Great tour. A very interesting history and restoration is very authentic. Thank you! No additional cost. It was part of the admission cost to the Atlanta History Center. Which was also a great place! Time and money well spent!

Loved visiting here. The house was beautiful and had some interesting exhibits. Allow at least 45 min -1 hour to enjoy. You will need another 2-3 hours if you are coming to explore the rest of the property. Worth the time and money.

It's part of the Atlanta History Center and has a lot of the charm you find at any historic mansion. It's been partially restored with some original furniture, but a lot of the history can still be seen. Especially with respect to the common areas. I personally enjoyed seeing the architect's porcelain collection downstairs the most. There's also a couple rooms dedicated to Emily's passion, women's suffrage with some fun posts from visitors. Definitely make it a point to visit since you don't see many of these kinds of mansions in the public space.

I visit a lot of these houses. I just wish I had the money to be that person. Lol. But I have to say the lady that lived on the top floor with the octagon window had the best view in the house.

This place was amazing! My daughter and I visited on a Saturday afternoon. Very affordable and very educational! The Swan House is actually part of the Atlanta History Museum so your ticket price gets you into all the exhibits there. It was a beautiful place and very very well-preserved. The staff was very nice and taught us a lot about the history of the Swan House and the family there. I'm hoping to go back soon because we went at the end of the day and I would love to explore more of the Swan House and the Atlanta History Museum.

Swan House is an amazing piece of history. To think it was featured in the Hunger Games trilogy was also fairly interesting as well. The bottom floor was stated to be generally unchanged. The second floor has two rooms about women's history. The employees there are very knowledgeable and can answer nearly every question you have too. The pictures you see does not do the building justice, inside and out.

This house has 4 floors filled with old items and staged wonderfully. We'll kept for its age and interesting to look into each room and see how someone may have lived at that time. Nice place to have a day trip.

The Swan House was an amazing experience in Atlanta. I recommend!! The girl who guided us on the tour was pretty helpful. I would like to have more signs with information about antiques, furnitures and art. One more time, it's an great place to visit if you travel to Georgia State.

A cool house with some history. They have set up the house as it would have been during the times it was in use as a residential house. This house is located on the grounds of a bigger museum complex. Free parking on site.

The Edward Inman "Swan" House is a mansion in Atlanta, Georgia. It was designed by Philip T. Shutze and built in 1928 for Edward and Emily Inman. The house is currently part of the Atlanta History Center, and it has been featured in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2.

It was quick and beautiful. A good addition to the back of the museum to end the day. Walking there through lush gardens in the fall to see the gorgeous architecture of the house, highly recommended.

Beautiful step into the past! Had an amazing tour guide full of knowledge. Don't skip the farm and museum. I'm still jealous of the basil plants they have growing. Yummy!

Great house to tour and an outdoor area with sheep and chickens. There were two classic cars near the Swan House. The power had gone out like 20 minutes before we had gotten there so they gave us free tickets because the machine didn’t work !!!! Awesome !😂 great place and staff are friendly

The history of this house is very interesting. My friend & I took the tour which was very insightful, especially learning about The Inmans. The preservation was stellar and the story behind some of the items was cool. I enjoyed learning that it was used in The Hunger Games movie series, on of my favs!

I loved this place! We visited in February so the Japanese gardens weren't in bloom yet, so we missed out on that but the swan house itself is so beautiful, regardless of the season. It was nice to explore it with less tourist. In order to get to the swan house you need to buy a ticket for the historic center. There's a museum, some log cabins, goats, chickens lots of cool things to look at. This is all covered with the price of admission. Overall we spent around 3 hours here

This place was great, my daughter loves the hunger games movies, it was very neat seeing the house in person. She was in astonishment telling me what rooms played a big part in the movie.. And it's nice being directly behind the Atlanta history center, lots to see there as well

Beautiful landscape, picturesque, and you can find a Tiny Doors 🚪 ATL here! The venue is beautiful at sunset, where you can rent for a private event, wedding, or photo shoot. There are plenty of walking trails to enjoy the beauty surrounding the house and gardens around the Swan House. Staff are full of knowledge and history and also open to gaining a few nuggets of their own from you! There is plenty of parking available and the area is nestled in a wonderful area that is very safe and beautiful.

this place is truly stunning. left us speechless. it's a place to learn the history, appreciate the beauty of the garden and flower, and just the beautiful architects and its surroundings. it's not too busy on a weekend, parking is easy, come for a nice stroll, and visit the history center, also try the brash cafe.

This was an excellent visit. The house itself is gorgeous. There are additional signs to tell you fun facts and history about the house. And, there is a fun exhibit in the basement. Furthermore, there is a nice trail from the history center to the house.

