weeks. She was told that a doctor would call her instead. No doctor has called. My mom now is sat at home worrying about her test results with no way of finding out what the issue is. If I was thinking of signing up to the service I would go elsewhere if you want to avoid falling serious ill and having no option but to go to the local A&E.

At the moment the Waiting Area is spaced out for Covid19 reasons. I didn't wait long to be called for my blood test; the nurse was friendly and professional. A separate exit is used on departure.

I symphatize with the GP due to the current situation but the receptionists cut the phone call after waiting for 30 minutes. Shameful and Rude.

I think Oldbury Medical Centre is on an upward curve, at the moment, although I'll qualify that comment by saying that it started from an extremely low baseline. They do now respond to emails, which they rarely did before, and you can now get F2F appointments. I've never had a problem with any of the GPs at the practice and I've just had a telephone appointment with Dr Okpo? which was very thorough. The star of the show though, in my opinion, is Dr Aggarwal: who is always excellent

This has to be the worst doctors surgery ever. You never get the same day appointment. There’s no system to book online and the receptionist. Just want to get off the phone as quick as possible and just say call back tomorrow and see if you can get an appointment. Avoid all costs and find another and find another doctor surgery

  • 1/5 Charlita C. 4 months ago on Google
Terrible services when it comes to call back service 3 times promised a call back all 3 times no one has called. When you call they claim they told you a different date and time. But when that date and time comes still no call back. You ask to speak to a Manager a manager is not available. They send a text about test results and for me to call for a call back and to pick up medication but can't start medication because don't know what it's for or how to take because no instructions on packaging. So now gone 8 days medication is just sitting at home with no instructions from nurse because of no call back 3 times.
