I liked the experience overall. The steps are nice and provide some really nice views of the ocean from the top. I happened to watch quite a few surfers in the morning and it was quite fun. It has a lot of natural beauty on both sides of the steps so the walk down to the beach is also enjoyable. Parking was easy on a Sunday morning. There is free street parking available right at the entrance of the steps.

Great "hidden" beach access for locals willing to hike down nearly 1000 steps and back up again. If you are looking to walk along or sit on the beach below, be sure to check the tide chart first because the water comes all the way up to the base of the stairs during high tide.

Mesa Lane Steps are a wonderful way to walk down to the beach. There is exactly 242 steps one way (counted going up the steps), for a round-trip total of 484 steps. The steps have several "landings" where you are able to rest for a bit if needed and/or let others pass. The steps are wooden and the last flight at the bottom are made of metal grate. The steps are dog friendly, but your did might be a bit scared to walk on the metal grate at the bottom.

Love this place in Santa Barbara, CA, you go down 250 steps or so, to this beautiful beach and if you are lucky, sometimes you might even see Dolphins just swimming along. Also good for surfers, and if you go in the afternoon you get to see a stunning sunset 🌞, So you get a good exercise and on awesome view.πŸ‘β€

Great views and unique spot to get your heart pumping. Magical little staircase in a neighborhood that brings you to the beach.

This is a pretty quiet and calm place. I love the steps. Did it twice (up and down) and felt like I got a workout. Awesome views too!

This place was amazingly beautiful! It’s worth the climb. I felt like I was in paradise while going down. ❀️ Pets are ok but put them on leash. Parking on street but a little difficult the day I visited.

Excellent at low tide if you are into geologic processes and formations. No sand on this beach πŸͺ¨

Santa Barbara has so many cool spots. We accidentally bumped into this place and what a surprise! Not too crowded, great views and perfect location for sunset as well.

Great sunset spot! But go early to get parking and have time to get situated.
