Northside Hospital Interventional Pain & Spine Care - Atlanta

Pain management physician

😠 This is one of the worst pain management hospitals in Ga. The nurse staff is very combative and treats patients like they owe them a favor. My partner is legally disabled and due to a illness unable to walk and has constant pain. When he called to request a leave to be transferred to another center... People often mention pain, doctor, staff, insurance, center, procedure, great, time, care, meds,

I left Northside after they informed me that my insurance was no longer accepted. OVER a year ago. After I left I have continually received invoices. All of which I have paid, every time asking whether anything was pending (each time the answer was no). However, they would continue to send large invoices. (Keep in mind, I never saw a dr only a PA). They continue to send ridiculous invoices and although I have called numerous times they are still charging me for who knows what. Run! Unless you want to be subject to overcharging and inept and crooked billing practices. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE (they also charge you a “hospital fee” which most drs don’t unless they are attached to a hospital.

This is one of the worst pain management hospitals in Ga. The nurse staff is very combative and treats patients like they owe them a favor. My partner is legally disabled and due to a illness unable to walk and has constant pain. When he called to request a leave to be transferred to another center they stalled for weeks to send a letter of discharge. This center treats its patients like they are addicts and belittles them on the phone. We have some of the best insurance that money can buy and we never get a bill. This facility from Hell is upset because their Doctors and staff will no longer be able to reap the insurance money. I wouldn’t refer my worst enemy to this place. Please if you see this review runaway and never return. Other places are better checkout the Sheppard Center they are one of the best and accommodating with all of their staff.

I was referred to this center last year after not being able to walk without extreme pain I went to Northside Hospital ER. I received 10 minute exam, was refused an MRI or anything other than the doctor touching my back. When I get to the pain center they strongly suggest the spinal epidural. I freaked because i don't do needles even though I've had to have several other operations for something else in the past. They suggested swimming and PT (which I had already done). I missed my follow-up appointment & rescheduled for January 2020. They marked that appointment as a regular office visit as if I had never been there before. But AGAIN the PA STRONGLY URGED over and over and over again for me to get the epidural. Because of my fear and the fact that the pain had decreased slightly i panicked again. She said water PT and meds that cause headaches would be prescribed until I was ready. Two days later my back locked again. I called to schedule the epidural. They said it would be scheduled for the 28th because it takes 14 days to precertify with insurance. 4 days before procedure they call to say it's being canceled because I didn't take water PT. After going back & forth with pain center & insurance company (who is having trouble getting answers from pain center too) I'm currently on hold for a procedure scheduled less that 24 hrs from now. I was told the pain center may have an answer from the doctor as to whether he will authorize it by the 29th which is a day AFTER the procedure is scheduled to take place. They don't care about the pain that I'm in, the time off work that has been taken for my driver or myself. They can't get their records straight and they don't answer the phone. Now I have to hope it's approved by the doctor, passed on the insurance company all in time for me to go in at 9:00 tomorrow. I honestly feel that I'm just going to keep taking pain meds and see when I can get a doctor at Emory. (please excuse any typos, i can't see straight I'm so angry and in pain)

I would love to separate out the administration office from the doctors and medical staff. The people that deal with scheduling and assisting patients with administrative tasks are the absolute worst. You can never get anyone on the phone to schedule a follow up appointment and in the off chance that you do, they're the most unhelpful. Doctors and PAs were all great, once you get through all the admin bull. I'd stay clear unless this is your only option.

Report this place and every doctor that does anything off. Also read your medical notes to verify what is being said about you. Based on the reviews this is continous behavior. This place is horrible. I was suffering excruitiating pain and made an appointment which I was told was the soonest. When I left messages to get medication the nurse finally responds and says "well you should have done what the doctor told you to do "which I did, I left messages and was in crippling pain. I asked to speak with the admin and later on I found out they put in my notes I was being difficult when it was their staff that didnt follow up. The admin staff scheduled my appt and I was told the soonest appt to get my procedure done was this location. Almost a month of sufferring, I arrived at the location and got undressed ready for my procedure whrn the doctor rudely says "you dont need to get local pregant women do this all the time" and advises me because my weight they were not able in a smirking way and they would have to do the procedure at this location. Upset because its hard for me to walk n my leg is paralysis I get dressed. This should have been noted a month ago. The admin staff admitted fault and I reported the doctor and he and the staff retaliated and put unsettling notes in my medical records. Get your own copy to verify what is being said about you.

My wife was unfairly cut off of methadone after 10 years. She filled a prescription at an unauthorized pharmacy because we had moved and not informed them first. Coming off of methadone cold turkey was a nightmare. She overdosed on sleeping pills and I had to take her to the emergency room. Finally they were able to revive her. I would much rather use profanities in this situation, but I will try to stay civil. The female doctor "Reccea" or something that sounds like that, is a rude &(*&) bi... She needs a new profession where caring for people is not part of the program. This place sucks !

Terrible service. I moved my dad nearer me so I could care for him. I have to call them every other month to update his prescription to the new location. Every month they say they deleted the old and its right, and it works one month, then the next, it is right back at the wrong pharmacy. This is prescription which cannot be transferred by the pharmacy - it has to be done by the prescriber. So every other month my dad is frantic he won't get his pain medicine. Just a total lack of care of patients when you can't get something this easy correct.

