China Sichuan was recommended as a must visit for our trip to Ireland by a colleague. My wife and I came for dinner, hands down this was the best meal at an Asian restaurant we had ever had. The service was fantastic, the food tasted so good and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely stop by again on our next trip to Dublin.

First and foremost, the authenticity of the dishes was questionable. Sichuan cuisine is renowned for its fiery and numbing "mala" sensation, but unfortunately, the dishes I tried lacked that signature punch. The absence of true Sichuan peppercorns and other essential spices left the food feeling lackluster and dull, depriving me of the expected gastronomic adventure. Moreover, one of the cornerstones of Sichuan cuisine is its spiciness, which I was eagerly anticipating. Regrettably, the heat level of the dishes was toned down considerably, catering to a more timid palate. I yearned for the fiery intensity that should have ignited my taste buds but was left with nothing more than a mild tingle. Another glaring disappointment was the portion sizes. Sichuan restaurants are traditionally known for their generous servings, reflecting the Chinese culture of communal dining and sharing. To my surprise, the portions here were meager, almost resembling a European fine-dining experience rather than the hearty feast I anticipated. This lack of abundance left me wanting more, both in terms of taste and quantity. Lastly, and perhaps most dishearteningly, the restaurant's attempt to Europeanize its offerings was evident in every dish. The flavors were toned down to suit the Western palate, resulting in a loss of the restaurant's unique identity. The essence of Sichuan cuisine, with its bold and authentic flavors, was diluted, leading to an unfortunate homogenization of the dishes. Despite the pleasant ambiance and attentive service, I cannot overlook the disappointment I felt during this dining experience. The restaurant's lack of authenticity, insufficient spiciness, small portion sizes, and Europeanization of the cuisine overshadowed any positive aspects it may have had. In conclusion, my visit to this Sichuan restaurant left me longing for the genuine, bold flavors that make this cuisine so exceptional. For those seeking an authentic and fiery Sichuan dining experience, I would advise looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, this establishment falls short of its reputation and fails to deliver on the promise of an authentic Sichuan culinary journey

We visited the restaurant with 3 kids and unfortunately, our experience was far from positive and it’s definitely not kids friendly. From the moment we arrived, the service was lacking. The waiters seemed uninterested and barely acknowledged us. To make matters worse, the lady served our table must had a bad day, no smile whatsoever, when we asked questions about the dishes, her reply was short and impatient, absolutely appalling. Food were served quickly, but the taste I would give 5/10, Fried rice was lacking in flavour, tasted just like boiled rice. The portion is rather small given that the everything is priced high. also to note, there is no kids menu and nothing really is suitable for small children. At one point, the staff requested that we turndown the volumes of my 4 years old tablet, which wasn’t even loud at all ( I sat opposite him and I couldn’t hear anything) given that there is music playing in the restaurant that was much louder. The only positive thing I can comment on was that the toilet is very clean. The overall atmosphere was lacking in warmth and charm. We wanted to leave the place as quickly as possible didn’t even finish the food, don’t think we will ever go back again.

I don’t understand why this restaurant is called Sichuan restaurant. It’s no where near the authentic Sichuan food. 夫妻肺片”Men and wife” beef slices is really bad, It is thin steak not beef slice. And the sauce is really really salty. I’m also very disappointed with hot & sour soup, what is that? It should be called as “Soup with Pepper”. However this restaurant made great Cantonese cuisine! Soft shell crab is really good, worth to try. I would recommend Cantonese food in this restaurant.

The staff was excellent. Polite and attentive, my water glass was never empty. They could teach other places how it’s done. The food was hit and miss. The sweet corn chicken soup was extremely sweet, it tasted like it was made with sugar syrup. I am not exaggerating unfortunately. The prawn dish was very tasty however. The chicken with cashew nut was very spicy and the cashews were a little burnt. The lemon yuzu tart was delicious. Overall a pleasant dining experience mostly due to the staff.