Swan house is a great place to experience some local historic culture. Also famous for making an appearance in hunger games, it’s a brief walk from other historical buildings, a restaurant, and part of the Atlanta History Museum complex.

Swan house is beautiful time capsule that takes you through early 20th century daily life of a wealthy Atlanta family. The house is well maintained and fits the beautiful landscape its built on. The rooms are magnificent and the grounds has one of the best examples of landscape stepped fountains in America. I loved exploring the place.

The History Museum in general was interesting view in Atlanta’s past. The Swan House was a mini dose of Biltmore though signage on the servants quarters was nonexistent.

We visited solely so my boyfriend could take pictures of Swan House. There’s no option but to pay the full ticket price for the entire venue. That being said, parking is free on-site. You will need to park near the main building as parking isn’t allowed at Swan House. There’s a lot present with really no rhyme or reason. You have a locomotion section, civil war history, folk art, and Native American galleries in the main building. Outside in the back is like 2 “period” houses, a couple of goats and sheep, a poorly curated garden walk, and then Swan House. Swan House is staged with some historic pieces but mostly updated products placed. Would hesitate calling it a museum. Most items aren’t marked so you can’t associate the readings with them very easily.

This is a must see if you like visiting historical homes. I loved visiting this amazing house with its beautiful architecture, antiques, furniture, art and gardens. Great experience as a part of the Atlanta History Center. Nearly all rooms accessible, all beautifully preserved from that period. Make sure you set aside time to visit the basement gallery of a quite extensive export porcelain collection.

As an Atlanta wedding photographer, there is truly no place to have your wedding than at The Swan House. The house is so stunning and rich in history. It is so classic and iconic and truly resembles a timeless wedding venue.

Worth every second spent here, veterans get in for free but I would say that it’s worth the visit. Family friendly and I think adults will find it interesting. I also found out that Bank of America customers also get in for free by showing their credit card. Such a cute place, very clean and well preserved.

Absolutely amazing ! The best experience I’ve had in a museum! My family and I learned so much! It was beautifully out together. One thing I’d recommend is tweaking the Indian exhibit a little more! But everything was practically perfect!Everyone who worked there was so pleasant! From the lovely lady I purchased my ticket from, to the lovely lady That cleaned my sons drink that accidentally spilled and to the super informative guy at the farmhouse ! Good ole southern hospitality !! I can’t wait to go back !!

First, they do military and I got to visit the museum for free. Second, I’m a big Hunger Games fan and I was in awe. Seeing how they made President Snow’s office green walls to white with different furniture was very interesting in person. The front of the Snow House was really beautiful and smaller than expected. They do weddings in the front a lot so it was caged off to go on the yards.

It's an amazing place. There is quite a bit to see. Unfortunately we didn't get to see everything. If this is your first time there, you need to go into the Atlanta History Center and buy your ticket. It's in the back of that building. You can walk around to see more.

One of the best examples of lavish 1930s homes. This is part of the Atlanta History Center. Well worth the short walk from the center. Furnishings are superb from the main living areas to the kitchen. Grounds are beauty.

This place is just amazing and well worth a visit! One of the history center staff here told me that 95% of all the furnishings and portraits are original to the mansion when the Inman family lived here in the early 20th century. The farm house and cabin nearby were moved from other Atlanta suburban locations, and the farm house has sheep in a small barnyard area in front of it, and a loom inside with which they've made a few things out of the wool. The museum and cyclorama are very interesting as well, making the small price of admission worth every penny spent!

  • 3/5 Ramon E. 5 years ago on Google
Well preserved and told a very descriptive story. There is more than a simple old house but lots of side notes and accompanying artifacts. I must say that at $24 the whole museum (not just the Swan House) was a turn off, so I wasn't surprised that the exhibit was quite empty at the time I visited. However, once in there it is a good experience.

Beyond neat! Stepping into the house you immediately feel like you're a part of history and almost like deja vu because it's so well preserved...nothing was missing. Even an iron board within the maid's room was left standing for realism. Her personal decor with memories of loved ones. Was like visiting someone and you were waiting for them to walk back into the room. The front entrance is of grandeur with a beautiful water fountain. The black and white checker floors was a treat to witness. Lounging in an outside area that's not easily noticed from the drive way. It's definitely worth seeing again to have the information ingrained.

It was so cool how they kept everything in its place. My only negative view was that it was sooooo hot inside. I couldn't wait to get out and look at the gardens. Don't let that stop you tho....it was totally Worth it. Wild to think people lived there. I wish I could've gone down to the grass for pictures but the gift shop had free postcards with photos probably better then mine 😂
