Northside Anesthesiology Consultants

Medical clinic Anesthesiologist

😠 Northside needs to sign with a more ethical company. Send a bill and then two days later get a bill for collections? Not to mention their prices are insanely greedy. This is another classic example of a medical practice cutting costs on their 'overhead' when they need to learn that billing and front... People often mention insurance, bill, billing, surgery, Northside, company, months,

Northside needs to sign with a more ethical company. Send a bill and then two days later get a bill for collections? Not to mention their prices are insanely greedy. This is another classic example of a medical practice cutting costs on their 'overhead' when they need to learn that billing and front-desk people make or break a practice.

Just now received a bill for services on 12/2/2017. (5 months later!) They had an old insurance on file and billed incorrectly. I am just now receiving my first bill from them and they will not assist me in filing the correct insurance as it is "past due". However, every other servicer I had for myself and my son was taken care of by January/February. (inculding all of the ones who billed old insurance) The billing department was rude and not helpful at all.

I received a bill after having my baby in the amount of $4,482.50, which is called balance billing and it is completely illegal. I had to have an emergency induction. The anesthesiologist also had to place my epidural TWICE because he burst a blood vessel. When he burst the blood vessel, he became incredibly defensive and rude towards me. I have tried to get in contact with their billing for TWO months now. My insurance should have covered this bill, but they probably coded it wrong. Either way, surprise billing/balance billing is illegal in Georgia.

I NEVER received a bill from them and 7 months later got a collections call. So I researched my insurance company claims until I found them and it was paid.. so great.. they billed the insurance company but never billed me; so I paid it but Northside Anesthesiology Consultants STINKS.

Unfortunately when you go into surgery you have to little control over the anesthesiologist. Mine was really nice but I received an insane bill when the entire procedure should have been covered by insurance. I have called them multiple times to get things corrected and no on answers the phone not have they returned any of my messages. Seems like the is their standard mode of operation based on the reviews and doubt they will change.

Their billing service is completely unresponsive. There is a negotiated rate that my insurance says I am to pay ($1749.60) but they advise it is $5600. I can't get anyone at envision to understand that. As others mentioned, sadly we are at the mercy of the hospital on who our anesthesiologist is at the time of surgery.

Absolutely horrified to see that so many others have had similar issues with their billing department! They filed to the wrong insurance. When I pointed it out, they refused to file to the correct insurance and made me do it on my own (which is illegal since they are under contract with my insurance company). My correct insurance denied claim due to untimely filing but could file an appeal if practice showed proof of timely filing with wrong insurance. Months and months have gone by and they have refused and blown me off. I was told by my insurance that I am not responsible for any payments I receive from them but of course I’m receiving statements for full amount of services. Very worried about being sent to collections and being forced to pay for in full for something my insurance should be covering. It has been a nightmare and quite anxiety inducing. Although the actual services from the anesthesiologist was superb, I will NEVER let them treat me again.

Doctors and nurses were fine for the most part. My complaints would be directed toward the “billing department” which is a completely different company. Completely miserable experience trying to talk to anybody or get any answers about anything.

The surgery center was great. Nurses were kind an competent. It gets less than one star from me though. I had pre op with a nurse and verified that all my surgical clearance info was there. I was told yes and that if anesthesia had concerns they would call. well, apparently anesthesia is lazy and did not do their job. I was hooked up to an IV, fasted and prepped to go to surgery. Well then, Dr Silverman walks in telling me I have all these “red flags” and he won’t do my surgery. He didn’t even communicate to my surgeon who was blindsided when she walked in to mark me. The reasons he gave were Ill informed and he refused to listen to me at all. He also would not listen to my surgeon. He made up his mind without a single discussion or even assessing me. I had clearance letters addressing his hesitation but he thinks he knows more than my specialists. It was so wrong. Oh, and I cannot get my money back for weeks as he cancelled me the day of so all charges already processed. Demand to have your records reviewed and force anesthesia to call you before surgery. This was a huge inconvenience to me and my family who took time away to care for me. It was not ok. I am emotionally not ok. I am offended by the reasoning he gave. I will never use them again.

One of their PAs put my wife and baby at risk and no management was interested. They are a disgusting group and no one should use them. There is a reason their rating is so low. No accountability. No staff coaching. Avoid!!!

Well looks like a common theme on here. Horrible just horrible how they treat people that are coming out of surgery. I lost my job due to covid and then found out I needed to have major surgery. I have tried to contact them for a payment plan but they don’t ever answer their phone. I sent them 2 letters along with bill for them to please contact me as they don’t ever answer their phone.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Surgery was just over a year ago, last I heard Northside Anesthesiology was fighting with my insurance company whether or not I was considered in-network (I was/am).... Took them just over a year to settle my bill, but not before Northside Anesthesiology sent me to collections (unbeknownst to me until I start getting calls). They didn't call, email, text, write or ANYTHING to let me know I was being sent to collections.... Completely unacceptable. I will be filing a complaint with my surgeon's office as well as the the GA Insurance Commissioners office and the GA Consumer Affairs office. . Not only do I not owe them any money (after they were able to straighten out the insurance filing), but this debt collection agency apparently "bought" the debt and now I am having to go around and around with them thanks to NA's incompetence.

My experience is unfortunately similar to many other reviewers. 18 months after surgery I start getting calls from a debt collector. They had been sending account statements to the wrong address for over a year and then when I was finally able to get in touch with them they had switched systems and could tell me very little about what the bill was for and why it took so long for this to come up. Unfortunately with our messed up medical system you don't really get to choose who the anesthesiologist is, but in the future I'd change doctors if they told me it'd be Northside ahead of my procedure.

Expensive They are trying to charge me for something Northside Hospital is covering as part of financial assistance. They are hard to get in touch with; since their website doesn't work, I can't go on there to get their fax number to send them my letter of financial assistance.

I kept getting invoices from this company because they are an out-of-network provider. I called on 10-15-22 and explained once again that I'm being held responsible for an amount not valid. The agent assured me he'd put it on hold and investigate. Well, I just got a letter from a debt collector. I called Northside Anestesiology again today to explain I was to get a call back and never did. She said it goes into collection after 30 days, which I told her was not my problem. She hung up on me. Time to go to the BBB.

The bills don't stop even after you pay. Pricing is not transparent and they use a third-party for "services" not including location, medicine, etc. that you've paid for in advance. (I actually thought bills from the third party were a scam.) You will be billed for random amounts for months. Don't use them if you can help it.