Fantastic spot. The food is extremely fancy but not too pricey for what it is. I had the half smoked duck and my friend had the cashew chicken - the chicken was incredibly tender and silky! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Service is excellent too. I just wish they didn't take the prawn crackers away when food arrives 😂

China Sichuan is the go to Chinese restaurant in south Dublin. Upon arrival, a staff member took our coats and showed us to our table. We were directly handed the menus instead of them beating laid out already which was nice. The staff is very polite and professional. The dishes were presented beautifully and tasted just as good as they looked. The beef was super tender (see image below) and the dumplings were full of flavor. The staff also kept refilling the water glasses as soon as they were empty, which was also very nice. The vibe in the restaurant was very calming but at the same time it was full of people. Upon leaving the restaurant, we were given our coats again. Great experience.

Sichuan was recommended as the best Chinese eating experience in Dublin This was not my experience or my partner Any chef would not have been challenged by this menu I had the sichuan duck with sauce and Chinese pancakes The duch must have been cooked on Tuesday!! Dry and tasteless absolutely no flavor as in no flavor My partner had spring rolls (chicken) Tasteless and expensive This really does not reflect how wonderful Chinese food can be A very expensive substitute Just my thoughts

The place was quiet and relaxed, the staff was kind, polite, and courteous. The dumplings starter was quite small and a bit dough-y and its flavor was rather mild. However the lobster main course was great. The meat had a great texture and the flavor was excellent. The Cabernet Sauvignon i ordered also tasted great. You also get treated to some appetizers while you wait for your order to arrive. The place is definitely expensive but I still recommend experiencing it at least once.

The best Chinese in Ireland! Hands down... I’ve been going here over 20yeara of my life , I’ve been eating here longer then I haven’t !😂 but honestly service is 10/10, food 10/10. Only thing is the location but is still busy every evening. They do such a good job here. I love it...

Heard about this restaurant years ago when different friends with reliable palates waxed lyrical about it so finally got there and WOW! It's a step up in Chinese cuisine no doubt and you get the feeling as soon as you enter. I won't go into the dishes because everything we had was impeccably spiced and cooked and if you worry about quantities, don't. The food oozes freshness, there's innovation going on (my ribeye (in cubes) dish was developed by the chef some years back and was just soooo good) and a great sign, our Malaysian waiter knew his menu, he accurately described what we could expect from the dishes we'd chosen. Why, the starters were so good, we were emboldened to try their desserts. OMG. We'd go back for those alone! They were GORGEOUS! Yes, a dessert in a Chinese restaurant was gorgeous, what you'd expect in an excellent mainstream Irish or international restaurant. And not a lychee in sight. Our Cabernet Sauvignon was at a perfect temperature and the only bone to pick is a little one, it was that my wife's starter plate (the actual plate) was too small for her generous squid starter - and it needed a bit more seasoning. Won't stop us going back of course, it's what's ON the plate is important. Bony Appetit.

We were encouraged to try China Sichuan by numerous friends and the restaurant more than lived up to their reputation. Their Tea Smoked Duck is to die for. They have an excellent Gluten Free menu too!

Highly recommend, from the moment we walked in, we got a warm welcome, we found the waiting staff very professional and friendly. We shared the cold bon bon chicken, it tasted so fresh with a kick and soft shell crab, it was hard to pick a winner as both delicious, spicy duck and lightly coated king prawns for mains, 2 very different dishes, full of flavour and both very enjoyable. Desserts were unreal, millionaire twix for the lover of chocolate and I was intrigued if they would pull off "crisp" choux with caramel and boy did they get it right. I was told this is one of their new desserts, I can see it becoming a firm favourite. If you want a lovely setting, beautiful food, so well presented which is very reasonable and excellent service, this is the place to go. Will definitely go back. A lovely night indeed.

One of my all time favourite places to eat. You will never be disappointed, everything is delicious! And incredibly nice staff. I dream about the food here! And the presentation is certainly art on a plate!

👍👍 First time here with my parents and we went for an early dinner on a Sunday. Huge car park if you decide to drive. The staff are very friendly and chatty. We sat down in the back in a nice quiet area. The menu has a great selection even though it was condensed. Both of us got the fish and chips, the...