Do not go here!!! You’ve been warned! They will absolutely rip you off. I have UHC insurance and they still charged me over $900 for a single office visit. No treatment, no test, just exam by Dr. then on top of that they use the hospital so for a basic X-ray it was another $850. For reference, I went to another Dr after this and my MRI and epidural didn’t cost that much. DO NOT GO HERE!

Wonderful, courteous staff. The PA Regina took time to explain exactly what was going on and what the treatment plan would be. Dr Ford followed up on Reginas plan and did a thorough assessment and review as well. Very efficient. Never felt rushed out of the office.

Dr. Jada Reese is the best! I could not walk without pain in my hip and back and the morning after my procedure I went for a 3 mile hike, free from pain! I feel like I've got my life back! Mae, RN, was very compassionate before and during the procedure and Danny, RN, was very attentive and caring in PACU. Thank you all, you are a great team. Sherry T.

I have had great success with Northside Spine and Pain in Sandy Springs. The doctors have great bedside manners, are wonderful listeners, and explain all your short term and long term options. My results were exactly as my doctor explained. There is nothing like having the relief of pain in your back and hips and legs.

Our first consultation took more than three hours because the anesthesiologist had a surgery go over. We were referred here by our perinatologist and OB to help assist with migraines during pregnancy. My wife was somewhat offended by the doctor who didn't take the time to be sure she understood the plan, but just kept on explaining because I understood. The doctor also used terminology repeatedly that I didn't know the meaning of so that I had to go back and ask for an explanation of what she was talking about on several occasions. We'll wait and see how the treatment plan ends up working out and I'll update review as needed. - UPDATE: The team was very helpful in our transition to different medications. There is no afterhours line for urgent needs but they worked hard to get the job done during business hours which we are most thankful for.

The care I received today was great from my wonderful nurse Amber to the new doctor, Dr Raquel. Thank you for taking care of me today.

I can’t say enough kind words about how considerate and helpful the professionals have been at Northside Pain in helping me with my pain. They couldn’t be more considerate if I were their own family.

If I could give a zero star it would be a -10. My husband was seen by Dr. Eidleman and her care team. We were referred to this office by neurosurgeon Dr. Goreki not her specifically. My husband had previously been under the care of another pain doctor who we didn’t not know wasn’t following the typical customary of their treatment per say. We later found that out, as his other dr was the only other pain Dr he had ever seen. Dr. Eidleman gaslighted my husband completely and stereotyped him before she even came in the room. Where she said she sees no need for urgent care or pain medication or to redo a treatment per the neurosurgeons recommendation. She just seen he need pain meds. We have never been more mortified. As Dr. Goreki had even went as far as to say my husband was in such bad shape it may be wise to seek disability for a while to get this under control. I was just flabbergasted as I sat there helplessly. My husband is over weight, which a remark was made by way over shooting my husbands weight. Which also proved she never read his file. My husbands has facet joint arthritis and herniated disc at the L4/L5 and L5/S1. He has been sent home just to lay in bed in pain. And told to just lose weight. Then ‘we can talk’. How are you supposed to lose weight when you can barely make it to the bathroom??

I tried to get my husband an appointment. He has had shingles for five weeks and is in severe nerve pain. The rash is almost gone and there are no open blisters. They told me that the rash has to be completely gone before they see him . If anyone knows shingles, they can be red spots for months. Unbelievable do not use these people!!!

Idk what these other bad reviewers are talking about. The drs and PA's are great. I've been going there for now almost 2 yrs, and have never had ANY issues with ANY of them. I arrived 30 min late to a morning appt one time bc my Uber driver got lost. I called while on the way, and the receptionist advised it was no problem. Other providers would have said to reschedule. The only complaint I have is that they're far. I live in McDonough, so it takes 45 min to an hr to get there, depending on the speed of your driving of course ;)

I have been going to NSH Pain Clinic for about 25 years. I have ALWAYS had very excellent service. All doctors, nurses & staff members are always VERY RESPECTFUL & encouraging. We have tried many modalities & meds for the multiple back fractures, (6 different fractured vertebrae, on 3 different occasions,) fibromyalgia, & bilateral knee replacements that have plagued me. They are great about listening to me & HEARING what is new, different, or the same & making adjustments as needed. Because of an insurance change, I went to another hospital's pain center of great reputation for a couple of years, but I was NOT treated with the same respect & consideration. I was always made to feel like I shouldn't be on chronic pain meds/treatments at the new pain center. That is DEVASTATING to a Chronic Pain patient who JUST wants to be able to function daily! As a now disabled RN, these things are VERY noticed by me! I have always been very careful to follow my contract & keep everything above board & according to orders at both places. I was quick to return to NSH Pain Center for treatment when the insurance thing worked out so. I was welcomed back with opened arms. If I ever have had any questions or concerns, the clinic manager, Heidi, RN always called me back personally & very kindly gave me advice. As did the other nurses, doctors, & even the front desk staff! I can't recommend them any higher, but they deserve it in every way! No matter if it was a procedure, a surgery, a referral, or a change in meds, the staff always ALWAYS very pleasant & helpful & have NEVER treated me in any way other than that of a very respected patient. I appreciate that SO MUCH! I have referred many people to them over the years & will continue to do so. They are the very best in the Atlanta & surrounding areas & I truly am incredibly thankful for their concern & respect, especially in this day & age with all the controversy over different types of pain meds & treatments. Thank you, Northside Pain Center!
