Mesa cafe has been a "go to" spot on the Mesa for decades. With a full bar, and patio seating it is a great option for a casual comfortable meal. They serve breakfast till 3pm and the Benedicts are all awesome. For lunch try the Turkey dip or any of the burgers. Dinner can be busy on the weekends with a very active bar and TV'S going. The outside patio is dog friendly. Overall a good cafe with a full bar. Service can be spotty. Good BLT with a Jakes bloody!

By far my favorite breakfast, brunch, and lunch place in Santa Barbara. Great staff, great reasonably-priced food, just a great time every time. I make the great pilgrimage every Saturday for brunch with the boys, I wish I could have every meal here. Genuine 10/10

We arranged a surprise birthday lunch for a girlfriend here. She loves to walk Shoreline and Cliff Drives every Monday. The food is always great, and the service quick, accurate, and friendly. I've been trying Tuna Melts all over town. Mesa Cafe wins. The Tuna Salad is not drowning in Mayonnaise, the Rye Bread is delicious, it was heated throughout, and mostly cheese on both sides. Yummmmmy !

The popularity of this breakfast/lunch favorite means it's a bit noisy, but other than that, it made for a great destination lunch on our ebikes, from Goleta.

I really like their burgers and salad. Good place for lunch. Yummy. And it's near the grocery store. Scorpio sign here approves this restaurant.

Great local restaurant serving up fantastic comfort food, with a Santa Barbara twist, in a casual beachy environment. Staff is always friendly and eager to please. The large bar also makes this spot a perfect place to wet your whistle if a libation is what you seek.

Mediocre food at best, which isn’t my problem with this place. Staff was quite friendly with the exception of the owner. My boyfriend was served water that had floating things in it (dirt and other debris) which I didn’t really mind as I just asked for another glass of water. The one and really biggest issue I had during my experience was when my boyfriend found a half-broken toothpick in his burger. Clearly someone had realized it had broken and didn’t care enough to remove it before sticking another into the burger. I talked to the owner about this and only received the most uncaring response. I was told that someone had the exact same issue only the week before (which shouldn’t something have changed since then??) and that he needs to change the toothpicks to another method. However, it’s clear to me that the issue lies not with the toothpicks but the person whose job it is to put them in the burgers. Something as trivial as that shouldn’t be left to someone who ignores that the toothpick broke. Although it was quite busy and I understand that certain aspects can’t be held up to their usual standard, there is a certain amount of care that someone should receive after finding a toothpick shard in their burger from the owner no less.

This is a local favorite and for good reason. Busy on game days due to the TVs. Busy on weekends due to games as well as delicious brunch and breakfast options. They have several variations of eggs benedict (including tri-tip, salmon, avocado, etc.) that are fantastic. Sandwiches are also good. Did I mention this place gets busy? Be prepared to wait. Indoor and outdoor seating available and there's a full bar in case you need a mimosa or bloody Mary with your eggs.

Wow! Called in a phone order for a cheeseburger. Simple right!? Nope. Arrived 20 min later for pick like the man on the phone told me. Walk in and there are 3 young individuals at the front counter. They had no idea what "man" took my order and it was never placed in the system. They offered no explanations or anything. Just a "sorry about that". What the heck happened to good service and good customer service. Kinda sad really.

So good! Great food and good size portions. The staff is friendly and efficient - your food comes up pretty quick, so it's nice and hot. If something isn't right they will fix it fast. They have a bar too; perfect for that morning wake up. They haven't reopened their dinner service yet... hope that happens soon.

Cup of soup for $8 is a rip-off. It was not even a full cup and was a pathetic excuse for soup. The salad was some dry greens on a plate. Mesa was much better in the past.

I love this place!! Great atmosphere and always great service. I don't think I have ever come here when they provided bad service. Everyone, from the hostess, server, and the bus boys. I never have a complaint with service and or the atmosphere of the place. I do however, wish that they would add some vegan or vegetarian friendly meals. I do not eat eggs and always have a hard time ordering here because of that. I have gone to other local restaurants and they understand the order and always makes me yummy food. So the three times I have been here I have attempted to order in the same way I phrase my order at these other locations. I ask for either an omelet or a scramble without the eggs. Basically vegetables scrambled within each other but no eggs. The last time I was here. The kitchen didn't understand. My server put the order in and explained it to them. The first time the food came out, it had eggs. The second time it came out it had no eggs but had bacon on it. (which I also don't eat) finally third time was a charm. Wish the server could have done whatever it was he did this last time the first time but I was happy to get my food nevertheless. This is such an awesome gem in Santa Barbara!! Please please please provide some options for the vegans and vegetarians in town. We are quickly growing in the Santa Barbara area. Would love to update my review to give this business the 5 stars it deserves.

As to be expected from such a long standing local establishment, the staff here is always friendly. Atmosphere is great. Definitely a place off the new normal, but worth the trip for me.

Went for breakfast. Patio under the awning was nice. Food was exceptional. Like insane. Traditional eggs Benedict were perfect. Pancakes were good. Hash browns were crispy and delicious. Chips and guac were refreshing - chips seemed to be home fried tortilla. The salsa that came with the chips and each order of hasbrowns was some of the best I've ever tasted. Coffee was medium, only downside. Would go here every chance I got if I lived in Santa Barbara

Love this locals spot. You know how you're in a restaurant enjoying friends and the vibe then you notice the music. It's a great song. Then there's another good one, then another. Yes, this cafe is that place! Older tunes but all good, and various genres. Food is as expected. Simple breakfast fare. That Bloody Mary! A kicker (booze wise, actually could have been a bit spicier for my taste yet, yum). Staff were great.

The food was really good here, but the service, although friendly, was extremely slow. 🐢 We were there 1 hour and 45 minutes, after we were seated. And we didn't receive our sides or request for additional water until after we had finished eating.
